Did you know that Barack Obama is our first truly American president?
You didn't?
Well, according to Emmy Award winning commentator John Ridley he is.
The following insulting segment was aired January 22 on Los Angeles's PBS station KCET (video embedded below the fold, h/t Hot Air via NB reader Thomas Stewart):
Every president to hold office has espoused some version of Americanism; the truths that we hold self-evident, even when those truths are not always in evidence. But for all their grand rhetoric and mostly good deeds, none was able to seal the deal on the trifecta of equality, plurality and socioeconomic ascendancy. Obama has. Obama is the more perfect union. He is a house united. Obama is the New Generation and the hot light of a dawn that goes way beyond clever phraseology of "Morning in America."
Quite simply, quite plainly, just by virtue of his being, Obama is America, and the first true American to lead our nation.
Wow. I guess the previous 43 weren't really Americans.
Who'd a thunk it?

Or Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Reagan, etc. I'm sure what the esteemed commentator meant was obama is the first truly -black- American President. But, alas, he's not even truly black. He does get marks for having the best P.R. team. Other than that, he's not worth much else. I have that entire series on DVD too. Schultz ruled, people saw him as stupid because he was easily bribed by strudel, but I think it was more of his loyalty to pre-Nazi germany (remember he turned out to be the son of an influential family) and his refusal to see Hogan's crew as 'the Enemy' that allowed his constant distraction. He was also had a family for whose safety he was concerned.
When's the last time anyone made a sitcom with any comparable depth?
The special features are excellent, including the interview with "Colonel Klink" where they ask him about the monacle that was lost after the series was completed...and present him with an exact replica commissioned by the actors for him later.

January 27, 2009 - 10:37 ET by thebutlerdiditThey need to get their liberal stories straight. The libs wanted to fry Bush's bacon over the fact he worked for a company and sold his stocks, IN ORDER TO BUY THE BASEBALL TEAM, and then the stock price went down shortly after.(They tried to say he was insider-trading). I didn't matter that if Bush would have held on to it, it doubled in value, a few months later. It just sounds cute now to say, Daddy Bush bought him a team. But he went too far with the smack at the "Morning in America" comment. Reagan bashing? He wants to go there? I would love to see this racist jerkwad face-to-face. I also want to know when and why Obama's mom was on food stamps. When he was small, and they lived with his grand parents? Or when she was in India? Watch the YouTube Video on Stanley Ann Dunham
January 27, 2009 - 19:10 ET by JillCWThere's a few good ones, especially the one that documents that her parents were hard-core Marxist/Atheists and raised their daughter accordingly. They wanted a son and when she was born named her Stanley Ann. When they finally had a son, they named him Stanley, too. Sheesh. Anyway, they wound up in Washington state and sent her to a Marxist public high school (the way they all are now) where she was indoctrinated into a bitter, hate-filled woman who hung out with blacks to get back at America. Lest you think they were poor, guess again. The videos show a comfortable lifestyle. Further, she was in Indonesia working for that bastion of the NWO, The Ford Foundation. That's where she met the senior Mr. Geithner (father of the tax fraud, newly appointed Secy. of Treasury). So, the O knew the guy from way back when both of their parents worked for the Ford Foundation aka The New World Order. And you're suprised that some see him as the all-American, first truly American president. Sheesh, they've worked for decades for this moment to arrive.
If you really want to know how truly American this guy is, watch the video series at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDe50Phgl6g. His code name for the Secret Service is RENEGADE. Look up the definition or watch the video. Spooky stuff.

January 27, 2009 - 11:04 ET by JillCWWell, here's what I told PBS (Public Baloney Channel):
"I was shocked to hear John Ridley's comment that Obama is the first truly American president. It's not just insulting, it is outrageous.
"What makes him so? The fact that he was born in Kenya or the color of his skin? Is that what negates all other presidents of the US? If that's the case, lets add a few more pigeonholes to define the office. How about a black-white-Asian-native American (who came over the Bering Strait), pedophile, homosexual, or lesbian with learning disabilities, autism, and the need for a wheelchair due to paralysis? That's how stupid and insulting Mr. Ridley's comment was.
"To quote Bernie Goldberg, we don't have a black president. There's no such job in our government. We had an opening for a new president. The guy who got the job, albeit while spitting at our Constitution regarding his place of birth, happens to be 1/2 black, 1/2 white, 1/2 Muslim, 1/2 Christianized to attract voters, and full of nothing.
If you think you've dumbed us all down, you're wrong."
BTW, most of the media's antics are geared to get us all POed. Ergo, I recommend that we laugh at their machinations as much as possible because, in the end, they won't like what God does with them.
