That's amazing.  He's saying that there was never an hour before where he forgot he was black?  I am usually in a state of forgetting he's black.

   Or is chrissy just saying he was able to personally stop obsessing that obama is black?  That he was able to momentarily stop his fixation of obama's skin color.  He says he was only able to do it for an hour so now I guess obama is now black again in chrissy's eyes.

When you say, "I didn't realize he was [fill in the blank]," you are making a normative assertion that your own race, religion, sex, marital status, sexual preference, etc., is the basis of defining the discussion. 

I had my ears bent back once when I made the mistake of telling someone I didn't realize he was [category].  He asked me whether I thought everyone was [white, married, heterosexual, male, Christian, etc.] just because I was? Etc. 

Would it have made a difference if Chris said, "For an hour tonight, I forgot that I was white"? Hmmm?

Seems like Chris has some deep seated racial issues. I mean does he see all people of color as just that? A Black man here, a white woman there..... I mean this is just some crazy talk. I mean of course we may notice the color of ones skin when we first meet them but after we get to know them or they become OUR PRESIDENT that should, I would think, go unnoticed. I mean I have friends that are Black but I don't see their color. I would not have thought of Obama's color if it were not for this Chris Matthews statement. I would not really have such an issue with this except that is Chris, Olby, and Maddow who I am sure all feel just a little superior when it comes to issues of race.

Matthews was saying president Obama was standing in front of all these white people. I also thought that Congress was predominantly Democrat these days. So I guess it is not only the Tea Parties that lack diversity, is it? The left lacks it too. How these people fail basic logic completely baffles me.
