Sarah Palin Sends 'Message to All 57 States' Bashing Media Focus on North Korea Gaffe

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin on Thursday struck back at media members that bothered reporting the slip of the tongue she made the previous day concerning North Korea being America's ally.

In a Facebook posting entitled "A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States," Palin mocked news outlets for not giving similar coverage to gaffes made by Barack Obama:

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

As can be seen, Palin included links to YouTube videos of Obama saying some really absurd things:

If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy.

Palin also noted that she didn't mention any of Joe Biden's famous gaffes - "I didn’t have enough time."

She continued:

If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann certainly didn't care about such facts Wednesday evening:

KEITH OLBERMANN, HOST: And a choked chicken leads us fittingly as Thanksgiving looms to a fully functioning turkey. Bad things happen when you try to get in your everything is Obama`s fault talking points in all at one once.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How would you handle a situation like just developed in North Korea?

SARAH PALIN, FORMER GOVERNOR OF ALASKA: Well, North Korea -- this is stemming from, I think, a greater problem when we`re all sitting around asking, oh, no, what are we going to do and we`re not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what is it that North Korea is going to do. So, this speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policies.

But, obviously, got to stand with our North Korean allies. We`re bound to by --

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: Uh-huh. Wait, what?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PALIN: But, obviously, got to stand with our north Korean allies. We`re bound to by treaty.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: South Korean.

PALIN: We`re also bound by -- yeah. And we`re also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: Just a slip of the tongue, right? We take you to the book "Game Change," page 397: "on September 10th, she was preparing to fly back to Alaska to tape her first network interview with ABC`s Charlie Gibson. Before the flight to Anchorage, Schmidt, Wallace and other members of her traveling party met Palin at the Ritz Carlton near Reagan Airport in Pentagon City, Virginia, and found her that although she had made some progress with her memorization and studies, her grasp of rudimentary facts and concepts was minimal. Palin couldn`t explain why North and South Korea were separate nations."

As NewsBusters previously reported, ABC's "Good Morning America" thought this was newsworthy Thanksgiving day:

So did the Associated Press:

Sarah Palin is drawing criticism from around the world after declaring that the United States has to stand with "our North Korean allies."

Palin's gaffe, made Wednesday during an interview on Glenn Beck's syndicated radio show, was quickly corrected by her host. But it drew immediate fire from liberal bloggers, who cited it as an example of the 2008 vice presidential candidate's lack of foreign policy expertise.

The AP felt it was newsworthy again Friday:

While Palin's fans are loyal and legion, the prospect of her running for president alarms some Republicans. They think Palin is too polarizing and too inexperienced to defeat Obama, even if Republicans in general can maintain the momentum of their powerful performance in this month's midterm elections.

Her foreign policy gaffe Wednesday kept the question alive. She declared on Glenn Beck's syndicated radio show that the United States has to stand with "our North Korean allies" in connection with tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Her mistake was quickly corrected by her host. But it drew immediate fire from liberal bloggers who cited it as an example of her lack of foreign policy expertise. Newspapers in Asia and Europe echoed the criticism. The Times of India says Palin "did it again," while London's Daily Mail says she "may want to brush up on her geography."

UPI also hit this Thursday:

Sarah Palin has yet to address the controversy arising from her televised statement about standing "with our North Korean allies," observers say.

She has now.

Keep slapping them in the face Sarah, we need more of this from the Conservative right and less kissy faces and making friends.  These people will never help or even be friendly to the Conservative Right so why are we being civil with them.  Call them out and shove their face in it every chance you get.

Actually, when Obama spoke of the '57 States', with 'one to go' while on the campaign trial in Oregon, he was correct.  Read below why -

-  The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is made up of 57 Member States

-  The 'one to go' that Obama mentioned is in reference to a state for the so-called 'palestinians'.

