O'Reilly Slams Olbermann's Claim Fox Viewers Are Paranoids and Racists

On Tuesday, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann said Fox News is "serving propaganda to tin foil hatters, conspiracy theorists, paranoids and racists."

On Wednesday, Fox's Bill O'Reilly struck back.

Speaking during his "Pinheads & Patriots" segment during Wednesday's "O'Reilly Factor," the leading voice on cable news once again went after NBC (video and partial transcript embedded below the fold, h/t TVNewser):

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: On the pinhead front, a media story worth watching. The National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC, is on the verge of collapse. If Jay Leno fails at 10 p.m. this fall, the entire NBC operation will be doomed for yet another year.

NBC president Jeff Zucker has ruined that once-fine company, and now desperation is setting in. Not only is the NBC network in last place, but their cable operations are a disaster. CNBC is down 23 percent this August, year to year. MSNBC down 25 percent.

Incredibly, NBC continues to lie about their ratings, saying that MSNBC is actually prospering.

Here's the truth. Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer at FOX News at 9 a.m. in the morning beat MSNBC's 8 p.m. hour by a whopping 37 percent. I mean, how embarrassing is that?

Last night on MSNBC, someone said the people -- you guys -- who watch FOX News are paranoid and racist. That should tell you everything you need to know about the entire NBC situation. Pinhead doesn't begin to cover it.

No, it doesn't.

Me? Paranoid?

The ony reason I'm paranoid is because everybody's out to get me.  ;)

This just pisses me off

My liberal friends always resort to the racist claim.  But hey, I don't like Nancy Pelosi's policies either.  Does that make me sexist????  As far as being paranoid is concerned, when the far left control everything in government, how can you help but be paranoid???

sexism and paranoia

According to the laws of liberalism, which is whatever they need it to be to accomplish what they want (the end justifies the means) yes we would be sexist for not agreeing with Nan. BTW.....just because we're paranoid doens't mean Barry is not watching us.

FF

FF,

And, the fact that you ARE paranoid doesn't mean people AREN'T out to get you!!! :-)  ns

NS - WOW!

Wow!  You're absolutely right!  This opens a whole new dimension for me.  I need to call my therapist.  ;)

~I'm sorry

I'm all booked up with liberals in full panic mode. After I get them to come out from underneath the table and stop sucking their thumbs, we'll talk.

FF, don't

call him.  He's out to get you, too.  Whatever he consigns to his records will be available to the Feds, and probably the Obama Civilian Defense Corps, too.

UpNorth - that explains it

I THOUGHT he was starting to act strange - always asking questions and writing down the things I say.  It's all becoming clear now.

I'm going to go out in the garage and sand off my fingerprints.

You jest, but there is

You jest, but there is truth in what you're saying.

Look at the big picture: Libs are, as per usual, trying to expand government power over the lives of individuals.  Conservatives, if they're true to their beliefs, try to limit the power of government over individuals.

Between the two, who should people be paranoid about if not the Libs?

Nah...

that just makes you botoxist. :-D

too bad for Olbermann

ideology doesn't pay the bills.

candance

No but his sponsors do.  Maybe we should go after OB's sponsors like the left is going after Beck's.

Liberalism: The haunting feeling that someone, somewhere, can help themselves.

Aren't they the same companies?

Perhaps it is time for a class action slander suit against these so called media people. After all it is slander to call people names like that right?

“Less 1984 — More 1776"

OB's sponsors

you would have to go after the Fed then...MSNBC is funded by GE which is funded by Obama

GE, WE BRING EVIL TO LIFE...

 candance,

Paying bills ain't a problem for good old BathTubBoy. Remember that this @$$hole is paid $7million plus a year to host a show on a network that received a buttload of gov't bailout money. In other words, he is paid by the taxpayer, & he works for us. How sad it that.

I love how Bill didn't even acknowledge KO by naming him as the nitwit who said it.

As much as I'd like to hear

As much as I'd like to hear someone bash Bathtub Boy by name, this makes O'Reilly and Fox News the better man, which will drive PMSNBC even more insane!

