Hey clinger!
February 28, 2009 - 20:27 ET by BlondeI read your earlier comments about your trip to D.C.
I'd love to go...I really want to see the new wing of the A&S museum...but it sounds like the whole town is smoking dope.
Must ask (since I'm somewhat of the self-styled fashion police, here).....did you visit the innaugural gown exhibit? And if so, was MO's dress as horrendous in person as it was in the pictures? Cause she looked like she was wearing Aunt Bea's bathrobe, to me.
I hope he fails, too.
yeah, they're high, all right!
February 28, 2009 - 20:51 ET by clinging to my guns and my religionthe new "wing" of the a&s is all the way out at dulles, but worth every dollar of the cab rides to and from! it's huge and spectacular! no pc police there; the imax movies make you remember why you love america, and the enola gay is on display right next to lots of examples of axis powers flying machines. even have the entire enterprise space shuttle, and a concorde.
in the american history museum, the first ladies' gallery was a huge disappointment. used to be two, sometimes three rooms of gowns and china and painted portraits, but right now they have it pared down to about thirty feet of glass cases with only about eight gowns, just a few pieces of china, and the head shots of each lady. the latest "gown" is conspicuously absent. (wonder if it's being travelled about by obamaniacs who swear if you touch the hem, you'll be healed. maybe they put it next to laura's gown, saw the disparity, and decided to retreat and regroup, lol.)

I know the new A&S is out at Dulles....and the Enola Gay is THE reason I want to go.
Last time I went to DC (2002....I'd planned a trip to take my mom for her 80th b'day in 2001, but 9/11 blew that...don't even get me started on USAir who tried to screw me out of airfare because they couldn't fly into National!!!!....Anyway, I took mom to the Smithsonian....we never got out of the "rock room"...LOL).
Good times, always!

February 28, 2009 - 21:31 ET by clinging to my guns and my religion...in d.c., here's what i'd do differently:
1) see the botanical gardens, but skip the guided tour. the guide turned her description of every plant into a lesson in "al gore-isms". waaaaay out of line.
2) rent a car to go to the new a&s wing out by dulles. the museum is a "must-see", but the cab ride is $50 each way. see the imax movies, and if you have to choose just one, let it be "a fighter pilot's story".
3) just say "no" to the american history museum. its glory days are gone with the revisionists and the p.c. police. everywhere you look, americans are being portrayed as having built our country solely at the expense of every ethnic group except the white male.
4) take at least two sets of blinders, lol!

Lincoln and Reagan
February 28, 2009 - 19:54 ET by Kingfish17It's amazing how far this MSM has come when they will lump Reagan in with Lincoln or FDR. Reagan was absolutely hated by the MSM back in the 80s, to the same tune as was W. They may have cut Reagan a little more slack because he was quick witted and entertaining, both qualities that the MSM admires.
I think they praise Reagan reluctantly though.
Only one question was talked over
February 28, 2009 - 20:03 ET by nwahsOnly one question was avoided, and the person trying to clarify the question, hushed. It pretty much had to do with, "Is antagonism a good political strategy." Well Ann went off on a PC speech, which was not the question. I am glad someone asked it, because it means they are discussing it.
I also noted a muted response to the Obama/Jesus jokes. I'm thinking Evangelicals in the crowd consider that blasphemy, regardless if the purpose is to make fun of Obama. I figure they believe Jesus shouldn't be in any joke. I sensed a little discomfort in the audience for that.
I'd love to see her and Bill Maher's debate. Hope it goes DVD.

February 28, 2009 - 21:31 ET by needle1) Considering the way elitist and arrogant liberals think and act as if conservatives should be neither seen nor heard, when you think about it, antagonism is about the only via answer, besides the obsequious “yessir” & “no ma’m” reminiscent of Southern slaves.
2) Evidently, from the way liberals talk to and act towards conservatives, antagonism is just about all they understand.

February 28, 2009 - 21:47 ET by Cool ArrowThe best way to get under a Liberal's skin is to point out their cruelty.
I do it by pointing out how they must necessarily keep tethered an underclass whom they trot out as pathetic specimens to demonstrate the need for more and ever-increasing government programs.
I do disagree with Limbaugh on one point. He believes they truly think they're righting a wrong. I honestly believe they are intentionally cruel, haughty and self-promoting.
We won the cold war! Why did we surrender?
Rush contradicts himself on that..

"I do disagree with Limbaugh on one point. He believes they truly think

"
Well actually Rush contradicts himself on that point. In the first part of the speech he implies malice by asking the rhetorical question "The United States is prosperous, why do you want to destroy it?"
Then he states toward the end (EDIT: middle - I see they've uploaded 5 more parts) of his speech, "The think they are compassionate."