Oops, only thing, his father would have been 6 years old when WWII started, and his step-father would have been 5.   His father only served in the British colonial forces, long after the war, and not the U.S. Military.  And, Soetero served in the Indonesian armed forces.

So, who remembers the news media pouncing on this obvious lie?  They were forced to report his lie about his uncle liberating Auschwitz, but this lie seems to have been buried

Not just toying with them, but like Ju-jitsu, using their weaknesses and errors to her advantage.

This will be fun. Sarah gets more powerful and the media shrinks under the rare process of aggressive satire and mockery.

This is only possible through the free exchange of information through alternative sources. Our 1st amendment encourages this; democrats in congress, not so much.

Audience

Submitted by KC Mulville on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 11:28am.

Editors make decisions about how their audience will respond to stories. So, by implication, editorial decisions tell us about who editors think their audience is.

When a "news" show appeals to liberals, giving them stories that feed their assumptions, and withhold stories that contradict their prejudices, that reveals how the "news" show editors think their audience is liberal. Now that can mean one of two things:

  1. They think the country is liberal, in which case they're ignorant of the world outside their bubble.
  2. They know their audience is a prejudiced minority, and they don't care about the majority.

In either case, editors who put out these biased news stories aren't trying to communicate with the vast majority of Americans. Declining ratings show the result.

Compared to the tyrant we have in the white house, her debating skills alone would qualify her as a leader.  That @$$hole reads from a script all the time to avoid saying what he really means or feels.

No offense but you are gonna have to come up with something a helluvalot better than that as well as why she wouldn't make a far better leader, especially one that loves her country which we so desparately need right now.

I respect that many of you might not want to see her run for president, but she is far and away a better choice to have as president than anything the democrats will ever send out. (yeah, I said anyTHING, not anyONE)

In your view she can't win because the MSM has you believing she can't. Just as the MSM had people believing a fumbling, far-less-qualified, and baggage-laden-up-the-wazzoo (back in 2007-2008, even) joke like Obama can. You've let the media defeat you, IMO.

Palin is not that bad, even if she's a bit awkward at times. But like someone else pointed out, she's been Quayled by the media -- and she's not stupid and not UN-fit to run, by any historical standards.

She/we need to absolutely mock, dismiss, and even flip the bird to the establishment media, enmasse, via the new media. The more we do this, the better. Not just for her, but for any conservative running, as they will pull the same M.O. on any other rising star on the right.

"Palin is not that bad, even if she's a bit awkward at times. But like someone else pointed out, she's been Quayled by the media -- and she's not stupid and not UN-fit to run, by any historical standards."

I never said she was unfit to run, and I don't believe she's as dumb as some would have us believe, and she absolutely has been and is being "Quayled". Hello, that's WHY she has no chance to win. Speaking of Quayle, how did his presidential campaign turn out?

Unless something really major happens between now and 2012, Palin has little chance to win. That's not me being defeated by the media, or hating on Palin, that's me being realistic. The msm have run a two year campaign to sabotage her, and it has worked. That campaign is only going to get worse over the next two years.

If she gets the nomination, she'll get my support and my vote, but that doesn't mean I have to be naive about it. It's not me you have to worry about the media convincing, it's everyone else. And you made the argument for me....just like the media convinced voters that a bad candidate like Obama was the right choice, they have also convinced them(and will continue to do so) that Palin is the wrong choice.

You forget that Ronald Reagan

Submitted by stratman on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 5:24pm.

You forget that Ronald Reagan was "Quayled" long before Quayle.

Reagan overcame great propaganda/disinformation and general disinterest by the Media, Democrats , AND Republicans.  He reached out to America with a well-honed dialogue crafted over years and multiple successes and failures.  He made his message resonate without a friendly shotgun-riding Media.  He did it in stump speeches and debates, radio addresses and various interviews.  He was successful because what he believed in was what the vast majority of Americans believed.  The people did not need to be spoonfed a bunch of activist gorp to know Reagan was like them, wanted the best for them, and would follow through the best anyone could to make good.

