Has CNN banned talk radio show hosts from its on air programming?

Such was reported by TVNewser a few hours ago (h/t Steve Malzberg):

Exclusive: TVNewser has learned, and a CNN spokesperson confirms, that in his morning editorial meeting today, CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein asked his show producers to avoid booking talk radio hosts. "Complex issues require world class reporting," Klein is quoted as saying, adding that talk radio hosts too often add to the noise, and that what they say is "all too predictable."

According to Newser, folks like Lou Dobbs, Bill Bennett, and Roland Martin are exempt.

What's responsible for this decision?

Stay tuned.

Communist News Network.

What a shock! CNN wants ever fewer people to watch their awful programming.  Most of the hot air on that channel comes from the likes of their anchors!

Complex issues require world class reporting

... so we certainly cannot turn to CNN. Wolf Blitzer is almost on a loop in his loopy "Situation Room". Constantly repeating the latest talking point with "At this hour ...."

Blitzer is unwatchable

Try to flip past CNN and not see ...BREAKING NEWS...on the chyron.

Ban Radio Hosts -- But Keep Taling About Limbaugh

I take it CNN intends to keep on attacking Rush Limbaugh while formally banning him from responding.  Just this morning, hostess Robin Meade accused him of ginning up Nazi references without explaining the role of Speaker Pelosi.

allanf... I heard that as

allanf...

I heard that as well this morning.

CNN has a need to remain in last place regarding the ratings, now that is really bad when the likes of msnbc beats them.

Obama's a Community Agitator, a walking, talking destroyer. ~ Rush Limbaugh

Too late

The last two people in CNN's audience already know the truth.

I just turned in Obama to the snitch website, said he was telling fibs at hos town-hall this afternoon.

Did anyone else think Obama wasn't on his A-Game?  Sounded a lot like gibberish.

In Obama's defense, it's

In Obama's defense, it's difficult to explain gibberish coherently.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Free speech

CNN has every right to put on whoever they want, for whatever reason they want.

But if they want us to take them seriously, they have to take us seriously. Don't hand us silly explanations. Don't pretend that talk show hosts ruin conversation, and then book political spinners like Begala and Carville. When you give broadcast time to openly partisan political strategists for one party, but exclude other points of view, you can't possibly expect anyone to believe you.

Begala and Carville were shouting a long time before Hannity.

Couldn't have said it

Couldn't have said it better....bravo!!

Don't forget the screamer

Don't forget the screamer Chrissy "tingle up my leg" Matthews and the way he talks to any conservative or opponent to the bill on softball.  Talk hosts are disruptive?

CNN

"Adding to the noise....."

This from a news organization that gives airtime to Jack Cafferty.

Listening to Jack now.

Listening to Jack now.  What an idiot.  He wants another Czar, a healthcare czar.  How does this tool keep his job.

Marginalizing themselves...

Painting themselves in a corner...so funny...

2010: A GOP Hill

World class reporting?

World class reporting?  That's a pretty low standard.

I would think they'd want to improve their journalistic integrity, not lower it even more.

GUESS WE CAN SAY BYE-BYE TO 90% OFF CNN STAFF

If complexity and intellectual acutity is the standard, 90% of theiur staff should be getting their resumes in order.

Talk Radio Adds To The Noise

If Jon Klein is so concerned about cutting back on the noise, why doesn't he start w/the likes of Jack Cafferty - talk about on-air pollution.

My boy Larry

As long as they keep Larry King on at night to get the remaining 6 viewers to sleep.

          But

But since no one watches CNN, nobody noticed................                                                             Congress hasn't earned any respect.

  Given that I haven't

Given that I haven't watched CNN in years, my initial response was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .

CNN - making decisions every day to reduce their audience.  Good one, CNN!

How about Larry King?

Larry King started off as a radio talk show host, and I think he still does that.  How about banning him - see how he takes to it?

Doesn't matter anyway I guess.  The american people, slowly but surely, are 'banning' CNN simply by refusing to watch this failing network.

What a coincidence

It has been confirmed by yours truely that CNN, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and ABC have been been banned from my television. And Couric, Lauer, Matthews, Olberman, Gibson, Williams, Matthews, Sawyer, Sanchez, Maddow, Schultz, and a host of other Obama butt-lickers have been declared 'persona non gratis'.

"What a revoltin' development this is!"

Chester Riley

Is this an April Fools joke

Is this an April Fools joke sprung early, or late? Surely they can't be serious. Hey, if they want to ban opposing views, more power to them. But don't lie about it, and pretend it's something it isn't, lol.

Bans

Will CNN ban talking about talk show hotsts?  As many bad things as they have said about Rush, they should not talk about talk show hosts.

CNN????
