Boehner's Amazing Speech on the House Floor Friday

Photo of Noel Sheppard.

Just before the House passed what could end up being the largest tax increase in U.S. history, Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Oh.) took to the floor and dissected the disgusting "American Clean Energy and Security Act" while accusing Democrats of shamefully adding 300 pages to the bill at 3 AM Friday morning.

In what some referred to as a filibuster, Boehner took more than sixty minutes methodically analyzing sections of the midnight hour additions as members of his Party and folks in the gallery cheered him on.

Every American owes it to him or herself to watch this entire marvelous speech and better understand how this bill if passed by the Senate will dramatically increase energy costs while sending what's left of our nation's manufacturing jobs to other countries (part one embedded right, five more parts embedded below the fold, Boehner's fabulous exchange with Rep. Waxman occurs at 6:40 of part two):

Bravo, Congressman! Bravo!

We watched the House

We watched the House yesterday, along with both votes and Boehner's filibuster....people should listen, most people don't in this country though....that's whats really sad....as they blindly go to the polls and vote these same congress-critters in.

Nobody pays the least bit of attention until it hits them at home, right in their pocket-books.

The Gang of Eight on the repub side of the aisle that voted with the dems I hope are done though...this would have never passed if not for them.

I was disgusted, to put it mildly.

BT Thanks for pointing out

BT Thanks for pointing out it was on CSPAN. I didn't see it all. But it was very educational. Time to throw some people out of office. (We'll all need to deal with the federal governement to sell our houses.)

I'm also as angry with the media as I am with these jerks in congress. They've completely ignored it. And I think it was partially on purpose. Hopeing this insanity would be over before people realized they were being abused.

I used to watch the House and Senate a heck of a lot to see what they are doing to us daily, but I can't take it as much lately...when the important bills are going to be passed, I try to always stay tuned.

This would be the first

This would be the first time I've actually watched house proceedings with any interest. (I've been there a time or two for school and scouting)  While I do believe it is ridiculous that Boehner took that long, what is even more shocking is that he took that much time basically just reading short exerpts from a last minute extension to the bill.  He pulled it apart and exposed how ridiculous the whole thing was.  He showed misappropriated money, excessive taxing, unrelated regulations, private sector killing measures, and a useless bureaucratic flood.

Waxman made me laugh.  He seemed rather uncomfortable that some of the details of the scheme were revealed.

To put Boehner's speech in perspective, watch Pelosi's response.

How the hell did she come out and claim that the bill was about jobs?  It was SUPPOSED to be an energy bill and more honestly is described as a tax bill.  I swear, there is a complete disconnect with reality and logical thought progression.  On a side, vain note...whatever procedures and products Pelosi is using to tighten the skin on the top of her face needs to be extended to the lower half.  The contrast is distracting and slightly disturbing.

I just watched Pelosi's

I just watched Pelosi's crap.  I'm with you.  The bill is about global warming and she shouts that it's about jobs.   You know what I think?   I think it's about whatever they want it to be about.   She could have stood up and said it's about the rights of gays to marry.  Logic doesn't matter anymore.  In the last several years and especially with this current bunch in power, including Obama, I've never in my life see so much talking in a completely different direction than the actions.   A big example is the Obama claiming we're spending too much, we can't sustain it...........while he spends to much that's unsustainable.  Another is titling dumping of the secret union ballot as "Employee Free Choice Act" when it's the exact opposite, as "free choice" is what employees currently have.  It's pure madness and people are ok with it.  America is in trouble, and I don't mean economically, I mean as a nation.  Common sense is gone.  Logic is unknown.  And people will drink the Barack, Nancy, and Harry Jones Koolaid and not know one thing about what they're actually drinking.

Pretty good speech.

He made a terrific distinction of the good things in the bill and the horrible things.

We do want clean air, we do want to find another new source of energy.

We don't want these batshit crazy taxes on everything. Let's punish you for having nice things.

Re clean air

We all want clean air, but Cap and Trade has nothing to do with 'clean air', as we all know. The outrage that allowed much of this to happen was allowing the liberals to designate CO2 as a pollutant. Scientifically it's nonsense, and it also conveniently muddies up the language which the fascist/socialists love to do. Destroy the ability of the citizens to communicate, and fascism wins.