As I posted before, Palin does have a shot in getting her message out despite the Media filter.  She has done well in debates and speaking engagements where people hear her without the Media translation narcotic.  She's improving on how to deal with a hostile Media and has been creating a library of her policy positions (see another poster's multiple links on her policies in this thread.).

Show me the better candidate and I'll vote for them.  I want the best, too.So far, I don't know of any better Conservative whose name is seriously bandied about.  Do you?

Only a fool would try to compare the life accomplishments of a man who was active in public life until well into his 80's to those of a 46 year old wife and mother who entered the political arena in her late thirtes.

Where was Ronald Reagan when he was 46?  Hint :  He was not and never had been an elected public official, that's where.

You're comparing Ronald Reagan when he ran for governor to Sarah Palin before she (may) run for president? When Ronald Reagan ran for president, he had served two terms as the governor of the most populous state in the union, the state with the largest economy. I have nothing against Sarah Palin's experience - Barak Obama has taken that issue off the table - but to mix the experience versus the time frame is a bit disingenuous.

Perhaps you should check back to her debate with the King of Gaffes, Joe Biden.  If memory serves, she was generally considered to be the winner.  She's improving with time.  Also, I wouldn't be surprised if she has been studying up for a possible run for the White House.  She's not stupid, despite what the critics say.  She remembers her bad experiences with Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, and I'm sure she's determined not to let that happen again.  Don't "misunderestimate" her.

yes i agree...the Sara Palin phenomena is becoming a saga

Submitted by Paarl on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 7:02pm.

that is too much about Sara Palin and not about the dangers our republic faces.  I was quite upset when Palin took the opportunity to respond to Barbara Bush's comment a few days back.  whatever one thinks of the policies of both Presidents Bushes that family has devoted itself to public service of the highest order since George H W Bush became one of the youngest fighter pilots in WWII in 1942.

While Sara Palin has terrific political instincts and does understand the thoughts and desires of a wide swath of the American populace and electorate SHE continues to make herself the issue. The issue is our future as a free people and how we ensure its continuance.  Sara Palin has not been in the arena of this struggle for a lengthy period and her amateurism and ego is taking center stage too often.

I, for one, am getting tired of the Sara Show.  We have a republic to save and the strength required to save this 'last best hope' will not be found on Dancing for the Stars or whatever it is called.

Our GOP is very deep in very successful governors and public servants who complete their duties and do not quit in the face of public criticism.  We need one of them in 2012 be it Daniels of Indiana of Jindal or Pawlenty.  Over the next two years the ideas of the Tea Party will continue to penetrate the GOP and the leadership in 2012 will need to show the country maturity and responsibility not a tendency of self promotion

No to take anything away from his service, but GHW Bush was a torpedo bomber pilot.  He flew the TBM Avenger.  Our contemporary Carrier borne fighters at that time were the F6F Hellcat and F4U Corsair.  The older F4F Wildcat was still in second line service as well.  Everything older was retired from combat.  Anything newer was not ready for primetime yet.

I think some of you are missing the point. The 2012 election, based on the success of the TeaParty, will be exactly what Obama wants, a class war, except it being economic it will be the rest of us, the majority, versus the self proclaimed elite. All she has to do is establish competency is making decisiopns and point out the simple truth that this self proclaimed elite are the folks, Democrat and GOP , who have screwed things up and a little populist common sense and with values is exactly what we need. All she has to do is issue a series of position papers on various topics to quell the elites' questioning of her intellectual breath and at the same time chaalege the Administration on its actions. The only thing the elites will have then are "scandals" by her or her family and all she would have to do is say,Johnson's daughters weren't in the press that often nor Carter's nor Clinton's, why my children? Not very fair. I'm the candidate.

