How much is "Nightly News" host Brian Williams in the tank for President Obama?
Well, as part I of NBC's special report "Inside the Obama White House" came to a close Tuesday, Williams, while saying good night to the president, actually bowed his head.
I kid you not (embedded video and partial transcript below the fold):
BRIAN WILLIAMS: Now it is first family time and time for us to say good night. Mr. President...
Pres. OBAMA: All right.
WILLIAMS: ...that's your elevator.
Pres. OBAMA: It is. Thank you.
WILLIAMS: Thank you, sir. (bows head) Have a good evening.
Pres. OBAMA: Appreciate it. Thank you very much.
WILLIAMS: We'll see you Tuesday. Thank you.
Pres. OBAMA: Thank you.
Any questions?

Okay. I agree that he bowed to the Saudi king. I agree that Williams briefly nodded/slightly bowed his head as he was saying goodbye to Obama. I don't know the entire range of emotions which may have actuated this gesture and neither do you, so #4 may or may not be accurate. Your attachment of the word "Satanic" to describe the four cited examples is absurd, in each and every case.

I also believe Williams was specially moved to ceremonially show his allegiance to Obama. You've seen him bow before?
Obama flies to the Middle East, throws in Saudi Arabia at the last minute, and isn't able to include our friend Israel in the trip?
Obama is then flying to France to commemorate Normandy, but the Queen of England, who actually experienced the war he commemorates, isn't invited?
Things are changing fast, and you're not seeing it.

I think a clarification is
June 4, 2009 - 21:03 ET by stratmanI think a clarification is in order concerning D-Day remembrance this year.
The Queen of England was not invited, so we are told. Who's fault is that? Probably the French, since it is their country that's putting on the event.
Is Obama off the hook for this debacle. NO! He is a willing participant in this insult.
Didn't the Brits fight in Africa and Middle East against the Muslims that had aligned themselves with Hitler? Americans and some Frenchmen fought those battles too, so, plenty of bitterness to go around for Barry. Then there is that allegation that Churchill commanded the troops that beat his grandfather.
Maybe if the Queen had given Obama some bling like the Saudi king then Barry would have chilled out. Yes. It must be everyone else's fault.
Instead, the chip on Obama's shoulder is planetary-sized.

One would have to lay responsibility of the Queen's non-invite at the feet of Sarkozy. I do know if any input on this insult was imparted by Obama and his admisistration. In other words, given Obama's history of treating the Brits, I am not wholly convinced that this situation is a machination of the French alone.
Could you please clue me into what you mean exactly. I am confused as to your position with my post.
Jer:
I do not mean this insultingly, but, your questions are besides the point. Unless the Queen or her representatives expressly stated she or her representatives would not be attending the memorial before invitations were sent out, the Queen should have been invited based on diplomacy alone, let alone other considerations of historical and future import.
As to the Queen's travel schedule, she did manage to visit America in 2007. I'd bet that if the Queen can travel to Balmoral Castle in Scotland that she could chunnel it to Normandy for a ceremony memorializing an event critical to her United Kingdom's continued existence. AFAIK, the Queen is quite partial to tradition and honor. Maybe one of our resident Brits, like Jack Bauer, can speak more knowledgeably about this topic.

You might want to watch it again.Unless his head is so heavy it forced his shoulders to bend. You notice Brian bow and Obama nodded. But go ahead continue on with your excuses. They are entertaining. You can go to 9 sec part and say that is a nod but it aint.

June 3, 2009 - 22:42 ET by balboaHe was not bowing in submission or in worship. Get over it. I realize that goes along with the rest of the Obama Messiah thing -- and you have excellent, accurate points about many of them -- but this is molehill / mountain territory.

June 3, 2009 - 22:51 ET by well99Well bal I didn’t think he was doing it be submissive or in worship but it looked good. As I posted to Jer it's unprofessional. He suppose to be objective. Since he is a real journalist not a pundit. Maybe you can post a link to the last time he bowed to GWB.
You know that's impossible
June 3, 2009 - 22:57 ET by balboaYou know that's impossible to do. Had he bowed to Bush, no one would have noticed or cared, so there's probably not a Youtube video out there that specifically shows Williams bowing to Bush. So I'd have to pore over all the video of the two of them together, which I don't have access to.

June 4, 2009 - 22:35 ET by balboaGC, I know what, that Williams never "bowed" to Bush?
As for Bush holding hands with a foreign dignitary, that's the kinda silly stuff heads of state get involved with. I imagine that I used it as a counterpoint to someone claiming a democrat looked foolish doing something, etc., but cripes I don't remember that far back.
→ Uh-huh.
June 3, 2009 - 23:05 ET by Cool ArrowAnd Obama didn't bow to King Abdullah either, did he?
I think it's perfectly natural that Williams would bow to the man who has sold our grandchildren into slavery.
I've got kids. I've got grandkids. And Obama's social engineering project is nothing less than Satanic.
Even Pharaoh demanded no more than 20% from the Egyptians. And they actually sold themselves and their lands to Pharaoh.
This is generational theft. It's Satanic.

That bow ain't nothin compared to Obama's bow before the Muslim King.
But seriously, while it wasn't a full bow, it certainly was a gesture of profound heart-felt respect. Nothing wrong with that, he (Obama) is the POTUS, after all, but I don't believe Williams ever paid Bush the same courtesy.

Just A Matter of Time
June 4, 2009 - 00:55 ET by BondPlainBondSoon it will be "reflex" for the media elite, especially those at MSNBC, to mimic the infamous Hitlergruß of World War II. They already speak "Our Dear Leader"-ese.
This evening's NBC propaganda roll described the life and times of the Obama females, a good amount of time devoted to the Obama's beautiful girls.
Strange thing about the reporting was Brian Williams, asserting authoritatively, more than three times, the Obama daughters are the youngest children to live in the White House since the children of John F. Kennedy's presidency.
Simply negated the entire Whiye House life and years of the very young Miss Amy Carter.
As reported by NBC:
From Wikipedia:
Williams never mentioned Amy Carter in his report.
How will NBC Universal handle all those pre-ordered DVDs that neglect to mention Miss Carter?
Will NBC add something to all the DVDs they've already duplicated for sale to correct their obvious error, or,
Will NBC achieve in rewriting history - beginning with this widely distributed DVD containing the glaring omission of the Carter presidency having a nine-year-old in the White House after the JFK years?
ObamaLove is blind, isn't it? It can make you so blind, facts, that matter to the story, are conveniently forgotten in favor of rewriting history, to prop up Obama as something more than he is, as having achieved something he has not.
It's a pathetic and disgusting display of, as Bernie Goldberg would say, a slobbering love affair between the media and Obama.
The truth doesn't matter, what he actually says doesn't matter, he's a celebrity, the greatest star of them all - he's Obama. Swoon, if you know what's good for you.

June 4, 2009 - 05:26 ET by SamI think people still underestimate how much control liberals have over the news. Even this item is a perfect example. I went to the YouTube video linked off DrudgeReport and of course the comments are disabled. I knew they would be before I got there. Anything that is even slightly anti-liberal will have comments disabled (oh, I'm sure they'll have some lame excuse) so it can't come to the top of the "most commented" list and gain attention of a larger audience.
