Our good friends at JibJab have created a new satirical animated short that is an absolute must-see.
To the tune "When Johnny Comes Marching Home," viewers are introduced to a new superhero.
Coming just as "darkness had descended all across the land...he's Barack Obama, he's come to save the day!" (video embedded below the fold h/t Hot Air):

JibJab
June 20, 2009 - 16:16 ET by MrShyFor some reason, I didn't laugh at this one -- or with this one. Dunno why... or maybe I do:
The past ones I've found hilarious. With those, maybe it was the music and/or that they spoofed on so many different topics of the time AND on many different politicians, and in that great rapid-fire, pack-it-all-in-3-minutes way.
This, on the other hand, is a different beast that just focuses on him, and in this JibJab style/format (for me at least) it sort of falls flat.

MrS... But didn't you
June 20, 2009 - 16:23 ET by bigtimerMrS...
But didn't you find this as a total put-down to Barrack, his policies and what he has and is doing to us in the future is he can?
I found that part serious...but still, at least while I smiled with all of this it took my pain away from what I see being crammed down our throats since he has taken office for at least a few minutes.

hey BT
June 20, 2009 - 16:44 ET by MrShyYes, certainly the content is funny, and it's great that they're poking fun at him. I was just surprised that I wasn't really laughing through the whole thing, which I've done to their previous offerings.
I feel they could have gone after him AND thrown in some goodies of people in his administration/cabinet... all the characters, like Emanual, Biden (of course), etc..

MrS... Really, I do
June 20, 2009 - 16:48 ET by bigtimerMrS...
Really, I do understand where you are coming from, and you may be right...but I am glad for once they didn't...
Everything is about HIM....and they expressed that...the Buck Stops Here type of thing....
Just how I see it.

BT
June 20, 2009 - 16:54 ET by MrShyGood point, that it IS all about him, so they're paroding that. But, for me, JibJab works when they're all over the map with tons of stuff and imagery... any other vehicle, sure, this single-theme/person works fine.
I'll watch it again anyway :)

Kool-aid test:
June 20, 2009 - 18:54 ET by needleThe thing is how sure can any of us be that that woman who thought that Obama was going to see to it that her mortgage was paid off and the she would never have to pay for gasoline etc. again has not bookmarked this and is presently memorizing it and fully believes it; and the same goes for all of her soul sisters and brothers.
Impunitas semper ad deteriora invitat.
Not funny, sick making
June 20, 2009 - 16:50 ET by DontFeedTheTrollsYeah, I didn't like it either, perhaps because Obama (and his millions of fawning supporters, one said to me before the election "He is going to make those oil companies give us $1 a gallon gas again.") is not funny to me, he is just plain scary. I really even have a hard time looking at his face.

I agree; I think it was
June 20, 2009 - 17:57 ET by motherbeltI agree; I think it was good satire, but I didn't find it ha-ha funny.

There was some suggestion on
June 20, 2009 - 16:12 ET by BKeyserThere was some suggestion on HotAir that maybe this video was made in support of The One. I don't see it that way, but it is posted on abcnews.com. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some sites duped into thinking it is supportive, then pull the link when they finally realize otherwise.
First class !!!
June 20, 2009 - 16:15 ET by PaarlFine satire !!!! The kind that pokes proper fun....unlike the degrading treatment that Bush et al got from all quarters for years....what did JIB JAB do in the Bush years???

Music video for Weird Al Yankovic, What We Call The News (which should really be frontpaged here), the Big Box Mart (Wal-Mart satire) and the Arnold 'campaign ad' that referenced most, if not all of his movies.

I love jibjab and this one
June 20, 2009 - 17:15 ET by gmaniac1I love jibjab and this one was not just funny, it was ironic. Obama is definitely no super hero. He may be the biggest coward of a president we've had since Carter, if not more so.
When the people fear the government it's called tyranny, when the government fears the people it's called liberty!

Have to disagree. Maybe
June 20, 2009 - 17:36 ET by nolotrippenHave to disagree.
Maybe it's because I saw The Dark Knight last night (which i liked; hated the first one, couldn't even finish it).
It think JJ nailed his ego and the fawing adoration in a pinko stew that will go down hard with the left.
It was OK. The bat signal
June 20, 2009 - 19:14 ET by balboaIt was OK. The bat signal with the ears was the funniest part, to me.
They should do one with the press fawning over him, to the tune of "He's So Fine" or something.
Yep; the ears...
June 20, 2009 - 19:42 ET by jdlybrandI thought it was funny that the super hero mask couldn't cover the flapping ears.

Funny, as I started to read
June 20, 2009 - 21:26 ET by Radical1979Funny, as I started to read this post they showed a quick segment of the video on the Philly CW news. They made it sound flattering and said it "poked a little fun at the President's inability to quit smoking".
So, two things, they totally didn't get that it was poking fun at a lot more than Obama's smoking. Also, the media sure doesn't show Obama smoking. You can bet if Bush lit up it would have been plastered everywhere.
The sad thing
June 21, 2009 - 00:37 ET by farstar99The sad thing is, this is how Democrats actually see it. Such children.
White pirates???
June 21, 2009 - 07:56 ET by political mavenNone of the pirates have been white. PC run amok.
I think they were supposed
June 21, 2009 - 11:03 ET by Lord ElicaniI think they were supposed to be stereotypical old time pirates, judging also by the old time pirate ship they were one.

Well, its a start, I guess
June 21, 2009 - 09:27 ET by SnappyWell, its a start, I guess once your poll numbers start to drop a little, a small amount of humour can start to come out. Its still unbeleivable though, that the media is still laughing after 20 years over a misspelled word from Quayle but finds nothing funny about the wealth of statements from Biden.
Think again
