After all the years of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) and RINOs (Republicans in name only), the majority of the country was looking for change. People latched onto Obama because Obama usually stuck to the message ad-man Axelrod crafted for him.

What Axelrod did was have Obama portray himself as beyond partisanship, beyond racism, and as a Washington outsider. As a clean, articulate African-American Obama was also able to appeal to the guilt many on the left feel about the country's days of slavery followed by racial oppression. These white guilt suffers now had a candidate who could help them "get over" their guilty feelings.

The sycophants in the former drive-by media also latched on to the clean, articulate, young, hip, candidate of color who portrayed himself in this fashion that for various reasons, they chose not to look behind the curtain.

Only a precious few journalists did the proper due diligence that all honest, ethical journalists are supposed to do. Only we who frequent sites like Newsbusters and National Review Online or listen to Rush or Hannity learned about the "real" Obama before the election. Only we knew this was what was to come.

Now, slowly, the rest of the country is beginning to wake up to the reality of a President and a Congress who do not value the individual's rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. They are waking up to the reality that this President is NOT beyond racism, that he did spend 20 years listening to his preacher. They are waking up to the reality that he did spend his time listening to those like Bill Ayers who despise the American way of life as envisioned by our forefathers and embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. They are waking up to the reality that the President of the United States of America is an angry black man who wants to tear down this great country and turn it into a third-world country like so many of them in Africa.

So who was that guy I saw speaking into the mic advising everyone to get in the faces of the people who caused the trouble, that they shouldn't be allowed to speak...just shut up and let him fix things? Hmmmm For some reason, I really believed it was the president of the United States of America...you know, the fellow who is supposed to be the president of EVERY CITIZEN OF AMERICA!!!!

Obama's minions send out instructions to people to go to town hall meetings  and "to directly engage with boisterous conservative protesters at Democratic town halls during the August recess."

I thought they decried the "staged, organized  participation."

The purpose of these Town Hall meetings is to allow people to ask questions and learn about the content of the proposed health care reform bills. That's why they're called Town Hall meetings instead of press conferences.

The people who are shouting down the speakers and other citizens at these gatherings do not want any information provided at all. Their overt intent is to disrupt the meetings and prevent any civil exchange. One has to wonder how much it would hurt these morons to at least ask some questions and hear some responses from their elected representatives. They go into these meetings with their heads filled with all sorts of disinformation and no basic understanding of the issues at all, and their objective is prevent anybody else from asking any questions and getting any answers. If you ever studied civics in high school, this is NOT part of the democratic process. You do NOT conduct a bellicose protest in order to stop other citizens from asking their questions.

The protesters at these meetings are the tools of the insurance industry, political extremists, and the status quo. And the people here who are attacking anybody who criticizes these idiots are being driven by blind ideology instead of constructive pragmatism. You are no better than Sarah Palin, who has spoken out against health care reforms without knowing anything that is being proposed. "Government take over of health" = lie. "Death Panels" = lie. "Government subsidized abortions" = lie. The list goes on, but you don't want to hear it because it conflicts with your pig-headed opposition to anything that the current administration thinks is important.

 If this country doesn't get meaningful health care reform this time around, it may never happen, and our standing in the world in this area will continue its slide into Third World status. We're already 37th and falling. Wanna go for 50th? Do you want another one million American citizens to go bankrupt every year because of exploding health care costs? Who do you think is going to pay that? Take off your elephant buttons for once and put on your thinking caps.
