Did you ever in your wildest dreams imagine seeing an article at the liberal website the Huffington Post that not only refuted the anthropogenic global warming myth, but also asked Nobel Laureate Al Gore to apologize for the climate hysteria he's caused?
No...neither did I.
Unfortunately, Harold Ambler's "Mr. Gore: Apology Accepted" wasn't featured on HuffPo's home page when it was published late Saturday morning, nor was it included in the site's featured posts.
Instead, it was buried in the e-zine's Green section well under eight other articles, some published three days earlier. These included climate alarmist Joseph Romm's January 1 post "The Top 10 Global Warming Stories of 2008."
But, at least it was published:
Mr. Gore has stated, regarding climate change, that "the science is in." Well, he is absolutely right about that, except for one tiny thing. It is the biggest whopper ever sold to the public in the history of humankind.
As this is a lengthy debunking of the junk science typically disseminated by liberal outlets like HuffPo, I recommend readers review the entire marvelous piece.
That said, if Arianna's goal in allowing Ambler to publish this article was to provide some balance to her website's typical alarmism, it would be more believable if pieces by realists actually made it to the front page.
On the flipside, Saturday's front page did include a link to a Times Online piece dealing with well-known climate realist Vaclav Klaus's views on global warming.
Makes one wonder why Arianna's people would bury a similarly skeptical article written by one of their own contributors.
Any guesses?

Dissension in the Ranks at the PuffHo
January 3, 2009 - 18:46 ET by reasonsjesterI am not sure what gave this Ambler the gall to question the Global Warming orthodoxy on the left. Perhaps the Stalinists are losing party discipline now that they feel that they have achieved absolute control over policy and they can let their vanguard down. Soon they will have the Supreme Court, the legislature, the executive, the press, the universities, the courts, the schools and they are looking to shut down talk radio and attack the Internet as a forum for political opinion and so they are rightly feeling a bit cocky. They can tolerate a little intellectual diversity in house, because soon there will be a such an overwhelming propaganda machine ginned up for our Lord and Savior Obama that a little bit of faux even-handedness can be tolerated.

I digress, they went to the "pending comment's" so the admin's could filter comment's . If you look at Ayres first post, there is nothing but gushing comment's wishing Mr. "I would like to kill 30 million Americans" into the fold.
Albeit, Arianna may have went to the pending comments as a filter to keep the real crazy douchenozzles out, but it may also act as a double-edged sword and keep any lucidity and sunlight from entering that bacteria culture of a website she run's depending on how radical her admins are at the time they are at their post's.

A lot of people have now had the opportunity to listen to you, and contemplate the horrors these people planned. Well, FWIW, I think what we do, by presenting it clearly at the top of the front page, is even more honest and upfront. We do the same thing at the MRC website where it's boldly stated, "The Leader in Documenting, Exposing, and Neutralizing Liberal Media Bias."
By contrast, our supposed "competitor" Media Matters chooses only to present its leanings in the "About Us" section. Same with ThinkProgress. There's nothing at the front pages of either of these highly-partisan websites disclosing their political leanings. NOTHING!
Dontcha think it's more honest to state your political leaning right at the top so there isn't any question or suggestion of misdirection? ns

If they're posing as a watchdog and not disclosing their leanings in an upfront fashion, don't you think that's a deception?
Also, remember how this began:
Remember? We're at least honest about why we either don't or do so infrequently, correct?
What's the solution? ALL WEBSITES disclose their leanings upfront.
Let's take this further: so do ALL news media outlets and their representatives. Everyone should have a "D", "R", "L", or "C" next to their name whenever they're on TV discussing current events. Only then will the playing field be level.
Alas, your side wouldn't want this, Jer, for the lack of such disclosure allows liberal propaganda to run rampant. If Katie, Brian, Charlie, Wolf, Schieffer, Steph, Matthews, Mitchell, Lauer, Sawyer, etc., etc., had an "L" or a "D" next to their names every time they were on camera, the jig would be up, and Democrats mightn't win another election the rest of our lives.

There were also plenty of name calling incidents, junk arguments, and other such posts. Then there were the minute number of somewhat logical AGW proponent comments and the in-betweeners who avoided the debate since it does distract from much larger relative issues.
Not all the posters at HuffPo are illogical liberals. However a large number of the posts do come from that crowd, and after reloading the page, I have found that less of positive replies from before are still there. Clear, They do not
January 4, 2009 - 08:08 ET by NL207Clear,
They do not "censor" opposing viewpoints. What they do is hold contrarian posters to a higher standard of conduct than liberal posters. They will suppress any post that contains anything that can remotely be considered obscenity or ad homiinem if the content is contrarian.
The policing mechanism is the libtards themselves. Any post that is flagged as 'offensive' by HuffPo readers will get reviewed by their moderators. Any post that draws a sufficent number of these flags will get pulled regrdless of actual content. Sort of a reverse 'digg'.
I have personally received this treatment there. I have also taken considerable ad hominem abuse from the morons who post there, and I am largely prohibited by their editorial team from responding in kind. My replies to these idiots will be deleted if I acknowledge in anyway the ad hominem attack launched at me. It is still a lot of fun to hurl these morons into coniptions in spite of the de facto cenmsorship in place there..

