Radio's Don Imus appeared on a special Labor Day edition of "Hannity" Monday evening, and really let President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have it.
In a no holds barred discussion on Fox News, Imus said he thought Obama "was a hypocrite and a phony," and that Biden, in the 100 times he's interviewed him, has said "far worse things" than he's ever said on radio.
In Imus's view, Biden's "a moron" (video embedded below the fold with partial transcript, h/t Story Balloon):
DON IMUS, RADIO HOST: Even my own personal experience with [Barack Obama], and I thought he was a hypocrite and a phony, but, I mean Plugs is even worse, Biden. Because, I've had Biden on my program a hundred times, and he's said far worse things than I ever said. And, and making fun of going to 7-11s. I mean, I was just trying to be funny and be hip which was stupid. But I'm not offering that as an excuse for what I said. I'm just saying he is, he, because he's a moron, Joe Biden, has said a lot worse things. [...]
But I also think, and I said at the time when he was running, let's hope he's not, doesn't turn into Jimmy Carter. But, which I think he has. I think it's inexcusable that he appointed these people, these Goldman Sachs people, and these other people, to orchestrate this whole phony stimulus thing that could very well ruin this country. [...]
So, I think he's, I don't, I think it's business as usual. He's appointed too many questionable people. I don't, I, you know, I think, he's a lovely guy, and, and, but I mean if you can't give a speech without a teleprompter, and, you know, I just, I think he means well, I just don't think he knows what he's doing.

I don't know about FOX, but
September 8, 2009 - 03:33 ET by rockyracoonI don't know about FOX, but he was picked up to do the morning drive for 770 WABC in NYC, about a year or so ago. Whether that progam is syndicated I don't know.
What I do know is that the only people that seem to have stuck by Imus, after the "nappy headed hos"nonsense, was conservative talk radio folks, such as Hannity.
BTW I completely agree w/Imus.
Imus will be on Fox
September 8, 2009 - 11:57 ET by steve2526Imus will be on Fox Business Network beginning on Oct. 5

I saw half the interview, never cared for Imus and care for him now less with his embarrassing put-downs of his - I assume granddaughter sitting next to him - on camera.
I have always liked Imus.
September 7, 2009 - 22:15 ET by mostlymoderateI have always liked Imus. He was a little tough on Bush and I clinched my teeth many times but the guy speaks his mind. In this case, he is right on about Biden. It still amazes me how Dan Quayle was ridiculed non-stop many years ago; however, Biden gets a free ride on the "MSM Express".

September 7, 2009 - 22:25 ET by Cool ArrowObama apparently had no problem with Biden's observation that black kids are inferior students. In fact, it wasn't until after this epiphany by Plugs that Obama chose Biden as his VP running mate.
Must be Obama's understanding of how a typical white man thinks.

September 7, 2009 - 22:37 ET by RESTLESS 1I do think that minority are more ignorant, but as least I don't think they are inferior.
Might have something to do with culture.