I have written Congress

I have written Congress about this shameful assault on the American people. There is no excuse.

I noticed that the Congress web site changes the Subject you select. Even the web site our politicians have is corrupt. Sigh.

D

Write Congress and say vote NO on cap and trade!

Keep the ILLEGALS out, join NumbersUSA to send free faxes to your reps.

Just a couple of comments.

First and foremost, it looks like the Republicans finally have a leader in the House.  I doubt a Dennis Hastert could have done this. Secondly, I hope the gang of 8 is ready to defend their vote because this global warming deal is going south, for the Democrats, rapidly, which is why I believe they were rushing this through.  I read somewhere that Australia has already repealed their cap and trade.  Once the American press starts reporting in this (God only knows when) and people are up on what a farce it is, the Dems (plus the gang of 8) will have some 'splainin' to do.

Our version of repubs in oz

Our version of repubs in oz defered the bill until august, and then they think they can vote it totally out. Asshole labour (dems) Rudd PM are waiting to see what the yanks are going to do, shit as if they can't bloody well think for themselves, and do whats right for their own country. The bill if passed in oz will be the end of that joint, it is so exspensive  now I don't know how they are going eat, let alone put gas in the car, have a beer, smoking is just about out of the question at over 10 bucks for 20 smokes. So it is the waiting game and hopefully they chuck the bill in the bin in August

10 bucks for 20

10 bucks for 20 smokes.

Crap, thats expensive.

yep and about 35 bucks a

yep and about 35 bucks a slab, which is 24 beers, thats domestic, hi end domestic is 50 bucks, and don't even think about buying corona or hieny, and don't even think about rum, all the fun stuff is to exspensive, they think the higher the price, you will become smoke free and sober, but everyone makes their own beer and booze and buys tobacco from someone other than the gov, thats what happens when you tax people to death, the gov looses money cause the smart folks outsource them, hell they even make their own diesel out of cooking oil,

Sounding more and more like a MAD MAX movie.

Now if the folk can turn sand filled tanker trucks' cargo into gasoline well then, energy crisis solved.

Friends I know pay almost 60 bucks a cartion for smokes here (Hawaii)

Reagan VS Liberalism

Thats funny, I never thought

Thats funny, I never thought of it like that, but mad max maybe a \glimpse into the future, Oz sounds a bit third world, some parts of it are, meaning generators and water tanks, dirt roads, but when the power goes out they don't even notice, LOL kinda like living on a land boat,                                                                         PS, thats an obamma tax on smokes, sheeeesh, the only satisfaction I get out of that is my Lib  cigar smoking friends are getting what they voted for,

Yea and the future is comming at you at 671 million MPH

Maybe buy into this business

Unlike other solid-to-liquid-fuel processes such as
cornstarch into ethanol, this one will accept almost any carbon-based
feedstock. If a 175-pound man fell into one end, he would come out the
other end as 38 pounds of oil, 7 pounds of gas, and 7 pounds of minerals,
as well as 123 pounds of sterilized water. While no one plans to put
people into a thermal depolymerization machine, an intimate human creation
could become a prime feedstock. "There is no reason why we can't turn
sewage, including human excrement, into a glorious oil," says
engineer Terry Adams, a project consultant. So the city of Philadelphia is
in discussion with Changing World Technologies to begin doing exactly
that.

And how far away is soylant green/ mad max?

Running the math... more energy input... than one would get out of it.

So what ....One of them inconvenient facts,

This fact is lost/not used/ flushed by the bureaucracy ..

Bureaucract, That's a religious order!!...
An official who is rigidly devoted to the details of administrative procedure.

Just like all them other gov programs, sucking the energy/wealth/coin out us.

Ain't the age of OIL great! Enjoy it while it lasts...

Reagan VS Liberalism

I doubt the average government-schooled idiot American...

...even knows what C-SPAN actually is, and probably couldn't find it on their TVs if their blissfully ignorant lives depended on it.

Hell, that was probably the first channel the American Idol-watching, People Magazine readers deprogrammed when they first got their cable hooked up.

While the congress critters in the House were voting yesterday to rid us of what little is left of our freedoms and liberties, not to mention our free market economy, most of the dumbMass sheeple were glued to their TVs, watching non-stop coverage of a pedophile who died of a drug overdose.

RIP, America.

sheeple...

