Lou Dobbs: Olbermann is a 'Left-wing Hack' and a 'Whack Job'

According to Lou Dobbs, MSNBC's Keith Olberman is a a "left-wing hack" and a "whack job" that "has to spend so much time adjusting his medication he can't figure out what he's doing."

So said Dobbs on his radio program Friday in response to a caller who wanted him to bring on folks like Andre Michael Eggelletion, Joe Myers, Al Sharpton, and Keith Olbermann to assist him in better understanding what's going on in the world.

Dobbs marvelously replied (audio below the fold courtesy our friend Johnny Dollar via Hot Air headlines, partial transcript as well):

Oronde, you just lost me, partner. Those are ideological, I mean, you're just talking about moving over to the left rather than the right. C'mon, now. Don't call up here telling me that you want talk about real solutions and then push us off to the left rather than the right. I just got through saying that we're all about the center. I mean, you're talking about a guy in Olbermann, that guy has to spend so much time adjusting his medication he can't figure out what he's doing. He's a left-wing hack. What are you talking about, Oronde?...Wait a minute. Don't be telling me about divisions. You come on here and you're complaining about Beck and Limbaugh, and then you start ballyhooing those lefties. I mean, what's, what happened to the moderation? What happened to credibility, the center? That's where we're living. Why are you pushing off to the left?...Oronde, you're talking about moving to the, I'm talking about 280 million Americans who live in the center of this country, and you're talking about these whack jobs on the left and the right. How 'bout coming to something in the center here?...That's what I'm all about, partner, but your pushing Olbermann and these other guys...For crying out loud, Oronde, you're, you're, I thought you were talking about a solution. You're part of the problem, man. You're a carrier. You're a carrier. You're just, you're carrying around the left water instead of the right water. And that isn't going to get us anywhere, partner.

No it's not, Lou. Thanks for saying.

Wow.

Any guesses as to who will be "Worst Person in the World" on Monday?

If I were Dobbs, I would

If I were Dobbs, I would carry it like a badge of honor.

“There are no easy answers' but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.” - Ronald Reagan (1964 Republican Convention)

He likely will, but he's

He likely will, but he's earned part of that.  For Dobbs to drift into accusations about someones medication and other such things is no different than the crud the Socialists pull.  Stick to the facts, point out their lies and exaggerations, and leave it at that.  Don't resort to name calling and other childish tactics.

Congratulations....you're

Congratulations....you're probably the only person in the world who believes that Dobbs was literally accusing Olberman of being on medication.

SpaceMan ~ I would normally agree, however consider the

person who is being talked about and what this person has said.

Sorry, I for one, cannot be dignified when speaking about KO.  He is a bigoted, childish, angry...  ad infinitum  dope.

Sometimes there are some who deserve our scorn.  KO is most likely one of them.

KO does deserve all kinds

KO does deserve all kinds of scorn because he's a liar and a shill.  But resorting to name calling is KO's M-O.  Anti-Socialists will need to work hard to set themselves apart.

I know we all name-call a little, but we all also know it's not how you prove a point or win an argument.  When you are speaking to the masses, be a pro, not a Mr. Tingle-up-my-leg.

Correct, again sms ~ Well, since this guy will not allow

contrary views on his program we may never know how he would respond to the truth.

Sorry, exhausted today... actually, we do... he would ignore

the truth and continue on what he is doing... hopefully we can continue to point this out to others.

Say what???

Self-gratification warps the mind. At least that is what I was told when a child. You must practice it in depth. I saw the show. I never heard a blessed thing about drugs. Are you on them that you hear words that are not said???

As to name calling--at one point I would have agreed with you--but-- my idiotic liberal statement storage compartment overflowed even before your Messiah took office and it tends to create angry statements in self defense.

This from a man who calls himself SpaceManSpiff

So, just curious, do you own a ray gun?  Got a cape and a metal helment in the closet.

The medication metaphor about KO is spot on.  The man is a loon at best and a con artist at worst.  He really needs a colonic rinse to clear up his thinking.

No helmet, cape, or

No helmet, cape, or ray-gun.  Olberman likely has two out of three of those, though.

Actually, Spaceman Spiff is

Actually, Spaceman Spiff is one of the alter egos of Calvin in Calvin & Hobbes comic strips.  It always makes me smile to see that name. :)

KO is a leftist shrill, and much as I've seen Dobbs show, he does at least attempt to play it down the middle (naturally I see a tilt left) but that's alright.  I'd consider Dobbs and Beck to be equals on opposite sides of the court.

