Ever since Liz Cheney schooled the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson on enhanced interrogation techniques and national security issues on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" a few weeks back, she's become a fan favorite here at NewsBusters.
Given the respectful way she's treated by the folks on "Morning Joe," one gets the feeling her demeanor and grasp of the facts is quickly making her a very serious conservative pundit.
With that in mind, seeing as this show is on very early, and the likelihood many missed her this morning discussing President Obama's Cairo speech, below the fold for your entertainment pleasure is embedded the video of her appearance (h/t Hot Air):

I'm thinking there are two Fox Reports with Shep Smith.
We can keep Shep for the News and take Liz.
Better yet, Run that filly in the big race in 2012. Gotta admit, she's faster on her feet than Palin or Pawlenty.

June 4, 2009 - 18:10 ET by EugeniaShe's definitely smart, but what are her positions on the social issues? If she's no different from Obama in that respect, that's a problem for me. If she's a fiscal and national defense conservative/social liberal, there are cabinet positions for her that I'd like to see her in. Just not prez.

Both Former Vice President Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney believe
June 4, 2009 - 20:59 ET by Rush Fanit should be up to each state to decide if gay marriage should be legal. Dick Cheney said this in his interview with Greta VAN SUSTEREN:
D. CHENEY: I made the announcement at the outset that I believe equal rights means equal rights for everybody and that people ought to be able to enter into any kind of relationship they want, but that the states ought to retain the ability to regulate and determine what's marriage and what the legal status of those unions are. It should not be a federal issue.
VAN SUSTEREN: President Obama is in favor of civil unions, not in favor of gay marriage. Are you saying you're in favor -- if you were, you know, hitting the button in the voting booth, that you would be for your state having gay marriage, or would be you be ...
D. CHENEY: Well, I look at it, obviously, in personal terms. And my daughter, Mary, is in a -- you know, I think a very commendable relationship with somebody she's known for a long time, and I'm strongly supportive of that.
---------------------------
I, also, am very impressed with Liz Cheney. She is an excellent spokesperson for Republicans. Can you imagine Katie Couric or Charles Gibson attempting to put one over on Liz Cheney by asking her what she reads or what is the Bush Doctrine? She would make mincemeat of them.

RF, I am all for states
June 5, 2009 - 08:52 ET by Dan The Man 2RF, I am all for states rights and believe if a state wants to vote for marriage of humans and anilmals then they should be allowed to. The problem comes when marriages can be declared not legal and then legal and not legal at the whims of the populace. In theory it works fine but in practice all we need to do is look at California where they recently went back and forth.
So where does that leave us as a nation and them as a state and the perverts who were married. The implications are really sticky. Do the married couples have legal rights in California as the few who do and aberation? And how does this set with the full faith clause in the Constitution? Is Texas obligated to recognize nontraditional/odd marriages in other states?
They reecognize normal ones so why should odd ones be an exception?
Liz Cheney would make a good canditate; she seems to have charisma a good grasp of the facts and some conservative values. Just think an all woman ticket Palin/Cheney. Woot
Dan - I'm for states rights also, but not when it comes to
June 5, 2009 - 10:27 ET by Rush Fandefining marriage. I live in California, and voted for Proposition 8 (marriage defined as only between a man and a woman).
I agree with you that confusion reigns when the definition of marriage can be constantly changed by the whims of the voters, or when the definition of marriage is different in each state. Even the passing of Proposition 8 has created additional confusion, since the California Supreme Court ruled that it was not retroactive and approximately 18,000 gay marriages that were performed previously are still valid.
I agree with you that the definition of marriage should be the same in every state to avoid conflicting laws. I would prefer that marriage be defined as between one man and one woman. However, if gays were able to persuade voters to legalize gay marriage, I would like to see a Federal Marriage Amendment rather than various conflicting state laws.
My proposed Federal Marriage Amendment would define marriage as only between two people. This would eliminate my major concern regarding marriage laws, that marriage would eventually be defined as anything the states enacted, such as marriage between three or four couples (or animals to use your example).
A Cheney/Palin ticket is a not only a dream ticket, but a winning ticket. They both have the ability to articulate the conservative values that can win elections. They also are articulate enough to counter the leftist bias in the state-run media. The Republican Party will continue to lose if it nominates RINOs like McCain who are politicians with few core values.
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Powell's not a Republican. McCain's not a Republican. These guys are not even mavericks. They are Washingtonians. Washingtonians have their own culture and their own desires, and it is to matter. They don't care who's in power, they just want to be closely associated with whoever is. That's the name of the game and they want press adulation. They want to be loved and adored by the media, they want fawning treatment, they want to be thought of as something special, unique, dignified and so forth, and that's the Washington establishment." - Rush Limbaugh

Here's one political dynasty I can support.

June 4, 2009 - 21:27 ET by vote24Palin is still A number one on my list. She is the ONLY ONE. Don't let them make you forget "that speech". That was the only time in the campaign when Obama was "shakin in his boots". Because "they" savaged her WE say she's damaged goods? I see it as a badge of honor for her. She ran the gaunlet, and it looks like she's preparing to go again, and loaded for bear. Liz Cheney does seem to have possibilities, and a bright future.

One other note... there is a very likely chance that the Hizbullah-led opposition (with Michel Aoun and his Christian dupes who are allied with Nasrallah) will win the majority in this Sunday's Lebanese parliamentary elections.
Yes, that would be the same Hizbullah who helped blow up the Khobar Towers in Saudi, who blew up the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, and who drove the truck bomb into the Marine Barracks at the Beirut Airport in 1982.
Wonder what Hopey McChangey's plans are for an anti-U.S.-led Lebanon?