I like it

As impressive as it was to

As impressive as it was to watch Boehner in all of these clips, the most telling and damning thing I saw was Waxman's initial response to the mini-fillibuster afterwards. He stood up and asked in a pouty tone how much time Boehner had used, when he was only orginally alloted 2 minutes. THAT was his concern...how much time had been used! NOT whether Boehner was correct or incorrect, but only to know if he had been rude and used more time than he should have. Waxman and all other leading instigators of this bill need to be rounded up and shipped off to socialist countries where the results of this type of bizarre nanny-statism has already begun devastating their economies.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR 2010/12!!!

Pewah... I would like to

Pewah...

I would like to say I couldn't believe the whining from Nostrilitus right after Boehner was through....unfortunately, the leftists live by it.

Was glad to see what the parliamentarian had to say to Tausher (sp) that was quick and to the point.

My words to him are stick it where the sun doesn't shine...along with the eight RINOs who voted for this....damn them all.

"Nostrilitus"....lol....nice.

Yeah, she may have just been sticking to parlimentary procedure, but I was still surprised when she shut Nostrilitus down with her frank response.

Lol Pewah... I got that

Lol Pewah...

I got that term from Rush...

I've always just called him Pig-Face in the past....heard Rush use it the other day again, (had forgot about his term for him) and applied it here....so fitting isn't it?

God love ya John Boehner, you are a hero but we needed more like you, at least 8 more by my count.

It is what it is.......... a blatant, arrogant power grab playing on the total gullibility of the American people. The liberals are going to change the weather and save us from something that doesn't exsist at the expense of everything that was America. Soon we will have Obamacare and then ACORN sliming the 2010 census, the transformation will begin in earnest.

I have given up hope, my country has been lost without the enemy even firing a shot.

Change we can believe in.....and sooner than anyone dared to have predicted.

Bravo, Congressman ! Bravo ! my Behind

If Boehner and his fellow Repubs had been watching the ship of state these
last several years instead of their tan, their hair and their golf game he
wouldn't be in a position where a filibuster was even needed.

After the deplorable behavior of these professional politicians I can hardly
commend them for anything noble

What can we do to ensure...

that Henry Waxman and those like him are driven from office as quickly as possible?  People in his district need to wake up and destroy this evil Fascist!

Question is..

Exactly why can't everyone who voted for this so called bill be either impeached or charged with something like treason? They are being paid to look out for the "peoples" interest not obama's. If none of them read and understood everything in the bill then they did not perform the job they are paid to do.

Or am I missing something here?

Hi Db...

You're not missing anything....unfortunately though we have no choice but to remove them in '10.

What I always worry about is some people forget all of this and the congress-critters that should be ousted when the time comes...including the behind the scenes big-wigs in the Repub party.

They depend on this.

God awful bill

I have known this bill is one of the worst ever but the more you know it becomes incredible. I just heard a Dem congressman tout one of its provisions that will slap tariffs on imports from countries that do not reciprocate in the madness. It looks as though that will include the entire trading world. The man believes it is good that we Americans pay more for our imported goods (most consumer goods) if, say, China doesn't commit suicide with us! China accepts the latest scientific consensus (playing by the rule that each camp is its own "consensus") and we Americans pay more! Oh Yeah,Good thing! Boehner's speech exposed many idiocies that Waxman wanted to be buried.

I find it hard to believe so many people could vote for such a bad bill. The billions to be made had to be involved. The supporters must also believe the folks will not hear the truth from MSM, that the bill is so complicated even those who read it will not understand its import (if it is ever printed), or these Congressmen just don't give a damn and if they are voted out they will join in the money bin when it goes into effect.

China nor India are not

China nor India are not going to go for this replica...

Please remember this is also something for the leftists to take to Copenhagen soon even if fails in the Senate...basically the Kyoto Treaty BS still going on here....and there.

Translation of Waxman's

Translation of Waxman's interrupting.......

"Madame Speaker, he's revealing way too much and I never planned for any of this to be read by anyone.  We simply want to pass it and begin bending the American people over as soon as possible.  He's destroying my plans, pwease oh pwease Madame Speaker, I am a god here, pwease make him stop!!"

MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THIS

MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THIS BILL!!   This bill also acheives something for the human-causes global warming crowd.  If this bill gets thru the Senate and is signed into law, then as time goes on what you will hear, if you mention that the earth is actually cooling, is that it's because of this new law.  The global warming crowd will have successfully ended ANY debate on any cooling, and will feel comfortable using this law as the REASON for the cooling, instead of trying to argue against the cooling.

Yes

I must admit I had not given a thought to that angle. Of course they will do exactly that, laughing and strolling to the bank.

Oops, I made the bill sound

Oops, I made the bill sound a lot smaller than it is by calling it "law" (singular) if it passes.  It's an Act, underwhich UMPTEEN thousand laws will go into effect.

Law or Laws.........its a crock of CRAP and another notch in the bedpost of the quest for European Socialism.  Utterly amazing!

Bravo to Boehner! We need

Bravo to Boehner!

We need to ensure the 8 who caved in get voted out. If this happens to pass in the Senate life as we know it here in America is OVER!

And the worst part about this nonsense is this bill will be nothing compared to the Health care bill that is coming. These congressmen care not one whit for the future of this country, it is painfully obvious that this bill is chock full of "get mine while I can" mentality and the future be damned.

Boener - wonderful!

Boener - wonderful!

Well I just finished

Well I just finished watching the final segment, with Waxman asking how much time Boehner took.   What a F-R-E-A-K-I-N IDIOT and pure wimply liberal whiner.

waxman

looks like fat pig-rat that stepped into the body of a man.

Boehner does it yet again.  If only there were more like him.

Below find the eight RHINOs that voted for this abortion of a bill - crap and tax aka tax the crap out of the American people:

Bono Mack
Castle
Kirk
Lance
LoBiondo
McHugh
Reichert
Smith (NJ)

If the above people represent you, give them hell for their vote.  If they don't, but you have some time, drop them a note and tell them how disappointed you are with them that they made this socialist crap potentially possible.

Congratulations to all of you that sent letters and/or e-mail and/or called your representatives.  It would not have been as close as it was without your help.

Now, we must stick together and get our senators to realize the errors of their ways if they vote for this crap.

Congressman Boehner, we salute your leadership in the House.  Keep up the great work!  As an aside, Boehner has a mere BA from Xavier University.  I guess they dodn't teach teleprompter at Xavier . . .

Boehner was fantastic.

I watched the entire debate.  I stayed at work till 7:00 pm on a Friday night so that I didn't miss out on anything.  I left once I saw that the amendment would be out-voted by the liberal scummers.  Boehner's words and actions were truly inspirational.  I could not believe that 8 ryno's had voted for this atrocity called an energy bill.

BTW- I heard Larry Kudlow's program on WABC 770 here in NYC and he blasted the rep from the horse country in NJ, Lance.  He blasted the group of 8 reps.

Here's the list of people that need to be out of jobs come the next elections.

Bono Mack
Castle
Kirk
Lance
Reichert
LoBiondo
McHugh
Smith(NJ)

Kudlow was especially disappointed in Smith, who he called a strong pro life, pro business Rep.  He shamed Lance, several callers really called him out too.

The bill itself is an obamanation.   Boehner even found within those 300+ pages that one co. was being singled out to run a certain part of the business.  How can that happen?  Imagine if the republicans had done such a thing.  The media made an issue about Haliburton taking on the job of reconstruction in Iraq. But, to put it in perspective, Haliburton was one of a short list of 2 or 3 companies in the entire world that could handle such an assignment.  Yet Haliburton was never put into some bogus bill in order to get themselves a hand me down by the obummer administration.  There are serious problems in the bill and we are all affected.  I am glad that Boehner addressed almost all of those things.  There are a lot of things running through my head about this bill and it's just killing me.  What do I hate the most...

The elderly people having to tap into their equity to bring their homes  up to code so that some liberal that was provided an entitlement could reap the benefits of getting a home they did not deserve...

The elderly person that could not tap into their equity because they were too busy paying for other people's entitlements, as proposed in this bill and in the health SCARE bill.  These people would be forced to die in their home.

The couple that worked hard, saved money, didn't have a huge family by choice and not by medical means, so that they could buy a home.  However, they couldn't sell the home unless they were willing to sell at a much lower price than they bought it and after spending money to bring it code.  By bringing it to code they had to spend thousands of dollars and allowing the gov't to intervene in their own homes.

