Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin Mock Politico Hit Piece and 'Punk' Author

As NewsBusters reported Thursday, Politico's Jonathan Martin wrote a hit piece on former governor Sarah Palin leading Sean Hannity and Mark Levin to demand retractions of false sections in the article that involved them.

On Friday, Glenn Beck brought Palin on his radio program to assist him and his team in mocking Martin's claim that she frequently cancels interviews at the last minute and is "high maintenance" (video follows with transcript and commentary, h/t The Blaze):

GLENN: Sarah Palin is...

PAT: What?

STU: Are you kidding me?

GLENN: What?

PAT: Finally?

STU: Sarah Palin is coming on the show?

PAT: You called her an hour ago.

STU: After that book debacle where you just barely could get in touch with her.

PAT: It was an hour! This woman, she waited an hour before she got on the phone?

STU: So high maintenance, I can't

PAT: I am so sick of how demanding. Aren't you yet? Aren't you fed up? I'm done with it.

GLENN: No, we called her and she

PAT: Don't take this call. Don't take this call.

STU: Don't take it.

PAT: Don't take this call.

STU: Hang up on her.

PAT: Don't put her on. Don't put her on.

STU: This is unacceptable.

PAT: She is the most demanding person

GLENN: Like, what has she demanded?

PAT: ever dealt with. That we pick up the phone.

STU: Yeah.

GLENN: That we pick up the phone?

PAT: Yeah. Back in New York had to pick up the phone.

STU: Yeah.

GLENN: Did she demand that?

PAT: Don't put this woman on!

STU: Don't do it.

PAT: Don't do it, Glenn.

GLENN: Sarah, I don't know. We're breaking all kinds of rules. We don't usually deal with hothead and demanding figures like you.

PAT: Demanding high maintenance, mean, mean, mean people.

SARAH PALIN: I know, guys, and I have to apologize even for that hour will have passed the buck and we blame it on Trig. Trig needed food. He needed his business.

GLENN: Oh, jeez, here we go again.

PAT: Bring your baby into it.

GLENN: Did we need to book the whole first class section of some jumbo jet just to get you to the phone?

PAT: (Laughing).

SARAH PALIN: Sow, Lord.

GLENN: What did we have to put in your green room this time?

PAT: Remember last time at 8/28?

GLENN: Yeah.

PAT: She asked for... nothing?

STU: Nothing.

PAT: Remember that?

GLENN: That's exactly what.

PAT: Yes.

GLENN: That's exactly what you don't want. Now everybody was so stressed out because they were like, she didn't ask for anything. So we've got to put everything in here.

PAT: We've got to put everything in here. You knew that's what she meant.

SARAH PALIN: I'll tell you, I'll tell you, as you know, Glenn, that whole scenario that surrounds one as they are trying to get out there doing the job and then to have just the BS written about you, go through every single day.

GLENN: You know what? I actually demand and I don't know if you I'm sorry. I don't know if you saw this yesterday. I actually demanded a retraction and an apology from Politico. Nothing. This he don't care. Nothing.

SARAH PALIN: No, they don't care. They are just going to make things up, Glenn. They are going to try to make you look bad, they are going to put your name into an article that's negative about me, which is so unnecessary.

GLENN: Bring it.

SARAH PALIN: I mean, they can take their shots at me. What I said about the article is, hey, you can lie about me, Politico, Jonathan Martin, you punk. You guys can lie about me, but you are taking on the big guns, you are taking on Beck. You know, you are an idiot if you take him on. Jeez.

GLENN: I don't know. I'm a little sidetracked now with that other little guy, George Soros.

SARAH PALIN: Yeah, the little guy, yeah.

Earlier in the show, Beck joined Hannity and Levin in demanding a retraction from Politico.

Politico has yet to comply.

Now that's funny

But the left won't get it. It'll only make them angrier. Which is good.

Politico "punk"

Submitted by Texndoc on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 10:29am.

"...it was Jonathan Martin who led the brave new investigation into Joe the Plumber in 2008–when Obama’s off-hand remark about “spreading the wealth around” threatened to reveal the former Socialist New Party candidate for what he was."

