Disgraceful Obama Lovefest on Meet the Press -- 'But Wow!'

Americans expecting a serious discussion about the soon to be enacted stimulus plan certainly didn't find it on Sunday's "Meet the Press" which instead was sixty minutes of some of the most disgraceful Obama sycophancy since Chris Matthews bragged about getting a thrill up his leg when the Democrat presidential candidate spoke.

Virtually every time host David Gregory or any of his guests opened their mouths -- with the possible exception of the Wall Street Journal's Kim Strassel -- one could close one's eyes and envision the words emanating from a member of the Adminstration and/or the president himself.

Consider first what the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson said:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

In my opinion, you have to say that Obama is a winner this week because he got through an, a, a huge, complicated, almost $800 billion spending rescue bill in record time.  I mean, this doesn't happen in Washington.  And, and you know, sure, the beginning of an administration is the time when you really want to spend some political capital and, and, and, and those chips, but wow.

But wow?

My goodness...but wow. Is that what qualifies as objective journalism today when commenting about a piece of legislation...but wow?

Sadly, that was just the beginning, for Gregory was next:

Frank Rich in, in the Times this morning talks about the fact that, yeah, in Washington and in the echo chamber a lot of people were writing him off, and yet he maintained his popularity around the country.  Even though there was lagging support for the stimulus at points, when Obama was attached to it, it was still popular.  John Harwood also writes this in his piece in the Times:  "The bright spot for Mr. Obama is that the communications and social networking strengths he and his team demonstrated during the campaign may fit the task of preserving presidential initiative.  ...  `Leaders with projects and an electoral mandate keep people with them by mobilizing, educating, and persuading,' [Pollster Stan] Greenberg said.  `It has actually been a long time since we've had a president with that kind of momentum that has carried through to pass major elements of the reform agenda.' With enactment of the stimulus package, `Obama will now have done this' in less than a month, Mr. Greenberg added.

But wow, David! Nice job quoting three liberals to show some Obama-loving. I mean, even Wikipedia acknowledges Greenberg as a Democratic pollster. As for Rich and Harwood, excuse me?

Yet, the best was still to come when the National Journal's Ron Brownstein acted like Obama had sent him a Valentine's Day present:

Yeah, , I think it's really kind of silly to compare the victory of the week and the bumps of the week.  I mean, as Gene said, the magnitude of the--this bill was a presidency in a box.  He achieved more of his aims in this single legislation than many presidents will achieve in an entire term.  I mean, there is more new net public investment here on things the Democrats consider essential for long-term growth--like education, scientific research, alternative energy--than Bill Clinton was able to achieve in two terms.

He achieved more of his aims in this single legislation than many presidents will achieve in an entire term?

Excuse me, Ron, but if the aim is to get the economy going, won't we only know this has been achieved when the recovery comes? How can this be more than many presidents achieve in an entire term if it ends up failing?

In reality, the joy being expressed by these so-called journalists should make it quite clear that to them, stimulating the economy is secondary. Obama getting his way was the key.

Of course, no sixty minute Obama lovefest would be complete without a little Republican bashing. Check out this question Gregory posed to Obama senior adviser David Axelrod:

The opposition by Republicans; do you think this was principled opposition, or do you think this was a calculated effort on the part of the party to rebrand itself?

Gregory asked it again during the panel discussion:

Kim, do you--what do you think this GOP opposition was about? Do you think it was purely principled, or was there a calculation made at some point to say, "You know what, there is much to be gained here politically from being unified and opposing this president"?

Of course, there was no discussion during this program about whether the almost unanimous Democrat support for this bill "was purely principled" or a political calculation.

Furthermore, when Democrats bound together against former President George W. Bush's proposals, their motives were rarely suggested to be unprincipled political calculations by members of the news media.

Why should they? Democrats always vote on principle, don't they? Apparently so:

GREGORY:  Gene, you wrote something about what Republicans were up to this week that was pretty tough.  You wrote this, Republic on Tuesday: "Republicans are using this debate as a branding opportunity, positioning themselves as careful stewards of the public purse.  This is absurd, given their record when they were in charge.  It's also cynical.  They know that some kind of stimulus will get passed anyway.  If it works, they'll claim their principled intransigence made the plan better; if it doesn't, they'll say, `I told you so.'"