February 28, 2009 - 22:03 ET by BlondeAs usual, you have things bass ackwards.
Ha.....I'm sure you haven't listened to any of it.
BTW....what is contradictory about anything Rush said? We are prosperous (or at least we were until this confiscatory socialist came to power).
Waiting for the spinning to begin,
I hope he fails, too.
I'm not spinning, I'm giving two statements
February 28, 2009 - 22:26 ET by nwahsFrom the same speech
"How did America become the most prosperous nation in the world, and why, pray tell, does the President of the United states want to destroy it?"
And later
"they do believe they have compassion, they do believe they care."
So which is it? Malice or differing opinions of what is best?
You spin. IMO, the two statements are irreconcilable.

February 28, 2009 - 22:47 ET by BlondeWhat are you smoking there, fella? "Start with the insults"?
WTF are you talking about?
There wasn't one little iota of contradiction in either of the quotes you put up.
So, why don't you put up or shut up, before you make a further ass out of your postings here tonite?
Keep it up, dude......I have plenty of time to pick you apart bit by bit. It's what I'm known for here, and I haven't done it in a while.
Your turn.
I hope he fails, too.
You're not picking apart anyone apart
February 28, 2009 - 23:12 ET by nwahsGrow up. You're not that important or scary.
The two statements are contradictory because one states the President wants to tear down the US (malice) and the other states they think they ( the administration) are acting correctly ( error). If you don't see why the statements contradict each other, either the concept of contradiction is out of your grasp , you don't consider the United States made up of its people, or you're being obstinate in lieu of an argument.
Now you can keep this up for 20 more posts, and I guarantee your argument will get no better. It will be insult followed by self congratulation of how tough you are, followed by insult, etc. Haven't we enough 30 posts branches of that crap??
The measure of a man is not in the length of his profile-Anonymous
Sorry, as usual
February 28, 2009 - 23:29 ET by BlondeThe liberal totally lets it fly over his head.
"How did America become the most prosperous nation in the world,
How did that happen? That we became the most prosperous country in the world? Because people, and their ideas, were free to pursue excellence. Profitable endeavours.....wherein we all could grow an enterprise, hire others....become successful, and RICH (I know that's a dirty word for you liberals).
and why, pray tell, does the President of the United states want to destroy it?"
Well, punishing the "doers" would seem to accomplish THAT, now, wouldn't it? Like taxing the successful in our society at a punishing rate? Confiscating their wealth to subsidize those who can't get quite get out of bed on time every day in order to make enough of a living to make their mortgage payment? In other words, and to quote your great "saviour"....by "redistributing the wealth".
Now, we get on to the rest of Rush Limbaugh's speech, to wit:
"they do believe they have compassion, they do believe they care."
He was talking about LIBERALS...i.e., those like you who are totally whacked and wrapped around the axle about fairness. You all care, all right.....you care that unequal efforts don't equate to equal outcomes. Those of you who wish to level the playing field, because you and your ilk are too lazy to do what is necessary to get ahead.....no work necessary on your part. Your good pal Obama has just legitimized armed robbery....only he's given it the chop of the government.
Guess what? I, and my fellow "earners"....aren't going to do it....so you all may try to hold up the bank all you'd like....only guess what? We've cleaned out the vault and there's nothing left for the likes of you or your socialists wannabes.
Now you can keep this up for 20 more posts, and I guarantee your argument will get no better. It will be insult followed by self congratulation of how tough you are, followed by insult, etc. Haven't we enough 30 posts branches of that crap??
Oh yeah, I can keep it up, no problem.
My argument is just fine. I am a hard worker. I don't believe in equality of outcomes for "wishing and hoping".....no worries there.
So.....how hard are you willing to work, backward shawn?
I hope he fails, too.
So you're argument
February 28, 2009 - 23:42 ET by nwahsIs Rush's "they's" have subcategories. So Obama willfully wants to destroy the US, and the "they" that think they are doing good and think they have compassion, are just regular liberals with no power to do anything? If that was the case they would without a doubt be compassionate. If that subcategory of "they" has no power and is hoping for good they ( the powerless "they") are compassionate.
I don't think your argument is as fine as you think.
But I was wrong. Your argument did improve. That was much better than "You're a poopyhead."

Obama has said he wants to spread the wealth. Why do you refuse to believe your President? I certainly believe he meant what he said.
Bringing down America would certainly benefit some people in the short run, and assure his reelection before our children have a chance to speak up.
As I said before, I disagree with Limbaugh on this issue. I don't think Obama could possibly be as fiscally naive as he pretends.

February 28, 2009 - 23:16 ET by NL207I didn't get the impression that Limbaugh thinks Obama is ignorant of what he is doing.