Fred started late compared to the other candidates, who had weeks to hone their presentations.  Fred was out of the gates like molasses but did kick it into gear the last week or two of his campaign.  He did well in a debate at the end.  But it was too late.  His slow start and MSM propaganda - remember his expensive loafers worn to his first event, a state fair, were media and blogger fodder for days - crushed his chance to lead the pack.  Then there was the Media propaganda campaign about Fred not being serious, not wanting the job enough.  His slow start played to the hands of the Media.

Given an appropriate start to his campaign, relative to the other candidates, and a little more gas in his tank earlier on to show what passion he has for America, would help Fred if he chose to run again.

Fred has the smarts and natural instincts to keep America on a good path.  Palin has the instincts in spades and seems to be learning the rest.  You can't teach instincts, which is why Fred and Palin will always get my attention and potential vote.  When the shiite hits the fan, it's instinct, honed by experience and book knowledge, that guides the decisions required in the immediate.

I like what Fred says and how

Submitted by Dan The Man 2 on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 4:54pm.

I like what Fred says and how he says it, but he did have time to enter the race early and he was the one that ran like molasses.  In short he did not understand the how and why of running.  It made him look like he did not want to be President.  I voted for him anyways in the Primary as he was still on the ballot.  He severely disappointed me dropping out and for that reason he would have to convince me he would be worth voting for again.

Blonde,  I don't think Palin

Submitted by NL207 on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 4:03pm.

Blonde,  I don't think Palin will be the nominee even if she does run.  The establishment Republicans don't like her.  By that I mean people like that contemptible doughboy, Karl Rove.  I think the eventual nominee isn't going to be anybody who is a household name today.

If we, that is real Conservatives, had control of more of the party apparatus at the local level, it might be different, but we don't.   With the TEA Party awakening, I see a huge influx of grassroots conservatives coming into the town and precinct committees, but it will take 4 or 5 years for this to translate into control of the County committees and another election cycle after that before the establishment types have to give up some control over the respective state committtees.

Reformation of the Republican Party is going to be a long term project.  You will know it is complete when trash like Lisa Murkowski get ousted when they are defeated in a primary.  Until then, that is a sign the establishment types are still in control.

I looked for it, but it appears they were in the judges club.  It is still a state mater according to the Constitution.  There is a hearing scheduled or Monday to determine if Miller has any chance.  It sounds like there was some irregularity with the issuing of sheets showing writein candidates at the polling places.  But like I said it is a state matter, the states decide what the rules are.  FL was a national election and therefore extended past the state rules or as it was extension of the rules.

I still think Sara sould move

Submitted by glider02 on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 11:48am.

I still think Sara sould move the family to a quiet Virginia neighborhood and spend the next 6 weeks or so sitting with the fellows at The Heritage Foundation, but what I think about her depth of knowledge is not what matters. What I do admire about her is her fearlessness and her willingness to call the MSM and the Blue Bloods out.and expose them for what they are..she simply doesn't give a rat's arse what they think of her. The problem as I see it is one of the "drip drip" phenomenon. The MSM and their allies at the far left sites will have so damaged and wounded her, ( which is what the intent has been all along) that she may not be entirely able to recover to change the narrative....not with conservatives, but with independents she will need for a pathway to victory. I've always felt her greatest gift to the base is exactly what she's doing now. Fundraising, keeping conservatives motivated, and taking stabs at the current administration from afar. It occurs to me that she has successfully raised the negatives on Obama equally as much as she's gotten. Having said that, if I knew her or Todd personally I would strongly urge her to keep doing what she's doing and not to run. They will savage her and her family. You think it was bad when she was a Veep candidate...just wait. I simply don't see how she could survive with so many lined up against her. She's a huge force at the moment, and I hope she realizes that all changes once she declares. Even those of us who like her may have Sarah fatigue by Nov. 2012. She should keep up the sniper tactics she's currently employing...they're quite effective.

I sort of agree

Submitted by StarAZ on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 3:08pm.