ROBINSON:  Yeah, I'm, I'm sticking with that.  I think, I think that's going to--I think that will happen.  And I do think they use it as a branding opportunity.  They used it to, to rally the Republican base not just on Capitol Hill, but, but in the country as well.  You know, that's a smaller base, both on Capitol Hill and out in the country.  And that's the essential problem.  By, by kind of going with the, you know, low tax, low spending ideology that the party has hewn to for, for decades now, you get the base. But, but that's a shrinking base and you don't win elections.

Hmmm. You don't win elections by promising to cut taxes? Really? Well, Gene, why did presidential candidate Obama PROMISE TO CUT THE TAXES of 95 percent of Americans...hmmm? And, do you think he would have won if he campaigned on RAISING everyone's taxes...hmmm?

Would Clinton have won in 1993, Gene, if he campaigned on raising taxes rather than promising to cut those of the middle class...hmmm?

In fact, Gene, every president since Reagan campaigned on cutting taxes INCLUDING Obama. So, how do you declare this to be a losing strategy?

Of course, despite the historical inaccuracy Brownstein agreed with Robinson's untenable position:

You know, you don't even have to look back to make the point that Gene is making.  During the Senate debate, 36 of the Senate Republicans voted for an alternative that would have cut taxes over the next decade by 2.5 trillion, reduced the top marginal rate to 25 percent.  For John McCain to talk about--who voted for that alternative of a $2.5 trillion tax cut over the next decade--to talk about generational theft, I mean, pot, meet kettle.  I mean, essentially the best argument that Obama--one of the best arguments, if not the best argument that Obama has in this debate at this point is that Republicans by and large are offering a continuation of the policies of President Bush.  It is a tax cut-centered vision of how you revitalize the economy.  And the reality is, I mean, if you want--I, I think if the Republicans want to bring a referendum to the country on whether to continue in the direction we have been in the last eight years, you know, we kind of had that election in 2008.  And in many ways, I think that is the weakest position that they are offering.  They are essentially saying to continue the same economic strategy as Obama says.

But wow! Wouldn't it just be awful to cut taxes by $2.5 trillion over the next ten years? After all, cutting taxes helped stimulate the economy under Presidents Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton (once he finally caved to Congressional Republican pressure in 1997), and Bush.

Exactly which President has been successful at growing the economy with a radical increase in federal spending, Ron...hmmm?

Yet, the best example of how these so-called journalists appeared to be nothing more than Administration spokespersons came with Gregory's follow-up:

Right.  Well, and, and, and, Kim, David Axelrod just said that Republicans are hypocrites for now saying--standing up and saying we should be stewards of, of our--not just the economy, but of our spending, and that we should be deficit hawks.

But wow!

A pox on them all

They are a disgrace.

And Democrats never wanted to be "stewards of spending"  so they are allowed to spend as much as they want and can't be called hypocrites?

In fact, Gene, every president since Reagan campaigned on cutting taxes INCLUDING Obama.

Campaigning is one thing; which Presidents actually delivered the cuts?

Eugene Robinson....isn't he the WaPo buddy of Colbert King, who said it's ridiculous to say that Ronald Reagan had more substance than Obama?????

Birds of a feather.....

I tried, I really did to

I tried, I really did to watch this love-fest earlier today...could not do it.

I saw the panel, knew what to expect...Kim was the only one with a brain on the panel...I guess this is what they insist on calling a bi-partisan panel...eh?

Pathetic....as usual.

It's all I can do to get through the bits here on NB most of the time lately.

mb...

You are not alone....whatsoever.

I just cannot listen to this all anymore...just cannot do it, the round-table with the first panel of guests on This Week, had Schumer filibustering all the time, as usual for the most part from what I could see, King and Graham had very little input compared to Schumer and Waters.

I cannot take it anymore like I used to...maybe as time goes on, I will be able to, don't know, looking doubtful though.

It's all I can do to get

It's all I can do to get through the bits here on NB most of the time lately.

Exactly. I am also reluctant to open up a lot of NB pages, just looking at the title and scanning a few of the opening words puts me in fits of dispair.

