An Iranian website is claiming that Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently had a shoe thrown at him while en route to give a speech ahead of the upcoming elections.
Given the tremendous attention given to President Bush having a shoe thrown at him by an Iraqi journalist last December, one has to wonder if American media will report this incident or ignore it.
Consider what was published by Israel's Haaretz Saturday:
A shoe was recently hurled at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad while he was in the city of Urmia, an Iranian Web site has reported.
The incident in the Iranian city was an apparent imitation of a similar attack on former U.S. president George Bush in Iraq last year.
Urmia News, the Iranian site, reported that Ahmadinejad was in a car en route to an election rally when the shoe was thrown. Ahmadinejad was traveling to a local stadium where he was meant to deliver a speech ahead of upcoming presidential elections.
Will American media care about this? After all, according to LexisNexis, there were almost 1,000 reports in December when it happened to President Bush.

My guess is they will go it alone this time and will not even inform the U.S. of their intentions. I wouldn't blame them, really, as the Organizer and his (hand-picked?) Foggy Bottom basement-dweller Herr Hillary von Ribbentrop appear to be making preparations to throw Israel under the bus.
Somehow I don't see Netanyahu playing along.
It appears the Organizer's handlers are very quietly going about trying to alter the pecking order in this world to better reflect their totalitarian world view.
I still can't believe the Norks got off virtually unscathed for their role in helping the Syrians in their well known efforts to wipe an Israeli city off the map with a whopper or two.
I have a sneaking suspicion that had our CIC been named Harry S., Pyongyang would have found itself firmly embedded in the face of Mars in very short order.

I read a while back that Bush nixed plans they had to go in 2008.
I assume that plan needed US support -- they Jews must know that if they couldn't get Bush on board... there's ZERO chance on the current lot of semi-detached ahem -- let's just say they'd be happy to see the Jewish problem disappear too.
I expect the Pentagon to get a heads up about 10 seconds before the first diversionary assaults.

Yes, in the end, Israel wins, absolutely. It's the whole, 'What about in the meantime?', that worries me. I do see Obama turning his back on Israel and aligning himself, AND the US by virtue of guilt by association, with the Israel-haters. Clinton is already laying the groundwork for this. (However, I fully realize that this particular area of NB is not the forum for such discussion, so I will stop here.) With Obammy in charge, I don't see a path to success in a strike on Iran. Can you see Obammy allowing a strike to fly over Iraq on the way to Iran?
I believe Israel now has to wait out the inevitable, and then strike back at Iran with everything they have. Probably 25m dead. The upside, no more Iran. Other questions, -will they take out any other enemies along the way like Syria, and will the US try to stop them. We are headed for armageddon in the Middle East and we will be very lucky if it is limited to the Middle East.