I've never paid attention to Politico and only know it as the employer of the idiot who goes on Morning Joe and fascinates me with his bug eyes, bouncing up and down, and inability to form a complete sentence when he has a Conservative to bash - that Mike Allan guy.  Whoever thinks it's a good idea to put the cameras an inch-and-a-half from his face - boy, you're not watching, are you.  The fact that he is who I immediately think of when hearing "Politico" - about as accurate as MSNBC in my mind.

Martin and Politico

Submitted by sarge329 on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 10:47am.

Who is Jonathan Martin? What has he done? I've never heard of him. As far as Politico goes, I've only heard of it/them mentioned on the Glenn Beck radio program. Sarah Palin? We all know who she is. Glenn Beck? We all know who he is. It would seem to me that Martin is desperately seeking his 15 minutes of fame by trashing celebrities. The only difference between Martin and the tabloids is that they are recognized businesses, and he is not.

Jonathan Martin

Submitted by mom_rox on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 4:34pm.

going from memory: Jonathan Martin covered the Republcan side of the 2008 elections for Politico. (Ben Smith covered the Democrats.) I think he took a short break before returning to Politico.

now, my armchair, no - make that my computer chair analysis: Martin covered the McCain campaign, so he made a lot of acquaintances with that camp. As we know, there were several who were not fond of Sarah Palin, so I'm guessing that a non-Palin fan is spreading rumors.

Dissent to be allowed again on Nov 3

Submitted by Jack Bauer on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 12:10pm.

At the moment Democrats own both houses, and the presidency -- and the left is raging nuts that there is ANY dissent against their organized thievery.

If all goes as expected on Nov 2, you cannot believe the river of slime that is going to fall on conservatives leading up the the media's RE-ELECT OBAMA 2012 campaign.

And remember, with the Reps in power against-- at least some DISSENT will be PATRIOTIC again.

All of the above Mr Obama? --- How about ALL OF THE BELOW, instead.

Writing on the wall....

Submitted by adamsmith on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 1:36pm.

I think the writing is on the wall. Republicans take over, try to pass legislation to repair the economy. Rigid Obamalinsky will not allow anything to thwart his Communist Cloward Piven strategy. Congress and the People get sick of Barry and Team Barry, articles of impeachment. Conviction. Removal from office just in time for the Fourth of July.

America's first COMMUNIST president, TOTAL FAIL....

Again, RUSH was right!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politico has Always been kind of

Submitted by TCinAZ on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 5:44pm.

Politico has Always been kind of "Funny" in That Way with their hit pieces. I mean, did I Miss the ceremony when they were Absolved for their Latest Sins against Journalism?

"Oh, and did you know that some of Politico’s “journalists” were members of Ezra Klein’s now infamous JournoList, including Mike Allen, Lisa Lerer, and Mr. Ben “I-Got-Yer-Back-Barack” Smith?

I Guess I Must Have, because a few Of their Punks did Their Part in helping to Get a Punk elected POTUS.  However, they were welcomed back Into the MSM's "Journalist" Fold without a scratch On Em' and with No apparent Loss to their "Credibility"  Either.

Nice.

Poltico

Submitted by Atrocities on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 11:44pm.

Well leave it to the left to continue their tried and true heritage of inventing news.  When the truth will work fine, the left wing loon bats would rather tell a lie.  And lie they do.  Apart from their hypocrisy, intolerance, visceral, the only truly transparent thing about them is how obviously their lies are.

Why Should Politico Be Any Different?

Submitted by Secret Conservative on Mon, 10/25/2010 - 10:27am.

Why should Politico be any different then any other leftie rag?  If you're not bashing Sarah Palin then you're not going to get invited to Washington / New York cocktail parties.

I picked up a copy of Vanity Fair in the doctor's office the other day.  Normally I don't read trash like that, because it's all worthless fluff bound up with about a million advertisements for stuff I'd never want to buy.  But I was bored.  In this issue there was a hit piece on Sarah Palin AND one on John McCain.  Basically because they HAD to have a hit piece on Palin, and the McCain piece was all about why the press ended their love affair with McCain, although they totally blame McCain and don't mention it was because they had a Socialist running for President who they loved even more than McCain.  These "journalists" are so fickle and so transparent.
