As conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is currently on a golf vacation, his fans are going to have to wait to hear his extended analysis concerning Sarah Palin's decision to step down as Alaska's governor.
Fortunately, our good friend Brian Maloney was able to reach Rush, and has provided a brief audio link that is going to have to suffice until Limbaugh returns from the links.
Thanks, Brian.

Well yeah....speculation
July 5, 2009 - 19:26 ET by bigtimerWell yeah....speculation indeed.
Time will tell...be nice when she let's us know too.
Glad to hear from him since he is gone all this coming week...before the msm puts words in his mouth first.
Doubling down on stupid is not a particularly good idea. ~Andrew Breitbart
I feel a special "Rush"
July 5, 2009 - 19:59 ET by DoktorFrankenThat's exactly what I said. We'll know when she tells us.
I can wait.
Agreed
July 5, 2009 - 20:27 ET by KC MulvilleI don't know what this is all about. The same people who were telling us about how she was pursuing the presidency are now telling us how she's not. I don't think they know either way, and since I have no personal relationship with her, I can't say either.
By the way, one note. Watch to see all the pundits offer explanations, when they don't know anything at all. It'll reveal how shallow they are about other issues they know nothing about (like the economy, war, global warming, Iraq, etc.).

July 5, 2009 - 20:38 ET by DoktorFrankenYup. No one, it seems, knows how to say the words, ''I Don't Know''. That's why I stopped watching the news networks - hours and hours of speculation and downright lies. What's the point?
The luxury of time
July 5, 2009 - 20:55 ET by KC MulvilleThey've never been able to admit they don't know. And like the military adage that first reports are always wrong ... by now, you'd think the media would accept reality and admit the limits of simple humanity.
The good thing here is that we're in no hurry. It's the beginning of summer, we've got other things to worry about right now ... Obama caving to the Russians, the Afghan surge, healthcare ... we don't need her right now in Alaska, frankly. In the back of my head, I'm thinking, so what?
I don't need to hear some media airhead opine about Sarah's Story. I'm with you -- who cares what they think?
Huff Puff is running many stories on this.
July 5, 2009 - 21:35 ET by sevenPeople that bought windows in 2002 at wasilla are involved with spenard Lumber they say.
One sign that these are lies is the use of one word Embexxlement. It is an example of rush waiting to learn the MSM enthusiastic in making up charges and motifavtions.
Soo how many folk think, Rush should run fore (4) Public Office?
July 5, 2009 - 22:03 ET by upcountrywaterAs far I know Rush never won anything, No bicycle race, No 220 yd. high hurdles No golf events(?)....
Well He's #1 in radio...And a first place is better than a Trillion second places.
Heck Obama has more Government experience than Rush.
Still folk think Rush would be great in that role.(way below his paygrade)
Sarah Palin is, forging a great, new direction.

Ignoring the obvious posts
July 6, 2009 - 02:41 ET by marvlIgnoring the obvious posts from people who managed to smuggle a computer into their mental ward, it should be obvious to everyone that speculation is a useless persuit, especially in relation to this topic. I am inclined to apply Occam's razor and take the lady at her word. I also feel that at the core of her decision was a desire to protect her family from the barrage of insane, viscous, and unwarranted bullshit that has been aimed at her and her family by the media and bloggers.
Whatever she does, I admire and respect Sarah very much. She deserves our support, not a bunch of stupid and suspicous speculation.
If one would go back and
July 6, 2009 - 03:54 ET by Gary P JacksonIf one would go back and listen to Sarah's Friday speech again, and then read what she put on her website Saturday, it's all spelled out.
Sarah is one of those people that actually says what she means, and means what she says. Rare as hen's teeth in politics.
Part of what is bothering her of course is the millions the loons are costing the state of Alaska. But the other part is the burning urgency she feels. She simply can't sit around while Obama destroys America. She wants in the game now, and that ain't gonna happen from Alaska. Logistically alone, it's impossible.
Sarah has answered the call, plain and simple, and she has asked America to answer it with her.
I imagine when the numbers are released at the end of the month for SarahPAC, everyone is going to be blown away. And that probably had a little bit to do with her decision to go for it.
But Lt General Craig Campbell, who went with her to Kosovo and Germany, and will be the new Lt Governor of Alaska, said the troops really took her aside and made some strong comments.
Sarah is the Commander-In-Chief of the Alaska National Guard. And yeah, I know, every Governor "commands" their Guard. The Alaska Governor is a lot more involved. And Campbell said back in a 2008 interview with Greta that Sarah was the best C-I-C he had served under. Real hands on. She gets national security.
Evidently talking with her troops really made her mind up.
What we gotta figure out is are we gonna step up and get involved ourselves. She's put her entire career on the line for America.
What are we gonna do?

Gary,
July 6, 2009 - 08:01 ET by Free StinkerGary,
interesting blog you have there. Some amazing information too. Good work!

Seeing how speculating is
July 6, 2009 - 12:52 ET by texanbychoiceSeeing how speculating is free, let me go all in. I think Sarah is seperating herself from the republican party so she can pick up the baton from Glen Beck and run with the 9-12 agenda. Run Sarah Run
I think you may be
July 6, 2009 - 23:31 ET by Free StinkerI think you may be right.
All except the part about Glen Beck.

Really interesting- I agree with Rush
July 6, 2009 - 21:07 ET by nwahsRush notes its all speculation, because no one knows what this is about. He says she hasn't said and her camp hasn't said. So we're all just speculating as to what it is about.
Well that begs the question - what the hell was that speech for if so many people are wondering, including Rush? Listening to Rush's sound byte, the speech gave no clue as to why she is resigning.
Why give a speech to say why you are resigning, and no one, including Rush, thinks you've stated why you are resigning?
Don't call me a name. Answer my question. If she is being so honest with people, why is everyone clueless (Rush, Karl Rove, Kristol etc.) as to what the hell is going on? I guess the speech on Friday fell a little short?
This is one of the times I agree with Rush. We're all speculating, because no one, including her press secretary, seem to know where she is or what the heck is going on. The problem is she gave a 20 minute speech and still no one knows.
Rush didn't reiterate the epidemic problem of governors milking lame duckism. He said we don't know the reason. After a 20 minute speech stating the reason, we don't know the reason.