Thanks - I have been feeling so all alone drowning

in despair - even visiting NB can't make it go away.  Somehow we must still 'soldier on' and stay strong, but many days it is hard to do.  I have never felt so 'used and abused' in my life.  It is quite apparent our elected officials will continue to ignore the wishes of their constituents and do what they darn well please, regardless of the future of America.  A pox upon the houses of Snowe, Collins and Specter!

I watched a portion of this

I watched a portion of this this morning, when Axelrod was on.  And unlike many Americans, including David Gregory (or he just chose to let it go), I heard this (see bolded text)........

MR. GREGORY: So the lack of bipartisanship in this bill, not a major concern to the president?

MR. AXELROD: Our concern--look, first of all, bipartisanship isn't just measured by the number of votes you get. It's measured by the dialogue you have. He, he meant--he, he...

MR. GREGORY: You were the ones who said you wanted 80 votes in the Senate, though.

MR. AXELROD: I wanted 100 votes, David, but I don't think that that is the measure. The measure is do you move it forward and do you have productive conversations? President met with members of--Republican members of Congress. He went to both caucuses. Our staff met with most members, or many members of the Republican caucus. And, and that is a healthy thing. But old habits die hard, we understand that. We're going to keep on dealing with both parties on Capitol Hill and trying to set a standard of civility that we think ultimately will pay off.

http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2009/02/david_axelrod_tells_nbcs_meet.html

*****

The measure of bipartisanship is moving a bill forward?  Votes aren't the measure.  Can anyone of a logical thinking mind comprehend that nonsense?  If moving a bill forward is bipartisanship, then why are they concerned with Republican support?  They have the numbers to move bills forward by themselves........hmmm, by themselves, which, as Axelrod believes, is bipartisanship.

Maybe he thinks bipartisanship is agreement between Democrats in House AND Democrats in Senate.

Well, bipartisanship has

Well, bipartisanship has now been redefined.

It means there was a conversation.

But wow!!  LOL

I didn't think it was physically possible, but this both sucks and blows. -Bart Simpson

Yes, we had a conversation

Yes, we had a conversation and it went something like this......

Republican Member:  "I think part of what we should do is this, then that."

Democrat Member:  "You're a dumbarse bringing up stupid crap like that."

Bipartisanship!!

http://www.delawareonline.com/blogs/uploaded_images/crank_yankers_yay-737929.jpg

Of course it's not measured

Of course it's not measured by votes....why?  Because the facts are that they didn't get much from Republicans in the way of votes.  But, since they said they would have, and wanted to have, bipartisanship, they must under any circumstance, claim bipartisanship and figure up a way to explain that it did happen when it didn't.

Reminds me of the Iraqi Information Minister coming on TV in 2003, early in Iraqi Freedom, constantly telling the world how Saddam's army was devastating the Americans.  This is exactly what the Obama admin is doing.

Steamy liberal talk...

Did anyone notice the if the table seemed to levitate as those two exchanged their verbal adorations for The One? Talk about having your "O" faces on.

Noel.. when (if) the recovery comes..

...won't we only know this has been achieved when the recovery comes?

Well, at some point and time there will be some recovery. Will it be short-lived? Shallow? Long? Meaningful? Time will tell. What Geitner does next may be the determining factor...or not?

One truth strikes me, however; whatever comes - it will be difficult to determine if it had much ado about anything regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

(;~> gary

Eventually the economy will

Eventually the economy will recover.  How bad will it get before the upward crawl begins, we don't know.  How long it will take to recover, we don't know.  But we do know that they'll take credit for it when it does recover, citing this bill as a major reason, regardless of any fact that may show that recovery isn't because of the bill, it's IN SPITE OF the bill.

Just like Global warming,

Just like Global warming, er, climate change. Temperature goes up -- there's a cause. Temperature goes down -- the same cause. It's all a matter of seizing the media and drowning out all other voices.

This unashamed group of leftists, promoting unrestrained liberalism will hopefully be avaliable to report on this failed experiment when it all comes crashing down.

Wow, what an achievment that the bill was passed, with large Democrat majorities in both houses and usual suspect, spineless RINO's, was there was any doubt it would pass?

A victory for Obama, a loss for America.

