Jon Stewart: Brian Williams 'Clearly Has the Hots' for Obama

NBC's Brian Williams "clearly has the hots" for President Barack Obama.

So said Comedy Central's Jon Stewart Thursday in a total skewering of NBC's "Inside the Obama White House" special report.

Not only did "The Daily Show" host totally lambaste Williams for using "this kind of unprecedented access" to the president to "cross-promote" other NBC programs, but also marvelously depicted the entire presentation as being like MTV's reality show "Real World."

Most deliciously, "the show's host clearly has the hots for the breakout star."

  • JON STEWART, HOST: This is a huge coup for NBC. When you get this kind of unprecedented access, you can cross-promote.
  • BRIAN WILLIAMS: The TV version of the "West Wing" on NBC has only been off the air for three years.
  • WILLIAMS TO OBAMA: Have you seen the depictions of you, Fred Armisen, "Saturday Night Live," what do you think?
  • STEWART: And speaking of Chuck, look who's just stopped by, Zachary Levi star of "Chuck" returning this fall. Mr. President, do you find "NCIS" has become formulaic? One final question: Today, must-see TV is just a suggestion. You have the power to make it Law...and Order.
  • STEWART: By the way, the show's host clearly has the hots for the breakout star.

I guess it's time for NBC and others in the media to understand that when your gushing and fawning for Obama is fodder for comedians, you should consider becoming journalists again rather than the disgraceful sycophants you've been since an unqualified junior senator from Illinois first announced his candidacy for president in 2007.

Obama

Stewart is still a weasel but this is a very small sign of things to come with "The One". (I saw a bumper sticker the other day "Don't blame me, I voted for McCain".-- the first one I have seen). Eventually, when the economy fails to recover; when all of the problems of the world don't simply dissappear as a result of Obama's 'greatness'; when an as yet unforeseen international disaster takes place, and on and on, as always happens in this world; the fawning press will start to realize that the ship is taking on a little water and the rats will start to evacuate the good ship Obama, slowly at first, until Gladwell's "Tipping Point" is reached. It will be very interesting to see how cool and calm BHO is when this happens. I think it will get ugly.

"I think you'd better call John, 'cause it don't look they're here to deliver...the mail". -NY

Devout Muslim

I guess even Stewart couldn't let the endless possibilities for humor lie dormant for much longer.

Stewart only makes fun of

Stewart only makes fun of the media when it comes to joking about Obama.  He won't make fun of Obama outright.

True, but that is the first

True, but that is the first crack in the wall around Obama.

Once the comedians (quite rightly) begin mocking the MSM for the constant bootlicking coverage of Obama then that negates the effect of Obama having his own progaganda network (NBC).

It's not much-but it's a start.

well

Steward might not openly bow to Obama, but he's just as much in love with him as anyone else. I suspect this is network rivalry more than an honest complaint about media bias.

let's see if daily show will do this more often

it will be interesting to see if jon and his staff will start reporting the utter chills up my leg journalism compliments of chris matthews that you have seen lately and calling it out for all to see.

Alas...tis time

to resurrect "Brian the Idiot"....which I used back when the poor dolt was "agressively misunderstood" for his stupid comments about the Special Forces.  I see BtI is still the fawning sycophant...I missed the bow thing.

Good to see Stewart take a jab at such stupidity, too bad it wasn't directed at The One, though, for allowing such tripe.  Oh, I forgot, Barry's a rock star and deserves all of the adulation.

I hope he fails, too.

Gosh

That's just rude of Stewart. Mocking Williams for his man-crush on Obama is just plain homophobic. I see a bright shining future where Obama and Williams are free to teabag each other without major TV hosts making fun of them.

Moment of Zen.

Obviously you don't watch Stewart regularly he makes fun of everyone, all the news networks. If someone does something stupid than he lampoons them, which means he makes fun of Joe Biden a lot.

   Obviously you missed

Obviously you missed the point, Jon Stewart or Liebowitz has been one of the people in the "news" media who " has the hots for Obama"  but he's a comedy show so  it really doesn't matter.

also, Obama has siad some dingers that make Dan Quayle look like a member of mensa, but Jonny boy seems to not notice that, for example had GW Bush said he had visited 57 states with 3 left to go, not including Hawaii or Alaska (which would add up to 62 total states)  as President he would have been torn up and down by all, had he said that as a CANDIDATE that would have been the last time you would have seen GW.

FINALY A REAL CANDIATE FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!

Stewart has probably poked

Stewart has probably poked fun at Obama more than any other comedy show on TV.

Jon Stewart usually makes me

Jon Stewart usually makes me want to choke myself to death but this was actually funny.  I guess you could say I like Obama, his staff and Jon Stewart more than I do Brian Williams.  That guy is such an embarrassment.

Unfortunately, sometimes I

Unfortunately, sometimes I choose to support who I dislike the least.  This round goes to Jon Stewart.

(Are the NBC hosts neck-deep in stock options, or is there no logical explanation for their extreme behind-smooching of General Electric's business partner, President Obama?)
