Will Media Notice Pelosi's Hypocrisy Concerning Angry Rhetoric?

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal) expressed concern about today's caustic political tone telling reporters, "I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words."

Yet, when George W. Bush was in the White House, Pelosi was one of his most outspoken critics actually calling him a "total failure."

Pelosi also was a staunch supporter of protesters and "disruptors" before Barack Obama was elected.

Will media notice the obvious hypocrisy?

Here's what the second-most powerful person in the nation said on Thursday (video embedded below the fold with partial transcript):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. We are a free country, and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we carefully balance. I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw -- I saw this myself in the late `70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric was very frightening, and it gave -- it created a climate in which we -- violence took place. And so I -- I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made, understanding that some of the people -- the ears that it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume. But again, our country is great because people can say what they think and they believe. But I also think that they have to take responsibility for any incitement that they may cause.

Yet, this is what Pelosi had to say about President Bush a little over a year ago:

And, Pelosi didn't seem at all concerned with the anti-government views being expressed by some people back in 2006:

Will media notice this radical shift by Pelosi, or predictably give her a pass?

Will Media notice Peloci's hypocracy?

That is a joke? Right?

HAHAHAHAHA. HEHEHE. I didn’t even know about it. Um. So, you’ve got me at a loss. I don’t know. (Charles Gibson of the dead media.)

danbo--

My thoughts exactly...that was a rhetorical question, right?

Two words....

I have two words for this elitist POS-----TERM LIMITS!!!!!!!!!!!

What exactly DOES the MSM notice?

Will the media notice Queen Nancy's hoof-in-mouth disease?

Wait a minute - are you talking about the same media that lambasted Joe Wilson for his "you lie!" statement but was strangely silent when demoncrats shouted at President Bush during his SOTU address a few years ago? The same media that praised Jimmah Cahter for his "racism" comment but doesn't say a word about his shmoozing with world dictators? The same media that continues to espouse the so-called dangers of "global warming" but turns a blind eye to AlGore's 10,000+ square foot home nestled in the hills of the Volunteer State that sucks up more energy in one month than the average home does in a year?

Shall I go on?

Will the media notice Queen Nancy's hoof-in-mouth disease? Hmmm - let me sell you some prime real estate at the base of Mt. St. Helens, then will talk about it some more...

Pelosi and hypocracy

Dfallis

I'm still waiting for the media to notice that Pelosi is either high on drugs, or a complete sociopath. Any takers?

Dfallis, You need one more choice...

How about: "All of the above"?

"Why, she's no fun, she fell right over!" - Firesign Theatre

She did...

Her dripping eyes looked a little wild...I thought.

Pelosi is a sociopath

Pretty clear.  She is #1 in her mind and her "inconvenient truth" flip flops don't matter therefore!  The Earth rotates around her and the Oceans' tides move with her greatness.... M-B

Nancy is your Ox getting gored?

Nancy just doesn't like her Ox getting gored...too bad!! She set a very poor example of how to treat the office of President. What goes around, comes around Nancy! Don't remember her speaking against a town in her district that was voting to name a waste treatment plant after  President Bush. She has zero moral authority!!!

He who lives by the sword

He who lives by the sword (HOPEFULLY) perishes by the sword.

Democrats set level of public discourse.  They are pussies to cry about it now.

Hmmm...

I assume this is a rhetorical question?

Don't hold your breath.

Having personally met Nancy Pelosi, she comes off as the stupidest woman on the planet.  How she ever got elected or maintains her office is beyond me, but given the idiocracy of San Francisco politics I am not surprised.

Nancy's co-conspirators in the press will never force the issue.  Her hypocritical and hysterical verbal dysentery will be covered up, the same as the press did for Jack Kennedy's mistresses or Roger Clinton's drug problems.

Nancy Pelosi: If you want to appear sane then hang around losers

Take a good look at those with the signs hanging around nancyP.  A whose who of the photogenically challenged ignorant.

Why we missed it ...

"Um, there's so much news out there (Michelle Obama's fashion, President Obama's hook shot) that we didn't have time to focus on Pelosi's hypocrisy.  You should be grateful that we censor the news ... I mean filter the news, so that you know that there is accurate propaganda ... I mean news reporting, and not speculation."

-- The editors of the State-Run Media

If you're not outraged at the media, you haven't been paying attention.

