Specter Only Mocks Republicans At Pittsburgh Comedy Club

Most Republicans likely already think Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Penn.) is a joke, and Thursday evening he proved it when he took the stage at a Pittsburgh comedy club.

Appearing at the Improv in a benefit for Allegheny county's Music Festival Fund for children, Specter poked fun exclusively at Republicans including Bob Dole, Dan Quayle, Trent Lott, Alfonse D'Amato, and Howard Baker.

Proving just how much his allegiances have changed since his defection to the Democrats, although some of the material was taken from a previous routine he had done at the Washington Improv in 2007, a joke which back then involved Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden now featured Sarah Palin, John McCain, and Rudy Giuliani (videos in two parts embedded below the fold, sexual content warning, h/t Huffington Post):

In the end, Specter actually did a pretty good job, but couldn't he have done ONE joke about a Democrat?

Or is that not allowed now that he's one of them?

This two-faced, lying fraud of a senator is going down so hard

...in the primaries that he is going to bounce 100' into the air.

May as well go ahead and fork him, 'cause he be done.

I am hoping that he makes

I am hoping that he makes it through the primaries so that a Republican can beat his ass and expose him for light weight weasel that he is.

You Have to Marvel at the Man

Here is a man who accepted help from George Bush, Rick Santorum and the Republican Party to win a tight re-election campaign in 2004.  Republicans put up with his eccentric voting record. What does he do? He bolts the party. and ...

Most Republicans were glad to see Specter go.

That's what pisses off the

That's what pisses off the GOP rank and file about the Party: They have helped people who they should have opposed and they fail to help people who really deserve it.

Example:  In 2008 a black Republican woman was running against Keith Ellison in Mpls, and the local GOP gave her ZERO help.  They figured she'd lose anyway - and they were probably right - but they never think about the future.  The GOP never looks past the current election and rarely, if ever, takes the opportunity of an election to promulgate their common-sense conservative message.

And when something like 2006 and 2008 happens, they blame the wrong people - like blaming Palin for McCain's ineptitude.

How crass!

I would never make a joke like that about Arlen Sphincter, even if he is a Democrat.

Just precious Arlen...just

Just precious Arlen...just precious.

Arlen better be sure to

Arlen better be sure to "tip the waitresses" because with Pat Toomey challenging him next year, Specter can only realistically hope to "be here all week".

Hmm

That man is in direct competition with Ambien.

On the bright side, we've found an alternative to water boarding.

ha ha. funny gag.

Thanks Barack! You've done more to promote conservatism than any president since Ronald Reagan (PBUH).

And he didn't have to go to

And he didn't have to go to the FDA for approval.  It all makes sense now.

Specter poked fun

I assume Specter was being broadcast direct from 1989 via the TIME TUNNEL.

Man, talk about old. This material sound like it was dug up from a neolithic pit buried with the bones of some native Americans.

Any gags about President Garfield, whom Specter served under as Secretary for the Indian Wars?

Thanks Barack! You've done more to promote conservatism than any president since Ronald Reagan (PBUH).

JB - Good One!

"Any gags about President Garfield, whom Specter served under as Secretary for the Indian Wars?"

Good one, JB.  LOL!

Makes sense

Specter would turn to Comedy Clubs.  He was bombing at town hall meetings.

Arlen Spector: Ass clown.

Really on top of things...

It is sooooo good to see the senator is right on top of things and spends his free time mocking those that are retired and no longer involved in national politics.  In his sharp as a brick political way he must have forgotten what a nasty mistress Karma can be.

Specter's practising for life after politics

Hannibal Specter is going down in 2010.  He has nowhere left to turn except maybe the pitiful Green party.  Maybe he's getting his comedy act geared up to have something to do after he's retired!  He has lots of material....his public career!

Maybe Specter and Blago

Maybe Specter and Blago could hit the road together. Beavis and Butthead.

Specter went from Republican joke to Democratic joke

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for a guy who's starting on the comedy club circuit after many years of keeping them rolling on the Senate floor, crying out for Maalox . . . He's the Boss of Party Cross -- Mister Single Bullsh** Theory himself . . . Let's have a warm welcome for Arlen Specter!"

And as a Pennsylvanian I'm

And as a Pennsylvanian I'm hoping to have a cold goodbye for Arlen come 2010.  Go Pat Toomey!!

Very appropriate, bigtimer

I was thinking something more along the lines of "Pop! Goes the Weasel."

Isn't this the moron that

Isn't this the moron that gave us the "magic bullet" theory.

I was very aggravated  the my Senator, John Cornyn was going to back this idot before he changed sides. That's the Republican's biggest flaw. They would rather keep a loser like Specter, who votes with the enemy more often than not, than to help out a real conservative, who would always do what is right!

Gary P... Yep the same

Gary P...

Yep the same guy indeed.

...and that wonderful Cornyn and crew have also backed Crist instead of Rubio too...plus I'm not even going to get into how despicable they treated Bunning in my opinion.

They never learn.

Democrats do the same thing, Gary

For years, the Democrats suffered the presence of Zell Miller, a conservative Democratic Congressman from Georgia who regularly voted with Republicans, publicly criticized Democrats, and even started a "Georgia Democrats for Bush" organization for the 2004 elections.  But no matter what he said or did, the Dems would not kick him out of the party for fear that he'd run as a Republican and still win.  He had a secure seat in a conservative district, but it rang up "D".

The reason why guys like Specter and Miller are tolerated is because as long as they keep that R or D after their name, they score for that party in the head count to determine a majority.

To be fair

There WAS one Democrat joke.

Rodney Specterfield: "I don't get no respect, I tell ya..."

"I don't get no respect, I tell ya... I bought a new stick of deodorant, opened it up, and it had a hair on it."

He is fantastic, though - I can think of at least five nursing homes in my immediate area that would love to have this old pecker as a resident to liven up the Friday night talent shows.

SoL... I'm going to have

SoL...

I'm going to have to learn that half of the time your posts should automatically have a Spew Alert Warning in my mind ahead of time....

That was priceless, still laughing and having a hard time posting this to completion.

Spector

This guy could make Benedict Arnold look loyal to his friends. If he didn't have a history of being a scumbag, I might believe his brain cancer has overwhelmed his moral seat. But he has always been a scumbag expecting the Republican Party to kiss his butt. They have and he is.

The Obvious

What, no single-bullet theory jokes? I thought those would be the obvious way to go.

Correction...

It's "Senator" Anal Sphincter (D-PA).

He worked so hard to get that title...

Does this qualify as a town

Does this qualify as a town hall meeting?