I make it a point on

I make it a point on Sunday's to be as far across the dial from this show as possible. It is nothing more than a DNC echo-chamber and Dear Leader schmoozefest.

Is this the type of biased,

Is this the type of biased, one-sided talk show the Dims are complaining about when they say "Bring back the fairness doctrine so that both sides can be heard"? Just wondering.

I couldn't wait for them to "bring back the civility", so forgive my crudeness.

That's a perfect example ....

of how little respect NBC has for their audience and the public in general. The people of this country went absolutely ballistic trying to stop that bill and NBC is trying to convince the hillbilly rubes of how lucky we are that it went through.Nobody who isn't a Democrat in Congress or in the media have anything good to say about it and Gregory and his little gaggle of Obama teeny boppers are trying to convince us otherwise.

Shameful.Gregory is just another Obama shill getting in on the morning conference call with Rahm.

Because with a name like Obama... you know it has to be good.

So right you are...the constituents were approx. 100-1 against this bill, yet they are still insisting the Porkulus is what we were waiting for.

Disgusting...all of the talking heads for the most part...the dems in congress go without saying...along with the three RINOs...who hold all the power for the time being...which they love.

Speaking of Obama lovefests, anyone see opening of SNL

Apparently, SNL has decided to go ahead and continue to mock Republicans, even though they're not in power anymore by any stretch of the imagination.  The excuse comedians always offer for the hideously lopsided targeting of conservatives is "Well, they're the party in power.  We always pick on the party in power."  Really?

The skit portrayed a room full of GOP senators proposing outlandish ways to bring Obama and Obama's kids down (e.g., "Is it too early to try to impeach Obama?".  ha ha ha. This after YEARS of Dems kicking and crying hysterically for Bush's impeachment).

The good news is that the piece completely bombed.  Watch here (you're forced to watch a condom commercial first):

Almost zero audience response. In comedy, it helps if things are grounded in reality.  This bit was STRAINED, to put it mildly, and went on forever.

kren...

This is a perfect example of why I quit watching this show years ago...glad you posted this.

Not only the mean old repubs going after the girls, they had to make sure and include the Rush/Hannity conservative talkers.

It wasn't one bit funny...not in the least.

You are correct really weak.

Remember the source.

"Party in power."  Yea, I

"Party in power."  Yea, I have a liberal (claims he's libertarian, yea, right) at work, who always comes over with something Republicans are doing that he thinks is wrong, dumb, etc.  In the past I've asked several times, why always Republicans if you're really a backer of neither party?  Answer:  They're the party in power.

So 2006 rolled around, Congress was taken over by Dems.  He and I got into a discussion that January after the election, and I mentioned "there is something I'm waiting for you to do, and when you do it, I'll let you know, but I'm not going to tell you until you finally do it."  Well he got perturbed not knowing what it was I was referring to.  I was referring to his "party in power" crap and if he would begin to bring some Democrat things to talk about that he didn't like.  Didn't happen.  Still hasn't happened.  And I still haven't sprung on him what I was talking about.  In a few months I will, and will slam his "I'm a libertarian" BS in the process.  When I reveal it, it won't be just say it and leave it alone, nope, I'm gonna tell him he flat out lied and is full of BS.

Of course he won't remember the episode 2 years ago.

Greg, you mean your friend

Greg, you mean your friend hasn't brought up the Censorship ("Fairness") Doctrine being pushed by democraps now? Some libertarian he is.

Ohhhhhh, well, that topic

Ohhhhhh, well, that topic has come up in the past, well before this Congress........and guess what?  He's for it.  Libertarian, my arse.  Oh yea, he likes Air America talkers, listens to Rush when he goes out to lunch, but always only has negative things to say about anything Rush is talking about.  Watches O'Reilly, but always brings up something he feels O'Reilly said or did that was stupid or hypoctritical.  And of course, only picks out certain things, then overblows them, which I find out later when I either hear it or read the context of it.  Or many times I saw O'Reilly and know exactly what he's talking about.  Sometimes I agree, I'm not beholden to any set of people.  But the fact that he always brings over something negative about anyone with an inkling of conservatism says volumes.

Ah yes, he's a solid libertarian.  And only rips Republicans because the "are the party in power."  Well since now they ain't, I'm prepping to rip his arse a new one on that BS statement.