First, I do not think the Heritage Foundation is some big brilliant deal. That is sort of patronizing. To me, anyhow. But I do agree that this constant campaign of contempt from far lesser people who have never sacrificed a darn thing to make this a better country has taken a toll that probably cannot be reversed. The same way their blatting got Obama in, they will make it impossible for her to prevail. And I for one do not wish to view years of this lame thinking and carnage, because it makes me think so much less of much of the media and even of some of my friends. I hope she will raise a ton of money, keep sniping at Himself, and just be her bubbly self. But not run. Let one of those good gray boring governors step up.

Submitted by Dan The Man 2 on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 4:29pm.

Star, we must put forward the best we have not who we think is the most electable; hopefully they will be one in the same.  If it is God's will then it will happen.  God has put forth the most unlikely candidates for leaders.  Moses a stuttering old man who ran from Pharaohs court and came back to "his" people to liberate them from 400 years of slavery.  Armed with a staff and God's words against a whole slew of wise men and Pharaohs might.  Yet he got the job done ... because he believed and had faith.

In the same way I believe Palin will get the job done.  Recall back to the 1999 and 2000 campaign season and this upstart George Bush came in.  A man who was in many ways like Palin eviscerated by the press as an bumbling idiot who knows nothing and is not suited to be President and continued o be throughout his tenure.  President Bush believed and has faith.  Palin has the chops and the wit to survive and excel, she believes and has faith.

Finally, a conservative with a sense of humor.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 12:07pm.

I like people who can laugh at idiots trying to bully them.  Yes, what they are attempting to do to Sarah Palin is exactly like the grade school playground bullies trying to make the "girls" cry.  As you know, the liberals of the world want to "legislate" bullying out of our schools, which won't ever work.  Conservatives know that the only way is to confront the bullies, which is exactly what Ms. Plain is doing, and it drives them nuts!

What we need is a president who actually has lived a life outside of politics, just like Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, and, yes, Sarah Palin.  They are grounded and tend to "know themselves" as real people and not some manufactured Muppet that has someone else's hand up their butt making the mouth move.

I have a feeling that she never was the target of bullies, at least not for long, when she was a kid.  I love that she will go on TV and wallop the shiite out of a fish to subdue it and keep it from flopping all over the boat.  Can you ever see Big Ears doing that!  I love it when she throws the media's crap right back in their face.  I love that she had rather be who she is than president if it comes down to that choice.

So, you go, girl.  Keep bitch slapping the bastards because the majority of people in this country who had rather be Mary, Sally, Charlie, John, or whomever else they are in "real life" than to be a phony, plastic President, are with you.

I kind of like the idea of someone with common sense instead of Harvard education sense running the country.  Seems as though every time we get a "really intelligent" President, we end up in the crapper. We meed to go back to a Reagan-type, who when asked what his strategy was toward the USSR, he said, "We win; they lose."  Most average people can understand that.

glider02, and who are you to judge her depth of knowledge?  In the last year or so, she has addressed many issues and in far more depth than those whose qualifications are never questioned.  Do yourself a favor and read this:

http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2010/11/no-substance-to-establishment...

If you read it, you'll have the opportunity to learn just a few of the policy statements she's made:

Monetary policy: check. A common sense political strategy for the new Congress: check. An energy policy that would actually move us toward energy independence: check. Iraq: check. Taxes: check. Union thuggery: check. Obama's hypocrisy and incompetence: check and check. Media bias: check. Racism: check. Obamacare, check: Cap and Tax: check. Peace through strength: check. Israel: check. Securing the border: check. Financial reform: check. The ticking time bomb of lavish tax-payer financed pensions for state employee unions: check.

Based on what you wrote, you seem to have swallowed the garbage that she lacks "intellectual curiosity".

This only goes to show how desperate the Left has become.  They're grasping at straws, since they can no longer defend the Obamessiah.

