"I like having the freedom of contract, to do business with whoever I damn well please" Wouldn't you have the freedom of choosing to keep you insurance if you like, the government is not forcing you into the public option (assuming there will be one).  If you get off your ass and READ THE BILL, you will see on page 16 that private insurance policies can no longer be written after the law comes into force.  There goes my freedom of contract.  There goes my ability to do business as I damn well please.  And projections are that the public "option" as it is called in such Orwellian fashion will get 88 million people dumped into it as businesses cheerfully get rid of those they agreed to insure when they hired them. 

 Shouldn't the 40+ million have an option for receiving health care.  They do already.  No hospital can refuse treatment on the basis of the ability to pay.  If one has, show me a case; if you do, the very first thing I will ask you is why you haven't told a state attorney general about it.  And if their lack of insurance still causes you to cry painful tears of guilt into your pillow every night, then you always have the option of giving to charity, or getting off your ass and starting a charity.   

 I like the idea of a choice, for both a private and public option.  You have 1300 private options and that STILL isn't enough???  You don't want a public "option" - YOU WANT TO BE BABIED by the federal government at MY (and millions of other taxpayers') expense because you are too lazy/whiny/pathetic to pay for your own damn doctor.

But you like the insurance companies to tell you.   The insurance company tells me nothing - I'm not insured.  And even when I WAS insured, they refused to pay for my twice-yearly visits to my dental hygienist for the longest time becuase the hygienist wasn't "theirs".  The 24enak approach to this dilemma is to sit on the ground and scream like a temper tanturm throwing 2 year old, demanding the government come and baby you.  Me: I took something called a checkbook to that hygienist.  I figuratively gave the middle finger to my insurance company and did business with who I damn well pleased. 

You have so much learning to do it is sickening.  Just because the insurance company says no doesn't mean a damn thing.  You can still get it done; you just have to use other means. 

So explain the Lincoln memorial (which looks like the Parthenon), Mt. Rushmore, naming the Capital after the first president, and all the statues around the US of every president, every grave site and library as landmarks. Or the face of our money, and I could go on.   Tell me something: what is the difference between those politicians we have on Mt. Rushmore, on our currency, and so on, and His Majesty The Shahinshah?  Think REAL LONG AND HARD ON THAT. 

For instance, I suspect there was a move afoot for some time to replace one of CA's statues in Statuatory Hall in the U.S. Capitol with Reagan, and indeed, it will happen, if it hasn't already.  Do you know what event had to occur for Reagan to receive that honor? 

Operative word being been you haven't lived under those regimes. You have been to these places so you should know there is no comparison from those places to America.  Sweetie, you are still stupidly trying to scold and lecture me on that of which you know nothing.  As I have been there, I do not feel the need to venerate politicians as if they are deities.  This is what goes on in those countries.  As this is the United States, I see no need to emulate dictatorships as you seem so deeply eager to do. 

If there is no comparison between those places and the United States, we don't need to be acting like them.  But you are too blind , happily worshipping His Majesty The Shahinshah as Christ to figure that out. 

 You could not be more wrong, I voted for Bush in '04, and will never vote a straight ticket, I vote for the man, not the party.  Next I suppose you will offer me a great deal on a bridge linking Manhattan to Brooklyn.   And do you know what the real irony is. When those that called Bush a totalitarian, Hitler it was the right that cried 'loons' and 'crazy protesters'. Now that the other party is in office the roles have reversed. It is the right calling Obama a Hitler, totalitarian leader, and the left calling those people crazy.  Well, unfortunately for you, you have a very severe reading problem.  I have spelled out for you how your God wants to RULE, not govern, the United States.  Now, I wouldn't compare Him to other historical figures, but He does in fact want to rule the country.  Whine all you want about me saying this, but I can only go on what He does, not on what He says.  What the hell am I supposed to conclude?

And if this was a dictatorship it would be the government that was mandating that the images of Obama be put up, but their not. There is a BIG difference.  Listen, dummy.  I know reading isn't your strong suit, but I do not care if that imagery is being put up at the point of a gun or not!  That is behavior for dictatorships, not the United States of America!!!

And just because you don't have images of politicians in your home doesn't mean other can't, I thought you like freedom.  This is the same crap argument that people use on here whenever Mr. Bozell posts a column on a television program he doesn't like.  He criticizes it; 300 posts will follow on how Mr. Bozell is a big, evil censor.  Please show me where I said people shouldn't be allowed to do that.   Having a picture, or poster in your home doesn't mean your deifying them. There is a difference between deifying and admiring people.   If it is of a politician, as I cited way the hell above in an example that comes to me by way of my father, it is extremely spooky.  That doesn't bother you in the least because you cannot function without government, apparently.  From the looks of things you don't believe your heart can beat without a law decreeing that it do so; or that the only reason you are here on earth is because your parents were ordered by law to copulate 40 weeks before your birth. 

What people has Obama surrounded him with that want to bring back the fairness doctrine, I thought you would have 'informed' me with some names, or proof. Obama has said that if, IF, the fairness doctrine bill were to make it through the house and senate (which won't happen) he wouldn't sign it into law.  You want names, and proof?  You haven't been reading NB nearly enough.  There have been ENTIRE THREADS dedicated to this on NB.  Go to the search engine and enter the words "Fairness doctrine" and see what threads come up. 

By the way, "which won't happen" is crap.  Campaign finance reform wasn't supposed to happen either.  I beat my head into the desk as Bush signed it with a rationale of "don't worry, the SCOTUS will strike it down!"  It was upheld.  From the looks of things, I'd be willing to bet you are lying through your teeth about voting for Bush in 2004.  At least I HOPE you are.  Because if you are that old..wow, I feel very sorry for you.  Not very bright and laughably, dangerously naive...it's not a good combination to have
