James Carville Contests View Anger At Obama Is Racist

By Noel Sheppard | October 23, 2010 | 12:05

For well over a year, the media have been unashamedly claiming the anti-Obama sentiments sweeping the nation are all because the President is black.

According to Howard Kurtz, former Clinton adviser James Carville told Saturday's Innovators Summit in New Orleans that this is all nonsense:

The onetime Clinton strategist scoffed at suggestions that there's an unusually fierce anger at Obama in the country, and that some of it is race-related. In 1998, when Bill Clinton was in the process of getting himself impeached, Carville says people would come over and yell at him in airports.

Not the picture we've been hearing from so-called journalists for well over a year is it?

On another subject, Carville apparently was very nervous about the upcoming midterm elections:

If Election Day turns out to be a Category 3 hurricane, he declared—sounding as though he'd already had 20 cups of coffee—the Democrats will lose 30 to 40 House seats. If it's a Category 4, the New Orleans resident said, 50 seats will be swept away. And a Category 5 storm would be a complete wipeout.

What's more, the Ragin' Cajun told George Stephanopoulos and others on our panel, if his party loses the House, the Republicans, based on history, will take the Senate as well.

Although this is something I've rarely said in the last twenty years, let's hope Carville is right.

Carville is like a broken clock.

Except he is right only twice a year, this is the second time (see lying, gutless, clueless fraud Oblunder and the oil spill).

Carville can stop thinking for the rest of 2010, except when he explains why the House and Senate.............. went Republican.

Obama is immune?

Submitted by okiehawk44 on Sat, 10/23/2010 - 12:48pm.

Am I to understand the radical socialist view that criticizing someone whose race is part black makes the criticizer a racist?

So is Obama as the president of the United States and  coincidentally also partially black immune therefore from criticism?

I can't criticize Obama? He's immune? BS!

The only antidote to this lunacy is to not ever elect a person who can't be crtiicized due to his/her race.?

Now that's racist.

A Hillary Man

Submitted by libBuster on Sat, 10/23/2010 - 4:06pm.

Carville is a Hillary supporter. He sees blood in the water. He can't wait for the Republicans to take over.

That Category 5 storm means Hillary will challenge Obama.

My feelings are hurt. You called Carville a ragin cajun.

Carville is well known to be a ranting lunatic. There is a difference you know. Several posters at NB will be more than willing to meet with you and  explain the difference, little La history thrown in, oh and you buying the coffee.

We are guilty of having more than one or two goofballs. Donna Brazille, Mary Landrieu, Ellis Hennican, Ellen DeGeneres, Lisa Jackson (EPA) just to name a few.

BTW James Carville is from a small town Carville, La. It was the location of the last LEPER colony on the mainland if that helps explain a few things.

Aww come on...

Submitted by generalbroccoli on Sat, 10/23/2010 - 1:01pm.

He's just laying the groundwork for Hillary's run. If there's one thing Carville is, it's a political wh**e -- whatever works for whatever it is he's trying to accomplish. If he thought it would help the Clintons for him to jump on the 'racist' bandwagon, you'd better get out of his way or you'll have treads on your head.

Carville has to dismiss the equation . . .

Submitted by Galvanic on Sat, 10/23/2010 - 1:09pm.

. . . of criticism of Obama to racism because during the Gulf oil spill, Carville himself was fired up and criticizing Obama.

Therefore, failing to make the distinction would define Carville as a racist.

And I suspect that there's a larger strategy in play here.

Carville is a Clintonista, and after the election in November, the sharpened sticks will be out for Obama in the DP.

Carville will be one of those 'softening the target' for Hillary's potential run in 2012.  He has to lay the ground work that his mission has nothing to do with race.

HRC is probably already talking to those Dems running away from Obama.

There certainly will be---

Submitted by matthewdean on Sat, 10/23/2010 - 7:05pm.

an uncountable number of examples of hypocrisy when, if Hillary contests with Obama for the presidential slot on the Dem ticket in 2012, she and her supporters will have to explain how their criticism of Obamas failings are not racist, as are the very same charges when made by Republicans and/or conservatives.

Should be interesting.

The Democrats rejected Hillary when they consistently voted for Obama in the primaries and now they want America to resurrect this POS who wrote her senior thesis praising Saul Alinsky?

Carville et al, we didn't want Hillary in 2008 and the people still don't want her now -- take Obama with you too.

Submitted by okiehawk44 on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 1:31am.

I'm more than acqainted with Miss Hillary -- she's the same woman who claimed to have disembarked at an airport in Bosnia while under fire (with Chelsea in tow I might add) -- that was a lie. She claims her mother named her for Sir Edmund Hillary after he climbed Mt Everest -- another lie. She collected huge contributions from bundlers her husband did favors for as president and she did as a senator.

Jer this POS is just that. And all you folks who think you can change her spots to make her more palatable as some sort of middle of the road politician are full of s**t.

Even Democrats couldn't stand the smell of this woman. But keep up the myth Jer.

Submitted by ZuccoZoid on Sun, 10/24/2010 - 9:49am.

How many times are these people going to call us racists? If so many people who simply disagree are 'racist' how could 0bama have been elected at all?

We're not racists: that's a mean spirited charge and it's wearing thin. To be called a racist is a secular fatwa.