Also, this makes a nice if petty distraction from Mrs. Obama's statement that it's OK for all of us to have some pie just this once (though we're still going to have to give up some of it later on so others can have a share), and her blather to Barbara Walters about what a sacrifice she's making to be FLOTUS.

None other than George Stephanopoulos had to correct Obama on his religion.  The Left ignores that, then they howl about people who still suspect him of being Muslim.

Walters asks Obama if he can beat--- wait, I can't name any reality stars off the top of my head because I've never watched any of those shows. Sarah Palin's being "Quayled".  From the minute Dan Quayle was nominated for VP the MSM started in on the "Quayle's an idiot" meme.  Unfortunately, Quayle would occasionally get rattled and provide them with material to use against him.  Palin's fighting back hard, and she can get around the MSM with tools that weren't available to Quayle.

Palin+liberal media+Obama=Comedy

Submitted by scout on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 2:42pm.

Palin is, according to the liberal media, "dead" politically.  The problem is that they have to keep attacking her because unlike all the other good dead politicians, she refuses to stay in the box.  So the anti Palin attacks continue.

As for political gaffes, I am still waiting for my health insurance company to start sending me my $1,100,000.00  check every month, since that is what should have happened after Obama-care came into being, after all Obama claimed that "rates will go down 3000%."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgpnE9NtpYo

Still no word from AETNA on that claim.

Apparently, either insurance companies are going to start paying their customers to remain customers,  or Obama failed Basic Math.   Since a 100% decrease would have us paying nothing, and any thing over 100% decrease would have the insurance companies paying us to be customers.

double standard yes, but...

Submitted by Dave in Seattle on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 2:44pm.

The media's  double standard is and always will be their hallmark and Sara's ability to focus attention on that fact is worth something.

That said,  the down side of calling attention to gaffe's not covered by the media when the mistakes are made by liberal icons also calls attention to Sara's own problems.  Thus, she falls short of winning over the hearts and minds of the vast middle ground of potential voters.

Furthermore,  if we are willing to conclude that Obama's incompetence is made obvious by  his inability to speak intelligently without a script scrolling on a teleprompter - how  can we  excuse Sara's inability to accurately articulate basic facts of political history in a concise fashion? And, let's face it, that episode is only part of a longer list of things to contemplate.

In other words we can not excuse mediocrity in our heroes by virtue of the fact that the media does not expose the same in our opponent.

Better we should promote our best and the brightest - those that are not so prone to gaffes -  It beats whining about how unfair the double standard is,  don't you think?

With so much at stake I fear that so many are so willing to beat the drum for an individual who has a slim chance at best of winning the presidency, but  I also fear that we might get what so many wish for.  If that happens, we will have in the White House what the liberals are dealing with today, or worse,  and afterward we may never recover the lost opportunity.

Do we really want or need to go down that path?

cajun, good catch.  it seems as if this power by the President to grab land without due process is something the Tea Party should be looking at.  No one did Obama do this for the Polar Bears.  This was about stopping oil production in the U.S.  Next thing we know he'll be leasing it to the Russians for drilling, and financing it to boot.

This is an important issue. States like La, Tx, Montana, Wyoming, Colo. and Alaska all derive money from oil and gas revenue. It is what keeps us going. If the Feds take over permits as well as land, this will have a devastating financial blow to every state that depends on that oil and gas revenue. Not counting the primary objective of limiting states rights, financial destruction of state budgets would make many states more dependant on federal assistance. This is his primary objective. Remember, I have been screaming for 2 years that this man will accomplish his agenda to transform America, not by revolution, but in small un-noticed incremental steps.

BTW...NB does not allow me to reply to a comment so I must post a new comment which means this comment will shortly be in "the back of the bus"...;-(

Who's Sets the Standard?

Submitted by Lee.Metford on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 10:03pm.

Dave,

I think we would all be better off if we judged who may be the best and the brightest based on their character and public policy, since those elected will be working to implement public policy. Those that support candidate for superfluous reasons (including get wrapped up in the horserace) are doing a disservice to their community.