Childish Tactics

Hey SpaceManSpiff, we're taking off the gloves! It obviously doesn't bother the American voter or we wouldn't have the Teleprompter Messiah. Have you forgotten Mr. No Attack McCain? He wanted to run a decent campaign and look where hes at! The Communist Libs in this country have brought the fight to the street and thats where we will fight them! The dirt we throw at them will be from the piles of dirt they have lobbed at us for the last four years. When we regain control of Congress we will have them running for coffee and lunch for us as we figure out assignments for them. I think we assign Morticia Pelosi and Barnadette Frank to clean toilets. Comrade Josef Conyers will mop the floor. Since Digger O'reid likes to be on top, we'll assign him to hold the flag on top of the Capitol Building. We'll have Eddie Haskell wash all our cars! Yep! They made it dirty so its gonna stay dirty!

I don't think he will name Dobbs "TWPITW" or if...

he does, it will be in a totally different context.  Olbermann is a coward and the last thing he wants to do is bring attention to what other people in the media are saying about HIM!  Jim Webster

True.

But Dobbs and CNN get even lower ratings than Olbermann does.  I don't think he'll be afraid to take Dobbs on --from a distance, of course, and with no rebuttal.

"Man of the middle, brother"

Lou Dobbs has no ratings because, by his own admission, he is a "Man of the Middle".  Who wants to listen to that wishy-washy no real position on most everything kind of stuff?

"When will Barack Obama apologize to the American people for destroying their once great nation?" - MSM 2012

well Noel

by implication Lou was comparing Beck and Rush to Olbermann with the only difference being whether they are on the left or right.

So as i see it he was implying that they all are hacks

It's all about the center seems to be Lou's position, what an invitation to increased usage of Hegallian tactic

"Outside of a dog a book is man's best friend,------------inside a dog it's too dark to read"   ---Groucho

Sounded like

Rush was being called a whack job too?

I don't get the comparrison between Olbermann vis-a-vis Rush and Beck?

Only thing in the middle with Dobbs is the possum!

I agree.  I don't

I agree.  I don't understand this moral equivlence between Limbaugh and someone like Olbermann.  Limbaugh makes every effort to substantiate and support his positions; he uses reason and logic.  Olbermann is a gasbag who spews nothing but empty invective.  To insinuate that both of these individuals are equally guilty of something is absurd.

The most successful war America has ever waged is quickly becoming President Obama's war on capitalism.

"Don't call up here telling

"Don't call up here telling me that you want talk about real solutions and then push us off to the left rather than the right. "

Good for Lou Dobbs, but why does he think that wise solutions must reside at "the center" ? And why do so many of these centrists think that the government has to come up with solutions? How about policies that make it able for us to come up with our own solutions?

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Excellent points

The power of this country has never been in the cleverness of government (I nearly gag at the idea of putting cleverness and government in the same sentence). It has always grown among free people.

KC,You must be

KC,

You must be getting weary also of hearing these people and their pat talk about "solutions", as if government can come up with neat tidy little policies that will solve huge complicated problems - if "we all just work together". Even Newt Gingrich and his "American solutions" comes off sounding like a scam.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Getting tired

Here's how I think of it. Suppose you're a football player, your team is on its own 20, and you go into the huddle. One quarterback comes into the huddle and calls for the longest pass in the playbook, and says, "we're going to score right now." You just sigh, go up to the line, and do your best. Naturally, the pass doesn't work. He calls the same play two more times. You punt.

The next series, a new quarterback comes into the huddle and says, what a jerk that first guy was. Then he calls three long passes himself. You sigh, you go up to the line, and do your best. You go three and out.

My attitude is: forget the long pass that will score in one play. We don't want to leap to score, we want to march. Stop calling plays that will glorify the quarterback. We'll grind it out. Meat and potatoes. Simple. Clear. Get first down. Move the chains. We can't lose if we do that. The only thing stopping us is that the quarterbacks don't get all the glory.

Rush and Beck "Whack Jobs"?

"You come on here and you're complaining about Beck and Limbaugh...you're talking about these whack jobs on the left and the right."

