As NewsBusters reported Thursday, the international television news network Russia Today has been doing an outstanding job of reporting the growing ClimateGate scandal.
On Wednesday, RT featured an absolute must-see debate between Piers Corbyn, a British weather forecaster and consultant who believes anthropogenic global warming is a dangerous scam, and Aleksey Korkorin, a Russian climatologist and contributor to the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
As you watch the following segment, try to imagine an American television news outlet besides Fox giving so much air time not only to a debate about this scandal, but also to a discussion about the very existence of global warming (video embedded below the fold with transcribed highlights of Corbyn's comments, h/t Marc Morano):
- The case [for anthropogenic global warming] is blown to smithereens [by this scandal], and this whole theory should be destroyed and discarded and Copenhagen conference should be closed.
- The world is cooling and has been cooling for seven years, and the leading scientists, so-called "scientists," have been trying to hide that evidence.
- The data, real data, over the last one thousand, ten thousand or million years, shows there is no relationship between carbon dioxide and world temperatures or climate extremes. Now we can see that actually the people in charge of data have been fiddling it, and they have been hiding the real decline in world temperatures in an attempt to keep their so called moral high ground.
- The Copenhagen jamboree is a scandal and it must be stopped.
- There is a gigantic bandwagon run by governments who want to control world energy supplies and hold back development in the third world. This thing they are doing now is just the same as they are doing in the banking crisis, it is creating a whole bubble of false values.
- Their claims are false, I repeat, they are false, and this theory they've got is like the Titanic and it will crash. I would suggest that honest green campaigners who want to preserve biodiversity should get off this [man-made global warming] bandwagon before it sinks.
- Carbon dioxide levels are driven by temps, not the other way around. There have been big peaks in CO2 in past...carbon dioxide is actually a good thing for the world...More CO2 makes plants and animals more efficient.
Think you'll see that kind of debate on non-Fox television any time soon?

If Al Gore is so convinced of the strength of his position, why won't he debate with anyone? Why does he flee in terror of skeptics questions? Why does he feel the need to ALTER pictures of the world with photoshop to paint impossible pictures of what the world will be like unless we bow to his 'new world order'?
Why won't any US scientists debate this unless it's on a rigged network like CNN or MSN-BS? They refuse to even show up unless the room is stuffed with news people who support their own views and help them shout down any and all difficult questions.
Is this responsible science? Is it responsible journalism? Is it anywhere even remotely near to the truth?
With every word they speak now, they demonstrate that they are liars and deceivers. They want a 'new world order' all right - they want a dictatorship of the intellectuals with themselves in absolute power. They're dangerous and must be stopped.

(1) The objective of the provision of financial resources is to promote equity and justice through further enhancement of the full, effective and sustained implementation of the [Copenhagan] Convention and the Bali Action Plan, so that the ultimate objective of the Convention can be achieved.
(2) The developed countries are to provide, and developing countries may avail themselves of, financial resources through bilateral, regional and other multilateral channels. [Translation: The U.S. will pay; China will be paid, since China is a "developing country"]
(3) The financial mechanism shall operate and function under the authority, governance and guidance of, and be fully accountable to, the COP [Committee of Parties], which shall decide on its policies, programme priorities and eligibility criteria, and allocation of resources for adaptation, mitigation, technology and capacity-building and any other function that may be determined by the COP. [Translation: The U.S. gives up its soverienty to a Global Control body in exchange for the privlage of paying whatever is demanded, and getting nothing in return].
(4) All developing country Parties shall be eligible for direct access to the financial resources [Translation: We give -- they (including China) take. Independent of U.S. treaties or judgement].
(5) Developed countries that meet agreed-to periodically reviewed criteria shall provide scaled-up, new and additional, sustainable, adequate, predictable and stable financial resources. An assessed contribution from developed countries based on the principles of equity, common but differentiated responsibilities, respective capabilities, GDP, GDP per capita, the polluter pays principle historical responsibility of historical climate debt, including adaptation debt, amounting to 2 per cent of gross national product. [Translation: Our punishment for having polluted the world since 1850-- this is what the world thinks we owe them].

As if we needed one more group of "professionals" besides politicians to loose esteem in the publics eye... and all of that hyperventilating over "their cause" was hiding childish third grade lying, cheating and deception all for 'approval' by the rest of us poor 'uninformed' morons for their nightmares.
While climate warms and climate cools, as a person who has had a long career in science, this does more to destroy the credibility of science (and world leaders) as a whole than having an intellectual zero, like Al Gore, as their pin up girl. Proving Anthropogenic warming has just been set back further than the paradox their data itself presented. Despite it's confounded (scientific term) results at least that had world leaders ready to sell each and every man child for the next 70 years into global government slavery without so much as a quick review of the summation. Now both groups look like intellectual hadicapped waitpersons while skeptics appear to have at least some vindication and validation for concerns over conclusions that never did add up to the proclaimed sum.

We have scientists who have hooked their star to AGW, we have Liberal Democrats who have done the same thing. We have television networks (NBC in particular) who have not reported this issue as it should have been. When this ship goes down, as it surely will, how many of them will it take with it.
As the networks lose the trust of the people can you imagine what Fox's numbers are going to be. They can get away with, "Oh, you heard that on Fox News, well it just can't be true." for so long. Today, with the internet, anyone wanting to find out about this can read the papers from the U.K. and find out quite a bit. Hell, the Democrats favorite U.K. paper, THE GUARDIAN, had their climate reporter George Monbiot, crying the blues about how bad this is, and yet our press is trying to sweep it under the rug.
Just like the people in California, who keep electing the liberals to office there, I don't feel sorry for the MSM. They've had plenty of opportunity to investigate it but, rather than do that, they've just become the media wing of the Democratic Party and need look no further. I don't feel sorry for them when their news departments close down because no one trusts them any more.

Fri, 11/27/2009 - 22:41 ET by rfpzzzzzWhether the world is warming or not has nothing to do with whether the scientist's work is fraudulent or that the computer models work as intended. It very well could be warming for many reasons but the issue is whether the data used by the scientists is valid and the predictive computer models which state that warming is man made actually work. The main thing that matters is that enough data is in the public domain and verified by impartial scientists and the models also stand up to the tests as well. Whether there is snow in Moscow or ice caps are melting is not important concerning the reality of the work of the man-made global warming proponents. You would think they would want all thier information out there if the world were really coming to an end. It is pretty easy to be skepical of people who seem to be hiding things that they feel is so important.

1. The reporter/interviewer asked questions and shut up. Can he come to the US and run ABC/CBS/NBC/etc?
2. Without help from the media the liberal has to actually debate and looks like a moron. You can see why our style media evolved. Liberals can't go toe to toe with someone armed with the truth.
3. There was enough time in the segment to actually do more than a soundbyte. Someone watching this actually got to hear a debate not a catch phrase with maybe some humor but no substance.