I find it fascinating what some voters use as a litmus test for a candidate to earn their X. I was astonished as to how many voters told me that they were voting for BHO, but when asked why, the vast majority never mentioned his public policy. I think most didn't know what his policies were even though the candidate wrote a bone chilling book that all too clearly laid out his public policy.

If you disagree with Palin's policies or question her character, why don't you just say that? Attempting to marginalize Palin by ginning up some bogeyman or setting standards that no one else has to meet isn't a hell of a lot different then what the left-media/propaganda machine has been doing since she came on the national scene. It is also patently unfair.  If you agree with Palin's policies then your small efforts serves to give aid and comfort to the opposition and stands to undermine these same policies.

"but when asked why, the vast majority never mentioned his public policy"

OK, what reasons did they give for voting BHO?

I know many who voted for this man and every last single one of them voted for Obama because he is black,  some promise they thought he made that was a complete lie, or because they blamed the Republicans for the financial collapse, also a lie.

It Wasn't the Content of His Character

Submitted by Lee.Metford on Sat, 11/27/2010 - 2:17am.

The overwhelming majority of declared BHO voters that I spoke with ultimately justified supporting him based primarily, and in some cases solely, on the color of his skin. While voting for (or not voting for) a candidate primarily base on the candidate’s race is fundamentally racist, most of these voters didn't see themselves as racists. When I asked if they thought voting for someone base on the color of their skin was racist, almost all responded with some variation of "No! Of course not. He's black."

AP: "Divisive and polarizing

Submitted by Chris Norman on Fri, 11/26/2010 - 10:38pm.

AP: "Divisive and polarizing political leader Sarah Palin today posted a message to the media on Facebook regarding our reporting that she actually thought North Korea was an ally. In her angry, divisive message, she revealed that she was even more misinformed.  Among her mistakes: she said there were 57 states, that Europe was a country, and there was an Austrian language. She has given some critics even more ammunaition that she is under edacated and not fit for national office. Washington insiders say she is ruining the country, in comparison to the enlightened leadership of President Barak Obama. Many people say they will never vote for such an ignorant and angry woman."

Andy Sullivan is having a hysterical hissy fit---

Submitted by daveinboca on Sat, 11/27/2010 - 12:23am.

This gay dude did have Palin’s misstatement on North Korea on his for-gay-eyes-only site yesterday, but for him to lie about that is par for the pitiful insane trans-human Provincetown sport-of-nature. Pathologists should dissect this creature after his upcoming demise to discover what sort of disease makes him hate women with a lot of kids—-by the way, Palin is of Irish heritage on her maiden name and her parents were Catholic before they went the evangelical route.

Hysterical Andy went straight from Catholicism to Satanism without an intervening stop for rest.

Seasoned candidates

Submitted by TomJoe on Sat, 11/27/2010 - 4:00am.

All these new up and comers in the conservative movement are fantastic.  Palin, Rubio, Jindal, Christie, West and others are all great new faces on the political scene.  We Republicans and Conservatives seem to be desparate to find the next Reagan Conservative to throw into the race as President of the United States.

When Reagan won the Presidency he had many years on the political scene and those years were used to gain the wisdom knowledge and maturity to achieve the leadership abilities and instincts that made him the greatest United States President in modern times.

I feel that to push the fresh new faces, that I mentioned earlier, onto the race for the Presidency too soon we could cause much more problems.  Problems for the potential candidates and the Conservatives and Republican party.

Let's see if we can try to let these great new Conservatives, at least, get a little more seasoned so that we can get the best from them.

Thanks

I wonder why nobody, not even Palin, ever mentions Harry Reid and how he keeps being elected

in Nevada.I think that it is very odd that Reid can continue being elected in Nevada when no other state would even consider electing him.

What`s going on in Nevada?