How quickly they forget ...

Timothy Noah of Slate had some choice words in the past

Fleischer's letter encapsulates perfectly his dauntless black-is-white, up-is-down style of prevarication. It's a response to the following unexceptional passage in Paul Krugman's New York Times column of March 23:

After 9/11, the administration's secretiveness knew no limits—Americans, Ari Fleischer ominously warned, "need to watch what they say, watch what they do." Patriotic citizens were supposed to accept the administration's version of events, not ask awkward questions.

NAZI Pelosi

there, I said it. :P

The woman is the equivalent of the cartoon wicked witch.  She's a blithering idiot that goes through situations that should (politically, not literally) kill her and she shows up in the next scene unscathed and prissily smoothing her hair out.

I can't believe what she's gotten away with.  The media? HA! They ignore her like the old aunt at the dining table that is drunk and doing awkward things.

Love it! It's absolutely ASTOUNDING, the number of truth-stranger-than-fiction characters on the Dem side of the aisle crawling around in government today. Literally. Libs vote these people in because, I dunno, they reflect THEM, I guess.... Just total disfunction, irresponsibility, vices up the wazzoo (I'm sure), moody, etc..

And yeah, it's disgusting how they get a complete free pass. Her, Reid, Rangel (what a joke HE is), Frank (the biggest embarrassment ever -- and that's saying a LOT), and on and on...

A short play

"Speaker Pelosi, the people are revolting!"

"You've got that right!"

Almost paraphrasing History Of The World, Part 1!

If I may?

"Speaker, it is said that the people are revolting."

"You said it! They stink on ice!"

I wasn't sure if Nan was trying to suggest that unAmerican bigots weilding anti-government signs are likely to cause a lunatic staffer to kill a mayor and a homosexual...or if she was just having flashbacks.

At least we got to see her sensitive side. Poor Nan.

Was Queen Nancy

as scared about the violence of the homosexual protestors after the Prop 8 vote?  Did she mind them roaming the streets to bully old people and scan mailing lists to harrass contributors of their opposition?

Yeah, I know that I already know the answer.  Sorry for being racist, sexist and homophobic there.

Gun Control - The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

Tugboat

Nancy is not afraid of her own people.  It's the folks who think differently than she does who scare her.

"Reason and persuasion are the only practical instruments against error.  To make way for these, free inquiry must be indulged" - Thomas Jefferson

You mean like last weekend?

She gazed out at the throngs of people, numbering in the millions, gathered about the grounds of the United States Capitol amazed that so many came to grovel at her feet.

Only later, when a page mentioned that all them racist hicks didn't much care for her or the stench that surrounds her, did she begin to cry for the cameras begging for a sympathetic portrayal of her, in her hour of need.

Later she realized that her glasses had fogged over and there were really only fifteen or twenty people out there, it only looked like more.....

From Politco article by

From Politco article by Glenn Thrush, posted 17 Sep 2009:

Pelosi, according to her spokesman, Nadeam Elshami, was referring to Supervisor Dan White's murder of Milk and Moscone, the basis for last year's film "Milk."

Wasn't Dan White a Democrat?

http://www.pelicanmarsh68.blogspot.com

Yep, Dan White was a Democrat

Nancy should file this information under "We have met the enemy and he is us"*

Yes

Dan White was a White Democrat. And he murdered a guy with the last name Milk. No need for crayons here.

The second most powerful person in the nation?  So...it's:  1. Soros 2. Pelosi

Where does the President rank?

"What a revoltin' development this is!"

Curious!

I wonder if this means she is going to public apologize for time she called us unamerican and terrorist!

Probably not but hey if someone does shoot uncle bo!

she can blame herself steny hoyer and chris mathews!

I Certainly See It And It Ain't Pretty...

And I would also say the same about former President Carter. Even though I agree with him that there is somewhat of a racist issue going on with President Obama, I still haven't forgotten about the way he disparaged President Bush about his agenda, and because of that, I can't trust Carter. I'll agree with him on this one issue, but I don't trust him on the whole. Nor do I trust Pelosi, whom as far as I'm concerned, should be sharing a prison cell with Tom DeLay. That's about as broad as my definition of trust will encompass.

This is "somewhat of a racist issue"?? Based on what?

I mean, that's just nonsense.

