Mark Levin Demands Retraction By Politico Concerning Palin Hit Piece

Conservative talk show host Mark Levin on Thursday demanded a retraction by Politico concerning statements made in Jonathan Martin's hit piece of the former Alaska Governor entitled "Hurricane Sarah."

In a Facebook posting, Levin said Martin's claim that Palin "backed out of planned interviews with conservative talk-show hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin the morning she was scheduled to talk to them" is "a flat out lie":

This is a flat out lie. Sarah Palin never backed out of any interview with me. Period. And John Martin, the reporter, never contacted me to ask me directly. I insist on a retraction.

 Here's what Martin wrote Thursday:

When Alaska's former governor released her book last fall, she repeatedly sought to move around scheduled media appearances with little notice.

According to a source familiar with the situation, she backed out of planned interviews with conservative talk-show hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin the morning she was scheduled to talk to them. And her multiple schedule changes so annoyed Glenn Beck that he finally decided not to have her on his radio or TV show to promote the book.

“These are people who support her,” said a frustrated source who knew about Palin’s treatment of the conservative talkers. “Her whole world is chaos.”

Will Martin and Politico retract?

Stay tuned.

*****Update: I just received the following via e-mail from Sean Hannity's radio producer, "Hannity joins Levin!"

I'd like to know the name of that "source familiar with the situation."

Is that the new politically correct term for information one gets from a friend of a friend's cousin's hairdresser?

After all, she "speaks as a 26 year old woman"......although having heard her speak, I doubt highly that she is, in fact, a 26 year old woman. Maybe she was thinking of her IQ?

No, it was Levi Johnson.  He knows soooo much about them he can probably "imagine" what's going on.

The MSM was doing this last

Submitted by Free Stinker on Thu, 10/21/2010 - 12:00pm.

The MSM was doing this last year too, falsely claiming Sarah Palin was going to be at some event then crying "She's Flakey!" when she didn't show. If they are doing this again maybe it's because they aren't getting any traction with their "Palin is stupid" lie. No wonder Sarah Palin calls the MSM the MBM - Make Believe Media

I wonder if Politico will

Submitted by motherbelt on Thu, 10/21/2010 - 12:10pm.

I wonder if Politico will follow the AP handbook and just revise the story without actually calling it a correction.

That's what AP did with the Chrisine O'Donnell/church-state separation issue.

The Anchores shows how they did it.  And provides other examples of their (deliberately?) shoddy practices.
