MSNBC's Shuster Called 'A Joke' For His Anti-Sarah Palin Bias

Documentarian John Ziegler Friday called MSNBC's David Shuster "a joke" and "an alleged newsperson" for his anti-Sarah Palin bias.

Appearing on MSNBC to discuss video clips of an interview that he did with the Alaska governor Monday, Ziegler got into a rather contentious exchange with Shuster claiming "this network played an enormous role" in the character assassination of Palin during last year's presidential campaign, and definitively stated "MSNBC is clearly the pet network of Barack Obama."

Shuster followed this up by falsely claiming (video embedded below the fold, h/t TVNewser):

Well John, even in your documentary, at least the clips that you've released, she still can't answer, at least it takes her several opportunities, she still really can't explain what she reads.

That was clearly all Ziegler could stand:

David, that's ridiculous, you didn't watch the clip apparently, she clearly states what it is she reads...You're a joke. You are a joke. Did you not watch the clip? Did you not watch the clip? This is clearly an agenda by MSNBC which you started a year ago

Well, let's see who's right. Forward to 3:55 of the following video:

SARAH PALIN: Of course, I read newspapers, I read publications. I spend a lot of time of course reading our local papers and the highly-circulated publications in Alaska, because that's my job is to know the business of Alaska and our communities. But also USA Today, yes. And New York Times.

Hmmm. Seems like she did answer that, didn't she, David?

Readers are also encouraged to forward to 3:30 of the first embedded video when Ziegler says:

So, is that your opinion, David? Is that your opinion, David, as an alleged newsperson? As an alleged newsperson, is that your opinion that she was unprepared to be vice president of the United States? See, that sounds very objective, David...I feel that this is O.J. Simpson interviewing the cops about the murders. I'm the cop, and you're O.J. Simpson here...You've clearly seen this through the prejudiced eye of MSNBC, which has had an agenda since the beginning of the campaign, pro Obama, against Palin, it continues today. And it's very obvious to everybody you're a joke

Well, almost everybody.

All Republicans and

All Republicans and Conservatives need to go on the offensive against these idiots.  Call them out for what they are and DO NOT let up.

OMG NS!

Who is John Zeigler and why haven't we seen more of him?

I think he needs to pair up with Ann Coulter....the two of them on one panel would make every liberal news weenie's head explode!

I loved that video...at 3:38 in he calls Shuster an "alleged newsperson" twice....then goes on to ask whether the stupid question is Shuster's opinion...and baits Shuster into the comeback of "it's everyone's opinion".   Then laughs at Shuster.

He used a great tactic I've not seen used against the unuseful idiots before as well....repeat what they say several times and then laugh at the stupidity.  Shuster could barely speak.  Great stuff.

Need more Zeigler!!!!!

JJ

JJ,

Yeah, he's cool. Love it!

Tim Tebow did it again last night. Took the whole team on his shoulders! Gotta love it!  ns

Thanks, NS

Who is John Zeigler?

This is from his bio on the site:

In 2006, John was given national credit for "breaking" the John Kerry "Stuck in Iraq" story that ended his 2008 Presidential hopes.

My kind of guy....you should contact him and give him an official invite to join us here.

<edit> and not to derail your thread....but was that game exciting enough for you?

Where Has This Guy Been?

Great link, Blonde.  It's going in my favorites.  I don't even remember seeing him on FNC, but I don't watch enough for that to mean anything.

BTW, have you seen this:  Why Soros wants Norm Coleman out of the Senate, by Ed Lasky.  Turns out Soros has it in for Coleman due to Coleman's role in investigating the Oil for U.N. bigwigs program.  Good, well documented read.

B - there is no one in the msm with the equipment

to take on both John and Ann at the same time - there would be a big pool of commentator 'goo' before the commercial break!

A PROUD member of the Oogedy Boogedy branch of the GOP!

It would get messy....

But I'd volunteer to help clean up the mess.

I have this picture in my mind's eye of Chrissy, Olbie, Maddow, Mika, Shuster, Rather, oh the list goes on and on, with their heads just exploding.

And John & Ann doing a high five, and putting their fake pistols (cocked index fingers) back in the holster.  Fade to Rush clapping, and Harry Reid holding his head trying to keep his brains in.

After barfing at the

After barfing at the articles on the Obamas it is nice to see a report that brings up good points and makes you laugh too.

