Bristol Palin Strikes Back at Olbermann: 'Sorry We Can't All Be As Perfect As You'
As NewsBusters previously reported, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann pathetically attacked Bristol Palin on Monday for being the Candie's Foundation's abstinence spokesperson.
On Thursday, Miss Palin struck back via Facebook:
What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.
I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the "worst person in the world" to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.
As NewsBusters pointed out Tuesday, Olbermann is far from faultless as Miss Palin's connection to the Candie's Foundation is now almost nineteen months old making Olbermann's point even more preposterous.
Sadly, that's par for the course for this MSNBCer.

Olbermann is nothing more than a bully. He has put himself in the safe and cowardly position of not being able to be challenged on his taunts and provocations. He picks on a kid, knowing that his base (in all senses of the word) audience will cheer his mean-spiritedness on. He warps the facts of situations and takes quotes out of context to fit into his deliberately twisted mis-analysis. Olbermann is the worst of the worst at MSNBC and those not quite as bad as him actually aspire to be as bad as him. For the life of me, I can't see any redeeming qualities in the jerk.

Unless you were right there with her, you have no way of knowing for certain who wrote it. But, you'll open your mouth anyway. And at the end of the day, she very well may have written it. She is getting an education on life right now, in amongst other things, on playing with the big boys, and if there is anything that Palin would put before politics, it would be family, so education on the big bad world would be priority one. There is no doubt that all the Palins are brushing up on any topic they choose. They have the time, the money, and the desire to learn anything they may desire. And like mama, they will have the knowlege and courage to stand by their convictions. You deserve the the slam. Clown.

Your use of "maybe" in the sentence "...to attack everyone under the sun..." is incorrect. It should be "may be," two separate words.
And I'm guessing you meant to call KO a "blowhard," not "a blows hard" which makes no sense t unless you were trying to make some crude sexual reference, in which case you completely mangled the sentence.

Par for the course from a "man" who stalked Robert Tur's teenage daughter before shacking up with her. Robert Tur is Keith's "friend". Yikes! Oh Lord, when will people ever learn! Ms. Palin should take a lesson from George Bush and learn that responding to attacks from idiots like KO do nothing but embolden and strengthen the idiot. Here we are on NB, at 0900 in the morning, and we already have 50 posts responding to this piece. All of this discussion of KO is exactly what KO was hoping for. As long as he gets some form of attention, good or bad, he's happy.
Ms. Palin should have just ignored KO's statements and shown that he has no effect on her. By responding to him, especially with a snarky reply, she's shown him that he can get under her skin. Now that he knows that, he's just gonna get worse. A "story" that would have been long forgotten 12 hours after KO's newscast now has a new life... will they ever learn?

I respectfully disagree, one of my biggest beefs with "W" was that he didn't fight back as he figured that would buy him some cache with the a-hats in the media and they still TRASHED him no matter what.

Keefie can say anything he likes about someone who can fight back if they choose to, but to direct this type of assault toward a teenager is despicable. This flags Keef as a bully, a gay boy, and/or an idiot with no socially redeeming values. No MAN behaves like this toward someone else's children regardless of politics.

KO's newscast wasn't what started this rolling. I don't know of anyone who watches his show that's not paid to do so. I guarantee that everyone of the Palins was informed of what he said by someone else who saw it, and then had the statements checked out. Olberman doesn't get ratings because his show is lousy, and full of deception and hate. Our discussing it on this blog doesn't help him at all. MSNBC knows we're not watching him, or their network, so they don't profit at all from our discussion. News Busters profits from our discussion because advertisers will pay them more money for more exposure. I don't know about you, but I want NB to be around forever!

No Grizzlies do not run in packs. Momma will raise cubs, if she has more than one that is as close to a pack as it gets. She runs them off around 18 months. Males will kill cubs to bring momma back into heat. Hence the reason Mamma with cubs is the most dangerous animal walking the woods. She will defend them with her life.

I am so happy for and proud of Bristol Palin for standing up for and defending herself against an idiot like Olbermann...She is exactly correct in her contention that often the best spokesperson about a particular issue or cause is one who has had personal, sometimes unfortunate or difficult, experience with that issue. Olbermann is nothing more than an ignorant, mean spirited, loud mouth bully, and I am so glad that Bristol fired back at him...Good for her.
The downside of all this is that at the very young age of 20, she is unfortunately learning some very hard lessons about life, and about people, but I believe that these difficult lessons will serve her well throughout the rest of her life.

Bathtub Boy, suffering as he is should not be on Television. Obviously the presidency of George W. Bush got to poor Keith and he's snapped hard. Just look how he turned his attack on Miss Palin into a backhanded attack on Bush. Clearly the man needs professional help. He needs to be taken off the air imediately and committed to professional help for his Clinical BDS.

After she just slapped Olbermann down, Ms. Palin needs to show some more maturity and move ahead. She's already the better of the two. After all, she knows of where she speaks. Olbermann only knows how to attempt to insult and how to twist the facts. I refuse to call him " Mr " from here on out since he went out of his way to insult a young lady who is obviously far more mature than he ever could be. She' s trying to help others who might be in a similar situation. The best thing that Olbermann could do, since this is not an area in which he may have any knowledge, is to shut his mouth and get out of the way. BTW, my wife saw Mr./Mrs./Ms. Maddow on TV last night and said, " WTF??? " Howls of laughter!!

Bristols point about going through the experience making you a more qualified spokesperson is exactly right. Olberman knows this, he's just making up his own personal reasons to hate. Back in the 90s the left had a campaign, about people with conservative views, that was basically calling all conservatives hateful. I notice they don't try this as much anymore, because the obvious parties of hate are all on the left. (Socialists, Communists, Democrat, Green)
I'll give them some ammo they can aim at me. This is MY personal opinion and should not be attributed to any other conservative..... though I don't mind if any other conservative wants to agree with, and use the following statement as their opinion as well.
We now know why Bristol Palin makes such a great spokesperson for the promotion of abstinence programs for teens. She's made the mistake herself, and can speak on the subject with authority, having to live her own life with the consequences of her actions. A perfectly sensible and sound bit of reasoning.
Taking such flawless reasoning into account, my personal belief is that Kieth Olbermans parents should have been spokespersons for the safe and effective use of birth control products, or for that matter, they would also have been able to make the case for abstinence better than Bristol Palin, considering what their partaking in the act of sexual relations produced.