In eight months, we've gone from "Oh, what a momentous, historical thing that this country could elect an African-American to the Presidency--how far we've come as a nation!" to "Oh, the people are so racist to attack Obama--how far we have to go as a nation."

Which is it?

This country elected the first American dictator.  When he starts acting like a dictator, not everyone's overjoyed.  And that includes some of the people who were duped into voting for Obama.  But when people push back at the encroaching dictatorship, it can't be because of his policies, it has to be because of his ethnicity?

That's a childish mentality, and too many people are too willing to embrace it. Obama either needs to compete in the arena of ideas, or get out before he's thrown out, Zelaya-style.  Barry should stop letting his surrogates sling race cards like so many brickbats; the problem with throwing stones at your opponents is that, sooner or later, your opponents have all the stones.

My letter to polesi

Well guy if this don't put me on the terrorist list nothing will

I sent this to the speaker

Dear Mrs Pelosi,I would like to address, your statement, regarding, taking responsibility for our actions and our words! Now Mam, You demanded Mr Wilson apologize for his outburst!Well how about your being responsible and apologizing for calling people unamerican?Along with Mr Hoyer. Then you can have The other congressman who said We the people are to stupid to live our lives without the government telling us how.Allow Me to explain myself mam.My significant other spends money like a fish drinks water!Talking to her changed nothing! I thought that hypnosis may be the cure! How ever not being able to afford this I tried to learn to do it myself!I never mastered the hypnosis but I did learn analysis! So well in fact I have to actually turn off that part of my brain to enjoy a movie. With that said, I have been following the teaparty reports, and all that has been going on.Yourself and congress have incited many things!People are not willing to tolerated being called the names, listen to the statements made, and just lye down.People have tried to peaceably address their grievances and you the congress have in the words of the young lady at Mr Specter's Town Hall said "Have awoken a sleeping giant"Now mam no one wants to resort to violence, but when you refuse to listen, and totally disrespect them, what do expect!I know as a father, one of the saddest things I ever saw, was watching JFK, and see his son stand and salute as the procession as it went by!I know in my heart of hearts, although I disagree with some of the policies, Mr Obama is a father, and the last thing I would want is for his children to live that! However Mrs Pelosi when you label people as terrorist, for liking an independent, Or putting our war heroes in a category with a mentally unstable like Timothy Mcvae! What would you expect! A long time ago there was this guy named king George the 3rd.He ruled a budding outpost of his kingdom. He ruled in a manner in which the people did not agree! And they tried to tell him so!Well ole George just didn't care, Now The people said we no longer need you!You see mam Ole George begged for the hand them ole boys dealt him!As does the congress today!Instead of dismissing the people, and name calling, what you should be doing is addressing those grievances!Again nobody wants to go to extremes but we the people are red blooded Americans!,and if that's the hand you beg of us well that's the hand you get dealt! In all honesty If I could advise Mr. Obama on one thing, That advice would be:When people gather in protest, if the media portrays false information, with out proper investigation. Then the fcc will revoke their license and the reporter jailed or fined or both!Let's put the shoe on your foot here a minute.Put Nancy as a single mom working 25 hrs a week, to support her 2 children, and she looses her job!Now the kids are hungry, theres a pack your things note on the door!Ask your self seriously...Would you be perturbed If we called you all these names without every wondering why your mad! Yes Mam you are correct on one thing, we should all take responsibility for our actions, Where you are wrong Mam is upon the ears which your words fall! They fall on that mom, and dad who want to provide food and shelter for their kids! They fall upon voters, voters mam who you choose to ignore, belittle and unjustly label! They fall upon those same voters who in a few short months will be standing in the polls!, and will remember your responsibility for your actions! They fall upon those who you scoff and belittle, those who hold the power to make you stand in the cold on a rainy day, Asking your voice be heard, while your Representative sits in a plush chair thinking of what names to call you next! Names and labels unjustly bestowed upon you because your jobless and you have concerns for your kids!Yes Madam Speaker we are all responsible for our words and action! And if I could give you some advice mam,That advice would be, be responsible for your own and appologize to the citizens of this country then listen to them when they tell you which way the choose to be led!More over mam do not ask for that which you do not wish to receive! God forbid violence befall Mr.ObamaBut If it does mam there is good reason for speculation that your own actions contributed to that outcome! For the sake of his children Mam How about a little of that hope and change!RespectfullyAllen J Watkins
