NYT Separates Obama Administration from 'The Government'

After eight years of blaming everything that came out of our nation's capitol on George W. Bush, the New York Times is suddenly separating the White House from the government.

Such was immediately apparent in the Times front page story Tuesday addressing the mounting pressure being exerted on Washington to come up with more bailout funds for companies and industries in financial trouble.

The following are the opening three paragraphs. As you read them, consider how much differently they would have looked if Bush was still president:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

The government faced mounting pressure on Monday to put billions more in some of the nation’s biggest banks, two of the biggest automakers and the biggest insurance company, despite the billions it has already committed to rescuing them.

The government’s boldest rescue to date, its $150 billion commitment for the insurance giant American International Group, is foundering. A.I.G. indicated on Monday it was now negotiating for tens of billions of dollars in additional assistance as losses have mounted.

Separately, the Obama administration confirmed it was in discussions to aid Citigroup, the recipient of $45 billion so far, that could raise the government’s stake in the banking company to as much as 40 percent.

Doesn't it seem a metaphysical certitude that if Bush was still president, the opening paragraph would have read, "President Bush faced mounting pressure on Monday to put billions more in some of the nation’s biggest banks, two of the biggest automakers and the biggest insurance company, despite the billions already committed to rescuing them?"

What's the likelihood that his name wouldn't have appeared until the third paragraph? And how about that marvelous qualifier in paragraph three "Separately"?

Separately? So, Obama is now SEPARATE from the rest of "government"?

Hmmm. When did the good folks at the Times take a civics lesson informing them that the United States does INDEED have three branches of government?

After all, for eight years they've been blaming EVERYTHING that comes out of Washington on the executive branch.

Mysteriously, that appears no longer the case, for Obama's name was only mentioned once in this piece.

I guess part of the Era of Obama will be "the government" being blamed for all the bad things so that the president can take credit for the good.

Imagine that.

It's four now

1) Executive (everyone but Obama); 2) Legislative, 3) Judicial and 4) the Church of Obama.

You got it !

Hey SickofLibs you have it exactaly. He's The One, the Emperor. I think the MSM is protecting their hefty investment of BS that they put into O and the O-Bots in the election.

Later they'll be defending him like Enron execs defended themselves.
He's the Emperor. You can't blame him for mistakes made by all the other "little people" in government.

I once heard the analogy that "getting the information that you need from the internet is like drinking from a fire hose using a straw".
I think that trying to find objective, unbiased and truly fair information from the MSM is like trying to find clean water in a septic tank. There may be a few clean drops but they are few, far between and overwhelmed by crap.

He's going to be needing a new 'Seal'

You can't go to Rome and avoid seeing the ancient nameplates and markings "SQPR" - Senatus Populusque Romanus, or the The Senate and Roman People. It's even on their manhole covers.

Get ready for OQPA - Obamus Populusque Americanus. Coming to a sewer cover near you.

4) the Church of

4) the Church of Obama.

Hey, that's Baracktology to you mister. Of course leaders of chapters of Baracktology are called Baracktologists.

Oh, yeah, WAY differently!

Oh, yeah, WAY differently! The word "government" in the first two paragraphs would have read "Bush administration," and instead of "separately," the third para would have opened, "Also."

But someone slipped. The third para lumps the money from "the Obama administration" with the money from "the government."

Heads will roll, I'm sure.

Separation

I think it has to do more with the way Obama is governing.

Yesterday Obama put Joe Biden in charge of governors and overseeing the stimulus package implementation.  I think we are going to see more of a separation between "Obama" and "government".  I think when things go awry, Obama will push the blame on whoever he put in charge.

AIG also

"Bush's controversial $159 billion bailout to campaign donor AIG ..." is how that would read!

The Messiah...

Can't dare connect the Messiah's name in the same context as failing policies. How unholy that would be! Bush was bashed for sole purpose of getting a communist elected by communist mindedpress. The editors are self proclaimed communist and some socialist. The press is trying very hard to bring the USA in line with the rest of the world. They want us to be the world's SS force.

The press also wants to go after the internet. Free speech is being walked on. A number of blogs and sites have already gone down. More will follow.

The sooner Obama really

The sooner Obama really does seperate himself from government, the better off we are all going to be.

Our clueless political leaders are about to drive us all over a cliff. The time to HITM is now-before we go over.

All failures belong to Congress

I expect that if and when the Porkulus Bill fails, that Obammy will rename it Congress's bill, and the liberal media will go right along. If there's anyone that the liberal media and Obammy consider 'under-the-bus' material, it's the comedy team of Harry and Nan.

In an election sense, this is perfect strategy however, as while Americans' opinion of Congress might go into the can, they will still vote the party or for their Congressman.

This is what happened in

This is what happened in Germany two. Hitler was separated from the terrible goings-on of his government so he still appeared as the Messiah to the Volk.

I think Alan Keyes put this

I think Alan Keyes put this whole thing into clear focus, "“Claiming that a bankrupt government can save a bankrupt banking system…this is insane and it has got to lead to the collapse of our economy”

The most important point of his message on Obama and the direction the Democrats in Congress are taking, the thought starts at the 3 minute mark, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqkMfToY9Pk

There's Zeus on Mount

There's Zeus on Mount Olympus (he has the Greek columns to prove it) and then there's the 'other' Gods...all Dems of course, then further down the line is ACORN.  Oh, and then come the mere mortals who mess everything up...Republicans, Conservatives, the Great Unwashed and the like.

(So who's Medusa?  Nancy or Michelle?)

One of the 24% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 89% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory.

Riverdancing

The spin doctors are tapdancing like Riverdance being played back at 10x speed.

I'm surprised their tap dance shoes haven't caught fire yet from the air and floor friction.  Of course, if they do, it will undoubtedly be blamed on Global Warming.

The MSM must insulate The One from any connection whatsoever to anything negative at all costs, while at the same time making sure he's seen to have personal involvement with anything that's positive and be given sole credit for that.  Good luck!!  The logic-pretzel factories are working 24x7 shifts to keep up.