No mention of real losers

Robinson -- "In my opinion, you have to say that Obama is a winner this week...."

And how about the losers that will be paying this debt for decades to come?  It is astounding to think that several generations of all American children yet to be born are already losers.

No problem for Robinson and his peers.  As long as the one is a winner this week.

But wow indeed.

Noel, Great piece. There

Noel,

Great piece. There are so many claims these idiots are making that I would love to pick apart but you did a bang up job as usual.

The one thing I would like to point out these elitists failed to is that all but 3 Republicans didn't sign it because IT'S A SPENDING BILL THAT WON'T STIMULATE ANYTHING BUT OBAMA'S EGO! That's called standing up for your principals, something Democrats, Liberals and Leftists don't have!

I watched this crap

  I can tell you one

I can tell you one thing, the person in the street is a little confused.  After years of the media bashing Bush for running 'big' deficits because he was conducting a war while cutting taxes.  Now the media and the democrats are celebrating because the government is going to spend an unfathomable amount of money while cutting taxes.

Proof positive that

Proof positive that liberalism is a mental disorder. It's the only plausible explanation.

You got that right

I will add though a mental disorder with a total leftist agenda for them to control all (nationalize)...and they are getting their way, big-time.

Poor Chuck Todd is starting to feel left out

After being a stealth member of the Obama campaign, twisting every story so that it benefitted "The One" during the election, Chuck Todd is starting to feel like a jilted lover:

 From NBC's Chuck Todd
Obviously, I'm one of the newbies here in the White House press corps, so maybe I'm unfamiliar with the ways of how this place works. I have to say, nothing is more frustrating than covering an actual event here at the White House if you at all believe in anything remotely having to do with the First Amendment.

MTP is dead to me now...

I used to actually enjoy watching this show, but once Obama got the nomination, it's been non-stop Obama worship.  Once this "stimulus" package gets signed, any little improvement in the economy, no matter how miniscule, will be instantly attributed to the wonderful leadership of The One.  In fact, those of us who have jobs in six months will have The One to thank for "saving" them.  Instead of just creating jobs, he usually says creating or saving, so that will be his "out" for not creating many jobs.  Obama:  "Hey, so you do still have a job?"  Private sector worker: "Yes."  Obama:  "Your welcome."

It saddens me that so many

It saddens me that so many people in this country actually believe that this hideous, freedom-destroying bill was ever intended to stimulate the economy in the first place.

-Dave

Our clueless political leaders are about to drive us all over a cliff. The time to HITM is now-before we go over.

Notice how words get used

Not enough people actually care what the government does.  The goverment is so far away from everyday people and all the gadgets and "stuff" we are into as Americans, our activities, etc, that we don't care what they do, we just go along.  And by "we" I don't mean we here, I mean "we," in general, Americans.  People don't care about politics, can't tell you jack about candidates, but they run the polls in droves to vote for a president.  Many never vote for anything else, and don't care, and don't know anything about our system of government.

Notice how words get used today, and people fall in line.  "Stimulus" bill is not, and is full of all kinds of crap.

"Employee Free Choice Act" opens the door for the exact opposite to happen, Forced Choice.

Axelrod today saying the measure of "bi-partisanship" in Congress isn't votes but it's that the bill "moved forward" which in and of itself has zero to do with bi-partisanship.

"Tax credit" is used so that they can give your and my money to people who pay no taxes.

"Tax cut" is still used even though many receiving it don't pay taxes.

Stupid liberals.

GregE

Yeah, this is truly the age of the dumbMasses.

Sad, too, given the wealth of historical onformation that is available.

I swear, I am beginning to wonder if the internet has had something to do with it, other than just government running the schools.

The Slobbering love affair

The Slobbering love affair that the Degenerate Media has with Obama and now his corrupt administration continues, and will continue no matter how many outrageous scandals and policy disasters occur during the Big Zero’s administration.

As Rush Limbaugh put it, the media simply cannot afford to let Obama fail.  Why?  The Degenerate Media is married to the Obama Administration.  The sexual innuendos about this, which on the surface sound outrageously silly, are actually psychologically genuinely significant.

Chris Mathews, in his perverted way, is the most honest of all the Degenerate Media.

