"I wrote this song with the great Phil Springer. Take a moment to listen to the words. You don't have to agree with everyone's politics...none of us agree 100% of the time. But you have to admire a lifetime dedicated to public service and improving the lives of others -- and that is just one of the many things that made Ted great. I think this song captures a small part of Ted's legacy of service. Listen to it and see what you think."
So wrote Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Ut.) about his friend the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.).

This is why Orrin I have no respect for you "But you have to admire a lifetime dedicated to public service and improving the lives of others"
I can admire Ted's dedication...but I disagree that he improved the lives of others in his dedication, he did more harm than good. I admired Ted for being a real fighter...you on the other hand were too quick to compromise.

Couldn't agree more, I saw this yesterday or whenever the heck it was... he has more than disgusted me in the past, even recently with his nod for some of the nominations O has put forward with his sickening floor speeches....
Another one I heard yesterday was little Lindsey Graham, I looked all over the place for an audio of video of the whole gushing statement he made regarding Kennedy..only found a partial.
Nevertheless...you do not know how bad I hope these back-stabbing RINOs are voted out...can the GOP/RNC please, please put some real conservatives in the running against these old DC loving each other buddies and back them with $$$ etc.
I know...it isn't going to happen...I still can wish.

August 28, 2009 - 19:05 ET by jdlybrandI can guarantee you my Senator (Flimsy Grahamnesty) already got an earfull from yours truely regarding his vote for Sotomayor, and amnesty legislation he backed. He's as conservative as a sweet smelling skunk. Everytime I've called or written Jim Demint; I've recieved a reply. Not once via e-mail, snail-mail, or phone has Lindsay ever responded to me. He's not only a RINO, he's a joke.

August 29, 2009 - 11:08 ET by BDBoy do I feel that. In my case I will vote for ANYONE that is not John McCain the next time he comes up for election here in Arizona. His "Bipartisanship based on Egotism" has ruined his credibility as far as I am concerned.
Both he and Hatch made big points at the Kennedy Memorial of how they did not take it personnally when they disagreed with Kennedy at work, they were always invited to the Christmas Party at the Kennedies. They could always count upon Teddy to personnally be a fun guy.
Well, excuse me, I WANT my representatives to take things personnally, especially when the other side seeks to remove my liberty.
Years ago when I was In Korea I watched the local Korean television news show both politial parties engage in fisticuffs on the floor of their legislature. It was a glorious riot that only Koreans could engage in...and a far more honest form of government than we have. Instead we have leadership who engages in sham battles on the floor by day and parties with each other all night because they "Belong to the club" that is the Senate.
Hatch needs to retire and someone honest chosen instead.

bt, both Hatch and Bennett were roundly booed at our 15 April Tea Party in Salt Lake City. These two RINO's have lost their shine here in Utah!
I'm fairly confident, both of these RINO's will be voted out next election.
Hopefully our good friends in Arizona can do something about the "King of RINO's!"

I'm pi$$ed at the Dems for what they're doing currently, but I'm equally furious at our RINO enablers like: Graham, McLame, Snowe, Collins and others.
Could you believe McLame at his Town Hall defending Obama? WTF! I've lost every bit of respect I had for this media-whore. I guess Megan McLame didn't drop to far from the apple tree!
Sorry RINO's, I'm NOT leaving the GOP...you can!!

Then again, what I see happening from the left is a good thing...let them keep on digging...and they will, it's now or never, desperation time for them on the threshold they are at now...going to be nothing but good for our side in the long run of it all...I just feel it./
Look at what is happening across this country...people are waking up..speaking out and not going to take it anymore!

August 28, 2009 - 22:53 ET by Svenbt,
Indeed!
I think one good thing from all that's happened is; we as conservatives have been forced to go back (in a very strong way!) to our core principles!
I think this current fiasco being brought on the American people by Obama and the Dems will finally push many wishy-washy moderates, and independents to the conservative side!
Do these Dems really believe it's just Republicans at these Town Halls? If they do, they're dumber than I suspected!

Just let 'em try!
What you've just stated is being touted about on the blogs! Many are just waiting for there to be some type of "emergency" where martial law just might have to be imposed!
Just let them keep pushing: ObamaCare, Crap & Tax, The Czars, Silencing Talk Radio, Investigating the CIA, while letting terrorists go free, and just recently, giving Obama power to shut down the internet during an "emergency!"

Nobody in this country was made better,... well, a bunch of his political allies, contributors, labor union leaders, criminals, his family certainly got a lot of help on the family trust taxes....
But the "Poor" they keep telling us about are still poor.
Why is it that he helped send 40 trillion dollars to 'help the poor', and out of enough money to give 40 million people each a million dollars, and there are no "Formerly Poor" millionaires in the ghettos?

I have been avoiding the Kennedy coverage like the plague...
August 28, 2009 - 17:15 ET by jawebster1but has anyone mentioned how he let himself go in his later years? He was a fine looking young man (I saw him in person in 1960) but as he grew old, he looked terrible. He was bloated, morbidly overweight, stooped over and could barely walk. How could his devoted wife and family allow this to happen? Even old Joe, before he got sick and died, looked better as did his sister, who died recently. Jim Webster

plane crash that killed a pilot and one of Kennedy's aides. Along with

He may have been treated with cortisone for his back pain. He also took blood pressure medication and cholesterol-lowering drugs and, prior to the diagnosis of his brain tumor, had surgery to clear a blocked carotid artery.

August 28, 2009 - 22:41 ET by ConservativeRexIt's fine and well that we in NB's recognize who all of the RINOS are. What we need though, is to get this message to the folks in the states these knuckleheads represent. And have them get off of their asses and work against these RINO's. If they need help, ask us, we'll help them any way they need! Furthermore, we need the Senators that aren't RINOS to once and for all speak out against these back-stabbers.
You don't see the dad gummed liberals accepting any criticism from someone in their ranks. I am getting damn tired of the GOP accepting it from within their ranks. From here on out just give me a Conservative to vote for. The only damn thing I want in the middle of the road is a stripe or a flattened armadillo.

August 29, 2009 - 08:38 ET by okiehawk44I can't help but observe Hatch's attachment and virtual adoration of this horrendous excuse for a human being -- Kennedy.
He reminds me of another Mormon I knew back in HS in Oklahoma many years ago who liked to be known for his dedication to his church and living a clean life but who loved to hear all the stories we non-Mormons could tell him about girls and sex.
This is not an anti-Mormon screed -- it IS an anti-Hatch screed.

And here's to you, Miss Kopechne
Teddy drove you home that fatefull day (Hey hey hey)
You took a ride, Miss Kopechne
In a car with Teddy Kennedy
(he ran away... left you to die that day)
And here's to you, Miss Kopechne
Teddy drove you home to God that day (Hey hey hey)
He ran to his family
and ten hours later told police
(he ran away... and learned to lie that day)
Where have you gone, Joseph Kennedy
A nation suffers from your kids today (Hey hey hey)
What's that you say, Miss Kopechne
Lyin' Ted has left and gone away
(woo woo woo, woo woo woo)
