That was Obama's promise back in March that he made in Cleveland.  His "silence' today seems to reinforce his stated commitment to Israel.  So, what do the Arabs expect, capitulation to Arabs destruction of Israel?  That's NOT going to happen.

Obama may be many things, but he is not stupid and he knows that his campaign speeches and promises were recorded, so he's not about to say something now that will reverse his earlier statements, not before he get into office anyways.  With all the controversy surround him already, he can't afford another one this close to his inauguration.

Since when do our lawmakers not offer opinions because they want to defer to the president?? Where was that philosophy when Pelosi went to Syria against Bush's wishes, Reid emphatically told us the war in Iraq was lost, or Congress passed a hateful resolution against Turkey just to embarrass them?

Now all the sudden they are demure little kittens who don't want to talk over Bush?? That's just plain BS!!!!!

God forbid Obama at least say "here are my feelings on the subject but I will let Bush make policy until he leaves." At least we would have some baseline of how he feels so we know what to expect. This business of totally avoiding it comes off like a cop out.

PS - If we only have one president at a time then why the crap is Obama announcing some big speech on the economy? What, we have one president to handle the ugly stuff and two presidents to take credit for passing out welfare checks? This is such a freaking joke.

You are exactly right!  And it's so obvious, that it's embarassing. 

Obama is silent because he does not know what to do or say.  Way in over his head.  Yes, the media will try their damndest to spin and cover for him, but they can't do that 100%.  Look at what we're doing here.   

From what I've seen of Obama's actual stated policies, I'd much prefer that he have none. So this is almost a welcome relief.

I think it's a cop-out for Obama to keep saying 'there's only 1 president at a time'.  The least he should do is make a statement supporting the  current admin.