Blonde, I first heard

Blonde,

I first heard John Ziegler in 2003 when he joined KFI in Los Angeles.  He had a talk show where he claimed to be "more Libertarian than Conservative, more Conservative than Liberal and more cynical and skeptical than either one".  They used to have him on from 10pm-1am...which was good because he bumped the Art Bell/George Norrie fruitcakes to graveyard.  Then they moved Phil Hendrie (the guy who used to do fake interviews with himself as assorted characters) to a smaller station and Ziegler was placed in the 7-10 slot...which was good because he had a decent lead-in show and he was on during late drive time.  Unfortunately, that meant the Coast-to-Coast spacemen were back in the 10pm thru graveyard shift.

Ziegler's a very sharp guy, but has had his troubles staying employed by radio stations.  He was at a station in Louisville and was fired after a storm brewed over something he said on the air about an ex-girlfriend...she sued him, he clobbered her in court.  He remains close friends with a liberal kook named John Yarmuth, a Congressman from Kentucky...apparently Yarmuth was employed by the same station and was the sole employee who supported Ziegler in the wake of the controversy.  Ziegler joined KFI and was doing very well in the ratings (while there, he became famous for being the first one to play the John Kerry "stuck in Iraq" clip) until he crossed one of the hosts of his lead-in show.  John Kobylt, who co-hosts the flagship John and Ken Show was carrying on about the Iraq War one afternoon, and Ziegler told him in a later segment that Kobylt had his head up his a** about the war...Kobylt had an on-air meltdown, and Ziegler was effectively banished to a satellite studio until his contract expired.  He's a smart guy, and will hopefully succeed in this venture.  He definitely has a lot of passion, and, as we just saw, a lot of Moxy...even if he is wrong on the Ramos/Compean matter.

thanks, fitz

Between what you told me, and what I read on his site (he was very up front about being fired several times) he seems like a pretty good guy.

Who knows why he'd take the wrong side on the Ramos/Compean matter.

I never listen to local talk radio, I wouldn't have a clue...so thanks again.  This guy was great on the video, his interview w/Palin was pretty astute, and it sounds like he should be here on NB, if only to prepare for his latest film.

Damn, I hate being at work!

I can't watch Youtube here. But I'm glad to see Ziegler taking it to these clowns. This has to be the modus operandi of every conservative and Republican when speaking with the media.

Especially concering the subject of Palin. Call them out on their double standard on the issue of experience or lack thereof. They never questioned Obama and he was at the top of his ticket. And on the issue of how she was treated, just cite the Caroline Kennedy example. The media has no problem with her lack of experience, inarticulate and incoherent answers, or evading reporters.

This is an ideological war. And this soft, nice guy approach has failed miserably for 8 years. It killed any chance McCain had at winning the election. Don't lose your temper, but don't sit there and let them spout their DNC talking points either.

and, off topic, Rush just said the Republican meeting

ended with a 'kumbaya' moment - Republicans must be MORE MODERATE!

Hello....John McCain PROVED just how well that one works!

We need more CONSERVATIVE leaders - I am sooooo upset that Boehner and McConnell are still in their positions...we need CHANGE - and not the hope and change of Obama!

A PROUD member of the Oogedy Boogedy branch of the GOP!

Concur.  In the last

Concur.  In the last election we had a liberal democrat (Obama) running against a more moderate democrat (McCain) for the presidency.

Why would ANYONE vote for the waterdown version when the authentic is provided?

I watched the entire preview video and Sarah Palin

came across very well!

Indeed she did respond to her reading material question.  And I agreed with her assessment of Katie Couric's question in that regard - along the line that 'oh, what do you hicks up in the north country read?'  Katie's question came across just as 'put-downish' as Charles Gibson's looking down his nose and wiggling his foot!  They absolutely believe they are 'above' the regular person...and guess what, it is our inside joke because we know differently!

I thank Mr. Ziegler for saying ON AIR what so many of us out here in conservative land say in our living rooms every time we click past the channel and hear such pretentious statements from the msm!

A PROUD member of the Oogedy Boogedy branch of the GOP!

I started wondering

If someone asked me what I read, I bet I would hesitate. Well, my local AZ papers (make than one as of Monday), Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post--of course. Let's see...websites...Wait, do you mean blogs, too? Oh, and I used to read Newsweek and still read Entertainment Weekly (ooops, there goes my VP bid, I bet), Rolling Stone, let me think...The New Yorker expired....See what I mean--it's hard to spit it out...and I bet a lot of you read tons more--I seem to be down to one eye as well as one newspaper.

Wow this is getting bad

Katie never remotely asked her that. She asked what she reads to get her world view. Palin could not respond:

Sarah Palin Can't Name a Newspaper She Reads (Video)

Then in a different interview to Fox News she says the Economist and the Wall Street Journal

Palin Claims She Reads 'The Economist' (Video)

Now she reads the NYT and USA Today?