Their 3 remaining viewers must be furious!

Call me partisan, but...

... a youtube video of Megyn going food shopping would still whomp The Evil Orange Cone on any given night.

I'd rather...

...watch a still photo of Megyn with small talk from a Chinese cocktail party in the background, than anything they have on the 'Peacock' stations.

I'm going to attempt an argument here...

so anyone with some legal background, please chime in with your thoughts. And let me be clear that I do not believe that "hate speech" is a legitimate legal claim, argument, entity, what have you; however:

MSNBC is a for-profit operation, as is FoxNews, ABC, CBS, and even Comedy Central. Each of these networks broadcasts some type of "news" programming and presumably people tune in at least partially for that aspect. I mention Comedy Central because of Stewart and Colbert, though I think they're immune to my argument given the name of their network.

Tylenol, Bayer, and Motrin are for-profit operations also, and each of these companies offers pain medication in varying products.

If Tylenol decided they were going to slander Motrin by saying the medication they provided was unhelpful and may actually be harmful to it's users, and on top of that, anyone using Motrin was an anti-semite, wouldn't they be liable for some kind of defamation? As it happens, I mostly prefer Motrin for my headaches, so wouldn't Tylenol be calling me an anti-semite simply because I find Motrin to be a better product? And if so, would I not have some sort of recourse in a court of law if they were making this claim on national television during a primetime broadcast?

It seems to me that KO called me a tin-foil hatter, conspiracy theorist, paranoid, and/or racist, simply because I chose to watch a particular competing network. If I went around calling Ed Shultz a "fat-headed Nazi", Rachel Maddow a... well, some disparaging homosexual remark, Chris Matthews "Rachel Maddow", or Tamron Hall a racial slur, what would happen to me?

I realize that people can choose not to watch KO, and, if it weren't for NB, I'd never know what the idiot is saying. But in the case of the pain med commercials, who's position is to reach out to viewers and pursuade them to purchase their product vs. some other product, wouldn't they be forced to remove their ad if they were slandering the other product and it's users? Not simply because consumers wouldn't stand for it, but because the FCC does actually have rules?

Help, anyone?

No profit expected

I say GE considers NBC/MSNBC as its lobbying organization, and as such doesn't demand a profit from it. This is a danger when a giant industrial corporation owns a media network. Would the liberals tolerate Halliburton or Exxon-Mobil purchasing ABC or CBS or CNN? Why is it okay for GE to own NBC etc?

Seriously, we should think of laws against giant corporations owning media outlets when their core business is not media. That might sound a little anti-1st, but I can also present it as pro-1st.

I think Olbermann knows he is an ass & an idiot.

I think that behavior is

I think that behavior is probably mandated in his contract.

No citizen's right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, or property is safe as long as Obama is President of the United States.

Maybe they should get out more often.

I've linked to your post from "Exposing Bias and Deception at NBC" http://www.jeremiahf...

They slowly are making themselves irrelevant - people are turning to other sources to get the complete story. They no longer can be gate keepers of information, they need to do actual journalism and have informed commentary instead of fantacy.

It's better to help bring

It's better to help bring down the entire country than to allow even the remotest of possibilities that someone somewhere thinks you to be a racist.

I don't consider myself a racist.  I just despise those who hate people because they're white.

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 86% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory.

NBC should take note

If NBC would turn it's attention to conservative ideas and concerns then their rates would increase and so would their revenue.

NBC fire the liberals in your ranks and reset the Idea that you are for the people and not for the Democratic party.  report the truth not distortions or Liberal political agenda's, and follow the real people of real values that made America what is is.

NBC make the change and you will prosper

That's good, sound advice but they will never do it because they are owned by GE and GE is in bed with the Obama administration.  They will attempt to resolve their problems the Liberal way:  by using government regulation and intimidation to stifle their competition.

Just take a look at what's happening with the Glenn Beck show now.  No one who opposes him is attacking him on the validity of his reporting.  They are trying to shut him down by driving away his advertisers.

It's the Liberal way of doing things.
