Aside from MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, there is possibly no greater and more outspoken media critic of the Bush administration than CNN's Jack Cafferty who on Wednesday read some of the most disrespectful and disgraceful viewer e-mail messages about our nation's President and Vice President you could possibly imagine an American television network airing.
In fact, the terrorist supporting al Jazeera might have shown a little more discretion than this America-hating malcontent.
Readers are warned that regardless of political leaning, if you have any respect for the office of the President and those who occupy it, the following report aired during the 5PM installment of Wednesday's "Situation Room" will be quite disturbing:
JACK CAFFERTY, CNN: The question is: Who will history be kindest to, President Bush or Vice President Cheney?
Philip in Toronto: "Kinder to Bush. He was just a dupe and a slow thinker propelled from failure to failure by his father's political and financial connections. Cheney on the other hand is evil and self-absorbed and more than likely an undiagnosed sociopath, a power mad Rasputin unrestrained in his own lies and deceits. He feels no one's suffering but his own."
Maria in Ontario: "History will be more kind to Bush because he is widely regarded as a buffoon and need of adult supervision and totally only under the influence of Cheney and other extremists. On the other hand, Cheney is viewed more as a very evil sinister figure that operated in the shadows to gain favor for himself and his corporate buddies."
Judy in California writes: "It seems Bush is taking the lead here. The White House has given its priority to cleaning up the images of both men so we can all look upon them with great admiration in the future. I wonder how long it will take for the families of the fallen soldiers and those of the dead and maimed Iraqis to change their minds?"
Marie says: "Bush, people tend to forgive incompetence before malice."
Maurice in New Jersey: "I deeply hope when my kids are studying this period in history class, Cheney and Bush will appear as nothing more than a blip, a long forgotten memory of a dark period in our country's history."
And Allan in Buxton, Maine: "Historians are the best fiction writers ever. Bush is just stupid, but Cheney is evil so they will have to use their imaginations to re-write the last eight years to make either of them look human."
If you didn't see your email here, you can go to my blog CNN.com/Caffertyfile, and look for yours there among hundreds of others; not a lot of kind words for either of them.
WOLF BLITZER, HOST: I can see. Jack, thank you.
You've got to be kidding me?
Were there no e-mail messages, even from those disappointed with the past eight years, that at least showed respect for our President and Vice President? Was there no positive feedback that Cafferty could have shared with his audience that might have offered some balance?
Honestly, it's moments like these that make me ashamed to have anything to do with the so-called news industry.

That is the best defense. You see, McD's profits are up. Why, because when they took their employee off of the gay/lesbian board, people of conviction spent money there again. Ford Motor is the only one not looking to be bailed out. Why, because at least in this country(not in Europe) FMC stopped promoting there vehicles in homosexual mags among other things.
People of conviction can make a difference. All the media bias reporting like that done here will not stop these fools from destroying what got the US where it is. for example, take Christmas, what if followers of Christ decided to skip the retail side of the Holiday for one year! Economy down the toilet as 25% of the fiscal business is done in those 2 months. However, we would be ostracized as the bad guys. But, things would change. This year, both Costco and Home Depot thought they might slide through without a mention of the Christ-based holiday. No Go! i have gone on long enough. Keep your eye on them, NB, but do not expect much results without pecuniary enforcement.

December 18, 2008 - 10:50 ET by BlondeBDS on display, yet again. "Hundreds" of e-mails, and not one in support of President Bush or Vice President Cheney? Honestly, that has my BS meter going off!
Darth Cheney has more brains in his pinkie than the entire Obama team. And President Bush, for all his failure to adequately communicate the "vision thing", is an honorable man who protected this country after the horrible awakening to reality we had on 9/11.
A pox on these vicious media mavens and all their houses!
Cafferty
December 18, 2008 - 11:02 ET by cvgbuckeyeCafferty is nothing but a bitter old drunk that has false visions of grandeur. He is a liar and a coward who is not fit to wipe the backsides of President Bush, Vice President Cheney or any other decent human beings.
He belongs right where he is, with a total pack of cowards whose only power lies in their barrels of ink; Wolf Blitzer included.
Decent people should start gathering a list of ALL national and local advertisors that appear during these programs and incite a total boycott of ALL of them.