Actually, Lou, you are one of the whack jobs pushing the idea that Limbaugh and Beck are liars, not attempting every day to bring out the truth about what the statist progressives have been up to for more than a century now.  If you have access to it, watch Beck's show from Friday, April 10, Lou.  Guests were Amity Schlaes, Bernard Goldberg, and two other historians who pointed out the absolute mess the progressive statists- in whatever form they arise- fascist, communist, liberal, etc.- have made of every country they have assumed power in.  Then you tell me Beck is a whack job, Lou.  Oh, I know, you don't like the Tea Party thing?  Center my ass, Lou, you are part of the problem.  You couldn't see the truth if it smacked you in the face.

"The future is not set.  There is no fate but what we make for ourselves."

I don't usally catch Beck...

..due to usually being at work at that time, but for some reason I decided to TiVo it on Friday. I'm glad I did, it was a good episode. I especially enjoyed Jonah Goldberg's remarks; they covered a lot of topics discussed in "Liberal Fascism" like Woodrow Wilson's police state tactics.

Correction

Thanks for the correction, it was Jonah Goldberg, not Bernard.  Here is the complete list:

Jonah Goldberg:  "Liberal Fascism: The Blog" and  "Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning

Amity Schlaes:  "The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression"

Robert Gellately:  "Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler: The Age of Social Catastrophe"

Ronald J. Pestritto:  "Woodrow Wilson and the Roots of Modern Liberalism"  and another that looked very interesting, with one of the Republicans favorite icons, who was instrumental in derailing constitutionalism in favor of progressivism, right on the cover:  "American Progressivism: A Reader"

These are not right wing whack jobs.

"The future is not set.  There is no fate but what we make for ourselves."

michaelyon-online.com

I tink Jonah Goldberg and

I tink Jonah Goldberg and his "Liberal Fascism" is closer and more descriptive to what's happening right now with Obama and the liberals than some others who just label it all "socialism".

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Chris

Agree.  It really doesn't matter what you call it-socialism, nazism, fascism, communism.  It is all statism and was embraced by the so-called "progressive" politics that evolved during the last half of the 19th century.  Wilson actually stated that the constitution "must evolve or be thrown into the dustbin of history...'living political constitutions must be Darwinian in structure and in practice.  Society is a living organism and must obey the laws of Life...it must develop."  Hence "all that progressives ask or desire is permission- in an era when 'development,' 'evolution,' is the scientific word- to interpret the Constitution according to the Darwinian principle" 12  -Liberal Fascism, p. 88.  And that is what they are still doing today.  That is why they hate and attack so violently any form of constitutionalism, or adherence to original intent.  Note the hatred of Scalia and Thomas on the bench, Mark Levin and Rush, Reagan, and currently Bobby Jindall and Sarah Palin.

Remember the Hillary statement the she is a progressive and is proud of the progressive movement that went back to the beginning of the century?  Beck and this panel of scholars pointed out that constitutional government has been derailed, starting with TR, amplified and continued with Wilson, Hoover, FDR and right up through George Bush.  Whatever they tried to spin him as, Bush was not a conservative.  He had a few conservativc moments, but he was not a conservative.

It is going to take a major shift in perception among the masses to re-orient this train.  I'm not holding my breath, but not giving up either.  Who knows what may happen?  Whatever, Beck and Rush are certainly not right wing whack jobs.  Dobbs and all on the left who perceive themselves as middle of the roaders, will never have the pleasure of the truth that many of us are privy to.  Some days though, I'm not so sure I'm glad I woke up, but that doesn't last long.  The allure of the Matrix is great.  Olberman is Smith.

"The future is not set.  There is no fate but what we make for ourselves."

I hate to tell Lou, but the fence straddlers in the mushy middle

but if I did, I'd take a peek at Lou Dobbs.  Jim Webster

Olbermann Is Passé

At least someone other than conservative pundits had the guts to say what Olbermann truly is. (Lumping Limbaugh and Beck in with him was extremely stupid, but we can only hope for so much.)

Liberal politicos and other leaders of the Democratic party shun Olbermann as much as anyone does, they just remain silent about it.

Lumping Rush and Beck together shows ignorance. Rush is a...