I have to give some props to HuffPost
January 4, 2009 - 01:51 ET by jarrett.edwardsI have to say I will give some props to HuffPost for at least publishing this article. Yeah they buried it, but that is more than most of the MSM would do. I hope this means that there will be an opening to logically discuss this issue. That being said I used to like Arianna back when she was on our side. She was the only reason I watched Politically Incorrect, I hope her ideology will switch again and she can burn all the liberals that have been bankrolling her, but we shouldn't let her back in our camp, just laugh our butts off!
I don't think she is going
January 4, 2009 - 20:37 ET by math4lifeI don't think she is going to come back. I never understood why BO had Al Gore (a person who makes millions of dollars off of promoting the theory of AGW) with him when talking about global warmining. I would think you would have scientists around you when stating your agenda. I am starting to think no real scientists want to be involved with the AGW myth.
My prayer for 2009.
January 4, 2009 - 01:51 ET by pbthinkerI fervently pray that Al Gore is exposed for the phoney that he is and that this global warming hysteria is finally proven to be nothing more than another lie from liberals, looking for new ways to fund their give-away programs.
It won't take much for this congress to pass cap and trade legislation that will bankrupt this country. They have morons like Henry Waxman in high places and Pelosi is inclined to pass all of this stuff. The only hope is in the Senate where RINO's inhabit the space and you just never know how much common sense they have. It's pretty scary.
If Gore is forced to prove his theories, which he can't, the Dems will have to back off of their plans. One can only hope.
Once again, Gore is really no different than Bernie Madoff, he's just scamming people with a different product. It's time to nail him for the fraud he is.

The eco-fascists have run out of time
January 4, 2009 - 08:34 ET by JohnMcGrewThey had hoped to have the agenda in place before the next cooling cycle started, when they could have taken credit for it and then boasted of their success in controlling both the ecology and the economy. Alas, nature moved too fast for them.
How was the agenda to work? There is no aspect of your life, from the moment you are conceived until long after you’re dead and buried that does not involve converting matter into CO2. Once government bureaucracies getsthe power to regulate the emission of CO2, there is absolutely no activity that you partake in life that will not be subject to regulating by people you’ve never seen, heard of, or voted for. Sure, today they’ll talk about regulating politically-incorrect activities such asowning SUVs and jetting off to the Bahamas. But once those carbon-spewing evils arevanquished, what will be next? Sooner or later, they will work their way down to either some activity that you enjoy in your life, or worse, some activity that represents your livelihood.
Until very recently, the left (and even some of the supposed right) was firmly behind this. But now nature has prematurely intervened, and there are cracks in the coalition. Hopefully, Mr. Gore’s “consensus” will beseen for what it is before we have a President who is willing to bet his legacy on this fraud.

Democrats 'Solve Global Warming'
January 4, 2009 - 12:13 ET by Retired GeekDemocratic genius Dennis Kuchinich and other intellectual Democrats have found the answer to Global Warming.
Liberal Genuis Maxine Waters was explaining why NASA should land the 'Sun Lander' at NIGHT to avoid heat damage to the lander.
A common epiphany occured involving Maxine Waters, Dennis Kuchinich, Barney Frank, John Murtha and William Jefferson.
They said "all of the sudden we realized what is causing 'Global Warming' at the same time!"
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!
"Adding another hour of sunlight during the summer afternoons", a spokesman for the group said "is the obvious culprit".
The five congresspersons declared they would wear only 'Speedos' publicly until Al Gore acknowledges their momentous discovery.
A spokesman for Al Gore said "Mr Gore is in a bitter dispute involving his claim of inventing the wheel with Louis Farrakhan who claims space aliens created the 'Mother Wheel' and may not have time to comment on the discovery."
The 'Speedo' five will appear 'Speedo' clad til all congresspeople join in solidarity by wearing 'Speedos' - Harry Reid is expected to wear a 'Speedo' immediately.
The bill will be entitled "Stop Global Warming by Eliminating Extra Hours of Sunshine" sponsored by all intellectuals in the Democratic Party.
Call your congresspersons today!
Join the fight against Global Warming - wear your 'Speedo' everywhwere in solidarity with the 'Speedo Five'!
S. Fred Singer
January 5, 2009 - 03:37 ET by nofateI just received and have been reading "Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years" by S. Fred Singer and Dennis T. Avery. Mr. Ambler's article touches on a number of issues discussed in Singer's book. Here is an excerpt from a customer review at Amazon:
The prologue of the book has a graph that shows 219,000 years of temperature variation. What was apparent to a non-scientist like myself is that periods when large portions of the earth are not covered with ice amount to a very small portion of the time. Of the last 200,000 years or so, only about 15% of that total time has been non-glacial! We are currently in an "interglacial" period, quote:
Note that I have an updated edition that does include the work of Svensmark. Singer and Avery offer cites to hundreds of scientific papers that back up their work and stated that they left out hundreds more for the sake of space and time. They not only discuss in detail the 1500 year cycle that has been documented in many locations on the earth, but also in many different forms such as ice cores, glacial gravel doppings, pollen samples, tree rings, ocean floor sediments, etc. They also discuss other factors that drive changes in the earth's climate over long periods of time including this:
Another point they make is why are we afraid of global warming? The Midieval Warm Period was warmer than what we have now and people flourished. Would these AGW- oops!- Climate Change idiots prefer to go back to an era where there was a mile thick layer of ice over where Chicago now sits??? And how do they think they are going to change anything using the hand of man? Check out this picture of a sunspot. The accompanying text states "the sunspot had two dark cores each wider than Earth connected by active magnetic filaments thousands of kilometers long". Look at that- each of those sunspots is the size of an earth! And we now know, as Singer discusses, that when we have a solar minimum, as we do now, the earth is more affected by cosmic rays from outside the galaxy, due to the probable decrease in the solar wind. And Gore and his disciples are going to change the "warming" cycle. Right. What a scam.
