Rep. Peter King: 'I Have Nothing But Contempt for the NY Times. They Should Be Indicted for Espionage'
Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) made a statement about the New York Times Tuesday that is likely shared by conservatives and most right-thinking Americans from coast to coast.
In an interview with The Hill, King said, "“I have nothing but contempt for them. They should be indicted under the Espionage Act":
King took aim at a Sunday editorial that criticized King's comments about the radicalization of Muslins. The editorial suggested such comments were beneath someone who will be chairman of the Homeland Security Committee.
As the Hill noted, King was responding to the Gray Lady's January 2 editorial "Homeland Blather":
It is disturbing to listen to Representative Peter King, the incoming chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. He has announced plans to hold a hearing next month into what he calls the “radicalization of the American Muslim community.” Mr. King, a New York Republican, is no stranger to bluster, but his sweeping slur on Muslim citizens is unacceptable.
Former New York City mayor Ed Koch went after the Times while supporting King in a commentary sent to the New York Observer Monday:
It was Peter King who successfully introduced legislation, ultimately enacted into law, which protected those and future passengers who report suspicious behavior by passengers on airplanes from being the object of lawsuits. Congressman King is now seeking to protect America and the Muslim American community. How? By holding hearings on whether or not the American Muslim community is becoming radicalized and giving aid and comfort to America's enemies.
Remember, we are at war with Islamic terrorists who, according to the U.S. government, have Al-Qaeda cells at work in 62 countries. Islamic terrorists have made it clear that they want to kill Americans - men, women, and children. If the hearings establish that the American Muslim community, like the Japanese American community during World War II, is devoted and loyal to the U.S., wouldn't that be of enormous assistance in protecting members of the American Muslim community from the charges that have been made against them? [...]
I support U.S. surveillance and infiltration of Muslim organizations on reasonable suspicion and when court ordered, to ascertain whether or not terrorist activity is present or if there is support of such activity by providing funds, often through the use of charitable organizations.
According to The Hill, King clearly isn't backing down:
“I’m certainly not going to take any political advice or direction from The New York Times,” he said. “I have more contempt for The New York Times than anything or anyone I can think of.”
Ouch!

I've always liked Peter King because he's got the same fortitude as Chris Christy. He doesn't triangulate just to get elected. Remember, he's from Long Island, a bastion of liberal-think. I wish he was my House Rep. I'm stuck with a 'wussy' - Steve Israel (D for dumbass).
It's actually refreshing that someone like King can get elected

and reelected in a state full of libral droids. Even more refreshing that there are actually some libs, like Koch, who have seen the light in regards to national security issues. Of course then you look at other NY politicos like Anthony Weiner or Chucky Schmucky Schumer and realize they have a looong way to go in New York State to reach an acceptable level of political sanity.
I heard Anthony Weiner on

I heard Anthony Weiner on Sean Hannity's radio show yesterday and I can honestly say it's been a while (albeing not too long) that I've heard a politician who openly lies and evades the way Weiner did yesterday.
Name that libutard!

If the rest of the Republicans would get a back bone and call out these blatent liberal rags and media channels there would be less bravdo among the libs. By not saying anything for the last 8 years they have done nothing but embolden and revitalize the Liberal Outlets.
Fight them every chance you get and hold their nose to the facts.
Please carve this in my headstone.

NYT will be history one of these days. The GOP is taking over the House today. Must drive those socialist paper pushers nuts! How great is that?
A big thanks to NYT

The pedestrian intellects at NYT have inadvertently fertilized the tea party movement, (think for a moment how even the most odorous BS, once buried, can be recycled into nutrition), and accidentally woke up legions of decent, hardworking middle-earth Americans nationwide.
The perverted agenda of the secular culture has suffered a major setback; their jihad [sic] on Christmas was their undoing.
Yes Virginia, there are Christian, conservative, patriotic democrats - and they turned their backs on the filthy urban-secular agenda fostered by the NYT and the uber-rich liberal socialist progressives.

That's how the Honorable Mayor Koch described himself. While I have often disagreed with him on many issues, I've always admired his willingness to oppose liberals in his party and in the media on numerous policies.
I had the privilege of knowing and working with Mayor Koch and found him to be elegant at social events, treating the common person with respect and dynamic in debating political positions he held.