The Degenerate Media understands that if Obama fails, they fail.  Like a blind lover, however, the Degenerate Media does not even consider that, if they fail, Obama fails.

I saw the interview with Schock this morning...he was great!

Of course we won't hear much about this...Air-Force One, O and all included to try to sway his vote.

Like I said to my husband this morning before Schock spoke, I said, you watch, he is going to say he listened to HIS CONSTITUENTS...and that is just what he did.

I love the young man, hope he doesn't change...he's in Illinois to-boot.

Once upon a time...

Are there any Sunday shows that will actually look at the Democrats and their legislation?  With the exception of Fox News, it seems the other networks are going zombie like reportage on Obama and the Democrats.

We have NBC, with thrill up the leg commenters at MSNBC, now we have, what used to be a fairly dependable show, in Meet The Press, that becomes a liberal love fest on the spending bill.

ABC, has George (Yes I am in the loop) Stephanopolis who is now in the, is it truth or is it from Rahm?  I don't believe I can watch any more and listen to him, without asking that question.

CNN and CBS have become cartoons, after their coverage of the last election.  So, when it comes to the MSM, who do you trust?  I trust Fox News but want to watch someone else to balance it all out.  The other networks have proven themselves to be unreliable and untrustworthy.  The American Public deserves better from their "free" press.

Election 2008-God's way of showing us that elections count.

I am amzed every single time

I am amzed every single time I log on here when people say, Oh, I watched that, or I am not going to watch this show anymore, or read that book, or such and such magazine. I just want to know how you all do it. I have such a low threshold for all movies, tv shows, news programs, magazines, etc. I would shoot the tv, daily. I really, really would be locked in the funny farm after a day or two of actual viewing, being here is all I can manage, as it is! I cannot even begin to imagine having to work with people like this. LOL.

Good evening butler

I quit watching TV for the very reasons you state. I'm going to hook it up soon though so I can watch my old movies on DVDs.

I can't take all of that stuff. I have a house full of tvs, at least 7, and I never turn them on, unless I want to see some news right that minute. I also will watch the occasional movie, with my hubby, or some show on History or Discovery. He has to have a tv on 24/7, but I wear head phones all day to drown it out. I am either working, (on the phone), on the net, or reading a book. It is much, much easier. What are your top 5 favorite old movies? Have you ever been to the Big Hollywood site at Breitbart.com? They feature different info on old movies that have a good message. The postings are very good, the comments, not to the standard here. Lots of (conservative) Hollywood folks blog there, it is interesting.

I do miss Discovery, History, RFD and the old movies. I also miss Jimmy Neutron. Spongebob, Bugs and Porky. My grandson introduced me to them. I already knew Bugs and Porky though. When my son and his family moved back into their home I cancelled my satellite.

My grandkids are still too little to watch anything fun and enjoy it. My kids loved Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. Those were pretty cute. I was born in 66, so I was a big Scooby Doo, Road Runner fan. But, I don't think you are missing much else on the tube. Except maybe a satellite bill. LOL

Animaniacs

We loved those when my older kids were young.  And now we have every episode on DVD but the younger kids don't appreciate them the same way.  My older daughter can still sing all the states and their capitols and all the countries (from then, they have changed some) and she learned it from Animaniacs. (She is very impressive at parties)

Here's what's disgraceful...

What is disgraceful is John Boehmer lying through his teeth as he announced to reporters last week that he had presented an alternative stimulus package to President Obama that would have created twice as many jobs and cost half as much. This plan involved yet another $350 billion giveaway to corporate executives, just like Bush/Paulson did four months ago. Just like the tax rebate checks that were sent out last year that were supposed to "boost" the economy. Just like the tax cut two years that had no detectable impact on the economy. All tax cuts do is add to the national debt, and they only amount to a few dollars extra per paycheck. Not enough to pull us out of this vertical nose-dive, much less keep us from turning into a Third World country. More importantly, a tax cut would do nothing for the millions of people who are out of work and already collecting unemployment. The Republican Party knew that the stimulus bill was going to pass, with or without its votes, so the RNC decided to vote against the bill en masse in order to preserve a campaign slogan for the next election. The thing is, if you heard all those people in red states cheering when they found out that the stimulus bill passed, you know that those states are turning bluer by the minute. You can bet that the governors of those states are already going blue. Voters are not going to forget the way people like Boehmer, McConnell and McCain chose to protect their political party rather than the people who voted them into office.  There are only a handful of blogs like this one where a few ideological fossils are still angry about the outcome of the last election. These are people who share Phil Graham's philosophy, that corporations will always do what's right for America if they can just get those tax breaks and incentives. Right. Just like Enron and the entire banking industry. It sounds like many of you people need to emerge from your basements once in a while and read other blogs. Get an opposing view and read what most of the country thinks about the way your political heroes are handling the economic crisis. If you continue to just listen to each other, you'll have no one else to blame when the Republican Party evaporates in the next election. How's it feel to be the "Party of No" and puppet of a radio talkshow personality?