Conservative and Beck is a Libertarian.  Olbermann is simply a Kook who appeals to other Kooks.  I know Rush derides "Middle of the Roaders" as living where the yellow line lies, but in this instance, he belongs between Olbermann and Beck.  Don't get me wrong.  I love Glenn Beck and thanks to my DVR, I watch him every day he's on.  That said, I believe the future of America as hoped and prayed for by our Founding Fathers, belongs with Conservatism, not Libertarianism and certainly not Kookism.  Jim Webster

Microsoft gets free pass, Why?

Let's imagine a giant global software company with access to nearly all computers is supporting (and lending its name) to a network that is the equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan in its outright lies and unbridled hate. That network is Microsoft National Broadcasting Co., or MSNBC.

Then imagine that no one in the media even writes an investigative article or two on the linked "privacy" issue. If GM were the partner in the network, we'd have hysteria and riots about the situation driven by the media. Instead, we have the silence of the lambs.

same litter box

so much e-go ,  where do you start ,,,media sell outs are a dime a dozen, but these butt head's are bargain basement.

Lou Dobbs is jealous of Rush and Beck

During the Bush Administration, DOBBS SIDED WITH THE LEFT.    Dobbs is now reaping his actions. His conservative listeners left his station and his show.  What is left for Dobbs are unproductive listeners.  That caller is exactly the kind of people who listen to Lou Dobbs anymore.

This incident doesn't change anything about Lou Dobss and CNN.

I will still continue my boycotting of MSM, particularly Dobbs and his lying station..... the newly-improved, more liberal CNN. .. the extension of the White House Press.

Dobbs is insinuating that

Dobbs is insinuating that we all need to be pandering populists.  There is nothing morally superior about being in "the middle".  In fact, that is often the most dangerous place to be.

Further, there is no basis of comparison between Limbaugh/Beck and Olbermann.  Limbaugh and Beck generally form cogent and logical arguments supported with facts and reason.  Olbermann spews illogical emotional nonsense, and what little fact is included in his points is often untrue.  Anyone who lumps Olbermann in with Limbaugh is clueless.

The most successful war America has ever waged is quickly becoming President Obama's war on capitalism.

Olbermann was a freakin'

Olbermann was a freakin' sportscaster for most of his career.  He went from covering baseball to an expert in politics.

The was always looking for the limelight.  Acting like a left wing lunatic has garnered him a lot of attention and money.  The guy is a political pundit plucked off local sports coverage and ESPN.

I guess the left has a hard time finding guys with any sort of "jock" credentials to pitch their propaganda to men, so they hired this guy.

Couldn't they pick some washington correspondent from CNN or the networks?  They went with a sportscaster?  What the hell?  Why does anyone even take him seriously?

I don't think he even really believes anything he says.  He just says what his bosses want him to say in order to sell this BS to the "red blooded american males" that the left has a hard time reaching out to.   Sportscaster turned political pundit overnight?

I have liked Dobb's for

I have liked Dobb's for about two years now.  I like him for one reason and one reason only: he reports a lot about illegal aliens when nobody else will.  No matter how much Dobb's offends me politically on other issues, he is right on when it comes to immigration and now, Keith Olbermann.

Replace Shep With Dobbs

I would love to see FNC replace Shep (light in the loafers) Smith with Lou Dobbs. Bringing Dobbs fans to FNC would be another slap in the face for CNN.

BW222

Re Shemp

I agree Shemp is a lost hour, but Dobbs is fine where he is. He's as nutty a populist as BOR and Fox doesn't need two of those. At 7pm I generally watch Kudlow on CNBC or Dobbs on CNN.

Ingraham is more than capable of her own show too. The problem though is that Fox can't overdo the opinion over hard news. 6pm is hard news and Shemp tries to be that too. They need someone more credible than Shemp at 7, but someone that can do hard news like Hume used to. Another way to go at it is to simply make the 6pm hard news a 2 hour show.

Fox already has someone in their...

lineup who is more than capable of replacing "Shemp" Smith (Mark Levin's name for the guy and I agree) and that is the morning guy named Bill Hemmer.  Nothing irritates me more than the timing on my DVR that catches the tail end of Shemp's show before BOR starts.  His signoff never fails to make me cringe.  Maybe it's a Male/Female thing.  My ex-wife thinks he's great.  Jim Webster

Sheep Smith is suppose to

Sheep Smith is suppose to be hard news but he is nothing more than a token lib for fox. I can't believe they can't find a down the middle news reporter instead of this wierdo.