Not a lot of kind words
December 18, 2008 - 10:58 ET by KC MulvilleWell, what did you expect? Caffrey has a long history of bashing Bush and Cheney, and he proposed a question that invited insults. So he gets a bunch of responses that follow form, just as he intended. What's disingenuous (or reveals his own blindness) is when Caffrey represents these emails as objective proof that America shares his own point of view.
Caffrey is predictable to the point of boredom. When his face shows up on camera, you know what he's going to say, and how he's going to say it. It's no more interesting or entertaining than watching a dog bark. At least Olbermann comes up with new outrages once in a while. Caffrey is the same sour, grumpy jerk on every segment.

December 18, 2008 - 10:59 ET by mattmRemember how the stupid buffoons and evil sociopaths of the MSM were questioning the future of Talk Radio - especially Rush Limbaugh - when Bush was elected? They we're saying "now that Clinton's gone, what's Rush going to talk about?"
Well, once Bush is out of office, where are the Laffertys, Olbemanics and Tingly-Legged Obama groupies going to direct their hate?

We all had someone like
December 18, 2008 - 11:01 ET by Captain RepusWe all had someone like Cafferty in our lives, usually in our small home-town where the drunk would spend endless days sitting in front of a store mindlessly mumbling things like 'the world will end tomorrow', harassing women with sexual comments and mildly convulsing and making wierd body movements when small children, especially young boys, walked by.
Complaints to the police or store management generally went unheard or with responses being something to do with the first amendment or that we need to show more compassion and understanding.
Eventually the problem would solve itself when the offender was found lying in a gutter having strangled himself in his own vomit.

Upside Down
December 18, 2008 - 11:43 ET by bradbenj5952BDS/CDS at its worse. President George W. Bush earned a BA in History from Yale University and an MBA from Havard and the media paints him as a dimwit. Al (the sky is falling) Gore, on the other hand, has attended several colleges and universities, including a "divinity school", has failed to obtain a degree, yet he has been held up by the MSM as some kind of super genius to the point of winning a Nobel Peace Prize!
What's wrong with this picture? There is a sickness with many on the left that I can't begin to understand.

December 18, 2008 - 11:36 ET by krendlerOn a related note, how will History view today's "news" media?...you know, the media, which has an approval rating well below that of Big, Bad Bush and Cheney. Even below that of congress' abysmal numbers.
Half tempted to whip up some js or ajax code and flood CNN/Cafferty's viewer mail form with something along the lines of "Hey Jack: Gone on any drinking binges lately? Run over any cyclists this week?"
See if he reads that on the air.
Can't remember the guy who said it (some conservative) but he was on the Situation Room one afternoon - right after Cafferty's rant - and he managed to fit the word "alcoholic" and Cafferty in the same sentence. It was hysterical. Cafferty had to have been sitting there listening/watching off camera.

Jack and Arianna
December 18, 2008 - 12:29 ET by rammingspeedJack Cafferty belongs exclusively on the Huffington Post. The ease with which Arianna Huffington has become a "respected" figure in the public eye through the Internet has bled through to CNN. Cafferty's kind of radicalism and hate speech is evidence of a severely disturbed human being, who belongs in a psychologist's office rather than on a cable TV news channel.

December 18, 2008 - 17:39 ET by fitzfongIf we learned anything from the way the media and the Democrats treated the Bush Administration it is that the term "Patriotism" has been redefined. Why all the shock?
December 18, 2008 - 13:51 ET by AFBayouPatriotThe media hates both President Bush and Vice President Cheney and do not even attempt to hide it. I wonder how many of the hate emails were generated by CNN staffers just off the set using assumed names and sent in? Cafferty says "...among hundreds of others; not a lot of kind words for either of them." Of course there were not any emails of kind words. Those emails were filtered out and sent back to the sender with a malcious virus attached to them to destroy the Bush/Cheney lovers computer! Since Cafferty didn't find a lot of kind words for either of them, I see this blog also doesn't have any kind words for either CNN, Cafferty, or Biltzer.