Troll Alert

Your post is total bullsh:t for any number of reasons that have already been discussed. Go back to you Kossack masters for some new talking points.

How's it feel for you to be in the party of Marxists?

Troll alert noted... in answer to this, ahem, real informed person, we have seen other points of view and other systems and they pale to what we have in America... it's tough to meet competition for you I know, but it has resulted in the highest standard of living the world has ever seen.  Sure, we're losing that now and it will get worse thanks to other ideas that are old ideas and ideas that do not work as well as our original idea--found in the Constitution of the United States.

But that doesn't matter to you.  All that matters to you is to get free meds, isn't that it?

Liberalism is a convenient lie.

The definition of a troll...

These replies are typical. Insults and hostility. Anybody who has a differing opinion is a "troll". You refuse to consider any opposing view, while demonizing more than half the country. The party of "Marxists"? Clever, but I'm not part of any party. I just happen to believe that Americans are more important than the Republican Party. I know that's heresy around here.  Again, while you wallow in your hatred, your party is crumbling.

Even though you are trying to give the appearance of being reasonable...you just can't help but give yourself away.

The implication of your own post is that you are against the republican party, ergo sum, you are a democrat....and have all of the talking points down as well.

We know you well, you nanny staters...the fact that you argue so vociferously for the porkulus and against tax cuts pegs you...more easily than nailing jello to wall.

So, enjoy that troll cloak.

Thanks for vindicating my comments.

Hey, JR, your precious democrats just stole your children's...

...and their children's economic futures, and used them to pay off their constituents.

And if you really believe that this bill, or government in general, has the ability to actually create jobs, I have to ask, off of the back of exactly which matchbook did you receive your alleged economics education?

Our clueless political leaders are about to drive us all over a cliff. The time to HITM is now-before we go over.

JR-SEVERAL QUICK QUESTIONS, IF I MAY

THE USA IS ECONOMY DRIVEN BY THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY. EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY OF THE USA HAS CARS AND LIGHT TRUCKS. YET WE DO NOT DRILL FOR OIL OR NATURAL GAS-BUT SOME INSIST WE GET OFF DEPEDANCY OF FORIEGN OIL. WE HAVE COAL/NATURAL GAS AND OIL TO SUSTAIN THE USA FOR 240 YEARS. HOWEVER ECOZEALOTS VILLANIZE THAT DRILLING. WHY???

TAX CUTS DO WORK. HOWEVER THE LEFT WANTS TO CONTROL HOW AND WHERE YOU SPEND. PLACE ON HOLIDAY OF PAYROLL AND CORP TAXES FOR 60 DAYS. THAT WILL SHOW HOW MUCH TRACTION  AND CONTINUE IF IT WORKS. LETTING THE GOVERNHMENT HANDLE THE CASH. JR-SOCIAL SECIRTY WAS IN A LOCKED BOX AND THE STOLE OUR MONEY. WHY?

HOW COULD YOU VOTE ON SOMETHING YOU HAVE NOT READ.? WHY? PERHAPS ON THE 539 PAGE THERE IS A DECREE, THAT ALL JR'S ARE BEHEADED. AND YOU VOTED YES TO THAT/why??

our new president is a folloower of Saul Alinksy-a marxist. and that is where we are headed. i for one will not qualify for any of these new stimuli programs-why not-i have worked hard since 1965. i have always had a job-sometimes two. and nothing for ME. why?