He didn't say anything about the culture of victimhood he's fostered for decades. He laid it squarely on the skin color.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE?
September 8, 2009 - 01:45 ET by reasonsjesterWhat will it take for people to realize that Obama intends to destroy the institutions that made this country great?
Obama ran on a platform of "transformational change." This is the only campaign promise he has kept thus far. He has changed the U.S. from a prosperous and secure nation to a kow-towing economic basketcase in a matter of months. And we haven't gotten to the really good stuff yet! Climate change legislation, nationalized healthcare, amnesty for illegal aliens, censorship of talk radio and the Internet, all this and much more waiting in the wings...
Much like the left couldn't figure out if Bush was an idiot or an evil mastermind who used 9/11 as a pretext to invade two countries overseas (which incidentally destroyed his approval ratings, even as the "war for oil" charge proved false), many moderates and liberals keep looking at Obama as a naive, well-intentioned young man who just happens to keep doing the exact wrong thing for this nation, instead of the radical nemesis of the republic that he is. It is no surprise that the left has no judgment, since they have been taught not to display it their entire lives by a defunct educational system.
A few questions for anyone left who may think Obama is a loyal, patriotic American who simply seeks to change a "broken" system: How can someone love America and seek to weaken its defenses by attacking the intelligence agencies who have kept us safe since 9/11? How can one love America and then declare war on small business owners, the heart of this country, by taxing them as "rich" people who make over $250,000 gross income? How can one love America and call anyone who opposes one's policies "extremist" or "racist"?
How can anyone look at the actions of Obama and his minions and see nothing but vile anti-American attacks on a nearly daily basis?
If someone is not able to see this, I question his sanity. It is clear as day. Obama, ideologically, is a radical socialist, who is using fascist means to gain control over the economy, and who seeks to destroy the U.S. Constitution and every traditional American institution. Period. No apologies, no disclaimers.
What will it take for the great majority of people to see this? Fifteen, twenty percent unemployment? The destruction of the dollar? Another terrorist attack (though this is unlikely, as Obama is doing a better job destroying this country than any terrorist could ever dream of)? Censorship of talk radio and the Internet? A decree making Obama dictator for life?...

September 8, 2009 - 01:58 ET by Cool ArrowThere still exist many foolish Americans who think if they just hold on five more minutes, things will turn, the clouds will part, and it's all bright sunshiney day.
These same individuals won't cut their losses when the market turns south, and won't break up with a pole-dancer because if they can just "be there for her" she'll change her ways and see only him.
PT Barnum lived for their continued replication. I don't think he was often disappointed.

So,after reading the missive
September 8, 2009 - 07:16 ET by jdhawkSo, after reading the missive below, who is the moron: our elected representatives like "plugs" or us for electing them?
> Earlier this year, we Taxpayers received an Economic Stimulus Payment. The Obama Administration was very excited about this program. Let me try to explain to you how it works using a simple Q and A format:
>
> Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?
> A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
>
> Q. Where will the government get this money?
> A. From taxpayers.
>
> Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
> A. Only a smidgen.
>
> Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
> A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
>
> Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
> A.. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus checks wisely:
>
If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.
> If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
> If you buy a computer, it will go to India.
> If you buy fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
> If you buy a car, it will go to Japan.
> If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan.
> If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
>
> Instead, keep the money in America by:
>
> 1 Spending it at yard sales, or
> 2 Going to ball games, or
> 3 Spending it on prostitutes, or
> 4 Beer or
> 5 Tattoos.
>
> These are the only American businesses still operating in the US.
What economic stimulus payment?
September 8, 2009 - 09:43 ET by JWFI never got an economic stimulus payment. Maybe because I did not vote for Obama?

say what?
September 8, 2009 - 08:32 ET by skypilott2Imus says it's good that we 'put a black face' in the White House.
What a racist thing to say! (Why did Hannity not call him on it, and have him explain why skin color should trump ideology?)
Nevermind that the 'black face' is attempting to change our core institutions based on free enterprise to something which Castro and Chavez would be envious.
So what if that black face apologizes for the greatness of this country to avoid having a shoe thrown at him? And to think there are people in this country who sided with the shoe thrower...what a disgrace!
Poor old Imus just can't seem to keep his thoughts straight.
Joe 'hair plugs' Biden is not the problem --- Obama is!!
tired of liberal lies I
September 8, 2009 - 22:50 ET by stunnedtired of liberal lies
I heard him comment that it wasn't the worse thing we did by "putting a black face in the WH" to show the world who we are, not the racist mean ugly Americans that the liberal media here and abroad have been portraying us to be over the past few years. I didn't think it was a racist comment, people throw that word around too much. He seemed sympathetic to Obama at first although he rooted and voted for McCain but as time has gone by he is becoming more critical with the spending and he appointments. His recent comments on how Obama isn't competent, doesn't know what he's doing and seems lost have been very funny and very critical. The bloom is off the rose.