Desperately trying to defend the obvious is getting sad.

LATVIA!

Yup, I was right

I watched this and thought, gosh, Dave must hold an elected office--must have been voted on statewide for SOMETHING, but nope--he is CLEARLY not as experienced as the woman he scorns.

Schuster

No, a joke would be funny.  They can't even look at the actual tape which proves, meaning David, eliminating all doubt, factually correct, them wrong and cop to it.  Why not give me 15 minutes with Sgt. Schultz and then let's see who knows more about energy policy, management skills/budgeting,(Alaska budget vs. the Annenberg project), market economics. I bet we can raise the money for the time, David.  Your guy up for that? If he can't take questions from a simple citizen from east Tennessee, how's he going to lead the free world, or what's left of it? Is this the pentence for saying the Clintons were "pimping" Chelsea, the highpoint, such as it is , of your "journalistic" career?

Go John!

Ziegler's not a pushover, by any means.  He's also very unafraid to speak his mind.

Noel correct me if i'm wrong

so if i have this correct;

Shuster and MSNBC are not promoting their own opinion BUT anyone who disagrees with the opinion they are not promoting gets argued with and talked over?

The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” -- Chief Justice John Roberts

Shuster

Right, Shuster, "it's everyone's opinion" that Sarah is unqualified. Oh, yeah. And Nancy Pelosie said the other day that 80% of Americans agree with giving bailouts. Ignorant "liberals" live in their own little fantasy world. So glad to see this guy give it to this so-called "jounalist", David Shuster. He's a typical ignorant "liberal" ass and must be told so more often.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

Everyone He Knows

Of course when Shuster says "everyone" he only means everyone he knows in the liberal media.  So if "everyone" thinks a certain way then it's okay for the media to be one sided?  Well, everyone thinks Hamas is a terrorist group but that doesn't stop the liberal media from avoiding the term "terrorist" in its description of the group.  One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter they say.  Selective morality and standards is a dagger to the integrity of journalism.

The only allegiance or standard that the liberal media has is liberalism. Liberalism is nothing more than the utopian mindset of a 5 year old.  It sounds great on paper and in politics, but in the real world it fails over and over and over.

 I never can decide who

I can never decide who the worst is at MSNBC .. I still think its Olberman because he is an utterly  humorless mad man ....Shuster is Allah awful because I think he still plays the part of a "journalist" which makes him sickening..... Chris Matthews plays the part of a school girl at a Jonas Brothers concert with Obama sitting in.... all will get nominated in the first round of the Hall of Shame

save money dumb bombs for dumb people... durka durka ... dark_ds said that

Did Maddow have her arm up Schusters ass like a sock puppet.

Watching Schuster Olberman and Maddow is brutal.  These three each have the same smarmy irratating way of lieing and smerking as they do it.

I watched yesterday on Mathews show.  They played the clip of Sarah saying waht she read and then the commentators had the nerve to say she still did not answer the question.  I was throwing up in my new batch of chex mix I just made.  Pissed me off because that stuff is expensive to make.

Here is the way I see it

Olberman has the Giant Ass

Maddow has the giant strap on

Schuster has a giant pair of man boobs.

Mathews has the giant mouth and we no what that is for.

Sorry ladies I have just had it with these people. If you speak out they trash you with lies until you shut up.

I am more discusted by the media than I am by Obama and that is hard to do.

MERCY !

You must have read my mind !  I too, am sick of all the liberal BS thrown at me.  I am waiting for it to all end.  I mean really....how much longer can this go on for ?  Maybe if we wait long enough, maybe they'll be like all the other lower life forms and start feeding on each other.  Here's hoping.

Ack!

Olbermann is the biggest pervert in the world.

Squirrel Shuster

Mr. Ziegler just tore him a new (insert vulgar body part here).

The Squirrel just proved what an absolute buffoon that he really is. Of course Keithampehtimine would never let Mr. Ziegler anywhere near him.

Noel, is it possible that Sarah and the GOP could sue the networks for slander? After all, there is a ton of evidence, and the MRC has done a excellent job of documenting everything.

This would prove that the MSM is a farce as the civil trial dragged on.

Mark Levin would be the plaintiff!

MSNBC is daily showing us that they are nothing more than an English version of Pravda. Their agenda is not even subtle.

speaking of Pravda

I have now decided on what the perfect answer Palin could have given to Couric in regards to what she reads. she should have just said Pravda, after all, we are awfully close to Russia. 2nd best answer would have been, Nothing. I don't read a dang thing. I would have laughed my rear off. I guess I would have to say as the 3rd best answer : I read the internet only, because not only are papers dying dinosaurs, but they are too slanted.