What about the people who thought they would be smart enough to rent out a place and believe they could buy a home when the market changed, even though the market was over supplied for several years, with homes that were not wired to the new Obummer's new green plan.    Worse off these people continue renting and continue hoping they could get back in the home game, except they are now paying double the rent because the govt has imposed all these green initiatives on the landlord who then had to pass it down to the tenants.

What about the small business person that took their life's savings to open up a shop but has to lay off several people because they had get their business up to code.  And iff this wasn't the bad part then they had to part with any profit, as iff, he could have garnered any, and pay a national sales tax, and any other additional wonderful taxes that Obummer will impose. So this small business guy had to lay off those folks who then had to tap into the equity in the homes until they found a job, sold a house at a loss and or had to hunker down by moving with other family members.  By the way, that other family member had also been hit with some obstacle like getting their home up to code, job loss and over taxation.

There's more... the big business guy.  The big company... you name them... they won't exist in this new green peace.  Why... the realization of the new green enforcement made them shut down plants, warehouses and offices.  Hundreds and thousansds of jobs are loss by company (accounting to over trillions loss from our gdp in a few short decades and close to a million jobs lost per yr) and they've all landed in China or India.  Those two countries... they say thanks for the jobs.. here's more bad air coming your way.  By the way... the saving the earth thing.. is really going out of control but not because the USA has contributed to it.  No.. well maybe.  Heck... you know Obummer will still be lighting up his loosie that he won't have had to pay for from his pocket.  No... the chinese and India will be sending their contributions to the air with force from their new found labor.  And speaking of their labor... what do we get for all the green initiatives... yes... all we ever wanted... more cheap products.  We all needed that electric, biodiesel, green car for one they are producing.  Back to that big corporation that just turned little by the forced terminations... You ask who may they be... Here's a hint.... we already have a few of these already.  They were once called General Motors, Chrysler, Bank of American, Citibank, AIG... get the hint.... except these companies do not produce anything, anymore by that point.  GM and Chrysler are two companies that have more labor doing nothing for something because the union owns them, won't fire anyone in it and won't produce anything..  Instead the tax payer will still be subsidizing them.  Bank of America and Citibank.... the new green banks.  You heard Boehner naming the banks..they won't be making loans, they won't be providing services... no.. they will be employing gov't watch dogs to ensure that the loans that the customers are willing to sign over are complaint with the 12 layers of new beauracracies they are enforcing while raming down more costs to close.

Let's get to the winners ok.... there's a few folks.

Al Gore... sure as hell will be a billionaire by the time everything is done.  Don't forget he has a company that is called GIM that he co founded with a former Goldman Suks exec.  They are fine tuning their trading platform so that by the time this obamanation goes live they will have cornered the carbons emissions credit markets.  Sounds like something the Dukes from "Trading Places" would be proud off.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,257958,00.html

There are others that will also benefit... the entitlement receivers that have lived heavy on the hog... you know them as renters in sec 8, welfare, coupons, and free medical and education.  Remind you of someone... yeah our very own potus.  He is the poster child of entitlements.  I apologize to anyone iff I ran off too long.  I had to get this off my chest.  The senate has to better get their act together.   I have more but... have to get to bed.

And the jobs and

And the jobs and manufacturing that went to China and India..of course they will be hit with a higher import tariff because they are not green...what idiot thinks that is going to bring them into line? Do these people not understand the basic and unerring law that businesses do not pay taxes? Raise the tariff and guess who pays the higher cost? Of course to the Dems way of thinking...the higher the cost of goods the more sales tax they get off us.

Trade War Coming

If another country challenges those import tariffs, as they certainly will, that could lead to a real trade war with our major trading partners. The Bamster already carelessly damaged our trade relations with Canada and other countries over US-content rules in the porkulus package, so he doesn't seem to understand the value of free trade. In fact we have seen plenty of evidence that he doesn't understand economics at all.

This will likely end up in the World Court.

We need more Boehners in the

We need more Boehners in the GOP.  Its time to spit out the 8 republican RINOs and democrats that voted for this nonesense.

John Boehner for POTUS

Boehner is telling it like it is. It is the biggest pile of shiite ever laid upon the people.

And we're supposed to believe those treasonous liberals thugs in Congress.

Bravo to you Mr. Boehner!
