It's really cold outside.
How cold is it?
It's so cold that people in Belgium are burning copies of the print version of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth."
Such was satirically presented in the Belgian newspaper De Standaard Wednesday (full-size cartoon below the fold courtesy Anthony Watts):

Hehehehe.
The cartoon was in De Standaard's opinion section Wednesday, page 21:

Noel, This is just too good!
January 7, 2009 - 10:49 ET by DelsaI have to pass this along.
Please forgive me but
I have a random question.
This "president elect" and press conferences!
I do not remember any "president elect" EVER doing this much in your face. EVER!
I realize I can't stand him but this is just too much.
I never purchased Al's book so I can't burn it but I would if I had a copy.
Doesn't it seem like Obama
January 7, 2009 - 10:56 ET by celatorDoesn't it seem like Obama has been president for about 100 years? There is something so obnoxious about this guy that ten seconds of him chinwagging his sophomoric cliches at us in the unwashed masses seems like a century of torture.
No More!
January 7, 2009 - 11:21 ET by centurion2674I didn't want BO to win not just because of his Marxist tendencies, but the idea of four more years of media drooling and their constant coverage of his every move. Enough already!
It's funny
January 7, 2009 - 12:02 ET by 10ksnookerBut I thought the same thing -- how tired I am getting so quick at listening to this poor ignorant fellow stand there and repeatedly say nothing.
You wonder how long the media is going to stand and report on nothing. Obamabi is interested in being President, not doing President.
ha ha Noel
January 7, 2009 - 10:49 ET by candanceLove the reference to The Match Game.
If only that kind of common sense would drift over to America.
I'm a typical white person.

Actually, the entire group surrounding SOBama are egotistical, obnoxious, holier-than-thou, power hungry priggs.

Too bad that the CO2 released by burning them won't do anything to help warm the planet up. (;~> gary
If AGW were real...
January 7, 2009 - 12:09 ET by danhat...Al would be the largest contributor to an increased level of CO2.
He would have to offset himself.

DO NOT MOCK AL GORE
January 7, 2009 - 12:29 ET by Carl KolchakDO NOT MOCK AL GORE.
As we speak the Ministry of Truth will be going back and changing all past references about Global Warming to prove to you that Al Gore and Al Gore alone is speaking the truth. All past videos or print media articles will be changed. You people had better not question the Ministry of Truth either, or else the Thought Police will come get you in your sleep and you will be vaporized or never heard from again, or sent to a forced labor camp.
BIG BROTHER HAS SPOKEN!
"Oh we make the standards and we make the rules
And if you don't abide by them you must be a fool
We have the power to control the whole land
You never must question our motives or plans -
'Cause we'll outlaw your voices, do anything we want
We've nothing to fear from the nation
We'll throw you out of your houses if you get too much
If we have to we'll destroy your generation
'Cause we've built up a frontage and we've gained respect
There's no one to endanger our position -" 'Standards'
OUR TURN!
January 7, 2009 - 12:40 ET by AJBLet's see... the Danes published some muslum cartoons and there was rioting in the streets and killings, fartwars issued to kill the publisher. Now it's our turn. Let's riot using publishing dessecration of our beloved global warming hero, Algore. We can kill a few muslums, burn a few of their buildings ALL in the name of Global Warming. Yeah, that's the ticket...
Sad truth
January 7, 2009 - 13:05 ET by LionKingSadly, burning 1000 books will not help reverse the cooling.
Seriously, people are burning books to stay warm
January 7, 2009 - 21:41 ET by PopularTechPoor burn books to stay warm in chilly India, 55 dead (Reuters, January 5, 2009)
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is Not Pollution

January 7, 2009 - 21:46 ET by Cool ArrowAnd burning the books just cause more CO2 emissions.
