Coal Association Calls Obama-Biden a Disaster, Will Media Notice?

The Ohio Coal Association, in response to revelations about Barack Obama's extremely hostile position towards coal-fired power plants, issued a statement Monday claiming, "the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it."

With only hours remaining before polls open, and this issue having a huge potential impact on battleground states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, it's going to be very interesting to see how much press this gets.

Here is the complete release:

Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like 'I haven't been some coal booster' and 'if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them' are extraordinarily misguided.

It's evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state's voters.

Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation's coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to 'bankrupt' our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.

In addition to providing an affordable, reliable source of low-cost electricity, domestic coal holds the key to our nation's long-term energy security - a goal that cannot be overlooked during this time of international instability and economic uncertainty.

Few policy areas are more important to our economic future than energy issues. As voters head to the polls tomorrow, it is essential they remember that access to reliable, affordable, domestic energy supplies is essential to economic growth and stability.

Given the importance of coal to this nation, one would think this statement would get a lot of attention. Or, will the Obama-loving media bury until Wednesday?

Stay tuned.

Not on cnn.com, not on msnbc.com.. only on NB and Fox. It is really sad how the MSM is building this guy up to be so great, when he has nothing to offer anyone, he has proven that he will say and do anything to get into the Whitehouse, that scares me, hes making all these promises, but goes back on each one, his character is shady, and we know nothing about him. His real intentions are becoming clear, and that is socialism to communism.

The Obamamedia?

They'll keep it burried...

In a pique of self destruction.

If the shwarzefuhrer is elected maybe the coal companies should lay everyone off and close the plants for a few months just to see how sound this policy really is and in sympathy to Obama's wishes. I think the next for years are going to be if not interesting: action packed.

I have to wonder how many

I have to wonder how many of those early voters in Ohio after hearing this want to change their vote?  The rubes just voted themselves into the unemployment line and a lower standard of living.

Here's the thing you didn't contemplate, Obama, the order taker, is doing what Al Gore told him to do, make coal expensive so alternative energy would be cost effective instead of expensive. Coal is a fifth of wind energy in cost of production. All those so called jobs in the alternative energy field will be hopefully employ all the people who lost their jobs due to high energy prices.  Yeah, the audacity of hope, change you can believe in.

Now how many of you considered when Al Gore said it would take TRILLIONS of dollars to get rid of coal, oil and natural gas fired electric generators to exchange with wind, geothermal and solar power, where that money is going to come from?  Why that would be you suckers...  in the form of a 5 fold increase in electric rates.  SUCKERS...

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, starving the poor one gallon of ethanol at a time. Fill your tank with E85 and cull a village.

Give Them A Break

Come on, Noel, give the media a break, they are really busy with some top stories and don't have time for your fluff piece. Why, just look at these stories they are covering. Don't you understand priorities???

From cnn.com:

Ticker: Attack on wife went too far, Obama says
Sarah Palin pranked by fake Sarkozy
Lawyer caught hugging tot's mom in jail
Joaquin Phoenix: I'm done with movies

And I really love this one:
Mouse baked into pack of hotdog buns

They will get around to your silly story, uh, Wednesday.

This is some sort of sick joke

The fact that such an obscene politician as Barack Hussein Obama could get this close to the Presidency of the United States, while mocking its citizens (clinging to guns and religion), making fun of his opponents for openly tagging him with socialist tendencies (all the while he's a Marxist at heart), is truly beyond my understanding.

Now he's to the point of openly laying out his agenda of destroying our national security (don't even get me started on Iraq, missile defense, etc.) by undermining any hope we have for energy independence.

Two days after he takes office, he'll grant amnesty for the illegals, give away the rest of the country, and it's all over.  And the media was in bed with him the entire time, covering, spinning, schmoozing and dodging for their Messiah.

We won't hear about Obama's "brilliant" coal plan in the media until our electric bills double, or electricity is rationed, the government wants to seize control of our thermostats, barbeque grilling will be banned, and anyone who lives closer than five miles to their jobs must ride a bicycle.

Then the media will have it's hands in the air "woe is me, how did this happen?"

Color me disgusted.

In his own words (19 seconds):  This man is qualified to be VP?

The Big 11th Hour Gaffe we've been waiting for...

... which of course will remain deep in the mineshaft.

Loretta Lynn is not going to be pleased.

I cannot speak for most of

I cannot speak for most of the Obammamedia, but I'm pretty confident the SF Chronicle won't be covering this.

The MSM is the 21st Century version of the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda

How about electricity

The life blood of modern society.

May I suggest we cut electric power to Al Gore's house and Chicago first.

The USA has 27% of the world's coal supply, and get about 50% of our electricity from coal. Coal power plants are mostly used for "base load", the most important from a cost standpoint.

10k

May I suggest we cut electric power to Al Gore's house and Chicago first.

I vote we cut the power off at NBC, MSNBC,CNN, ABC,CBS and NYT!

just remember

Father Obama Knows Best.  Now all of you go to your rooms and think about that for awhile and dont come out until you have a better attitude.

Till Wednesday?

They'll bury it entirely... it's too late to get this the attention it truly needs.

Here's the definition of elite Gov. Palin should've given: An elite is someone with the wherewithal to enact their policies or agenda without regard for the economic consequences, because they have the coin to withstand it. The rest of you be damned...

...got a planet to save.

Is there any Wonder

Is there any wonder why Obama has been begging his masses to vote early. He's sure that some things will come out, and doesn't want anyone to find out before they've voted.

Yes, i believe that there will be millions of people who will wish they'd waited to vote. This news if reported on sooner or at all, will/would have guaranteed Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, and maybe even Virginia for McCain.

This will have absolutely no

This will have absolutely no effect. I watched MSNBC for 4 hours this morning hoping that occasionally honest Scarborough would mention it. Nope. I also checked out Newspaper and TV News websites in Pittsburgh and there wasn't one word about this. It won't make a bit of difference.

Liberals don't use or need

Liberals don't use or need gasoline, heating oil, electricity, jet fuel for their G-5"s, natural gas, coal or any other form of energy except solar and windmills. Their suv's, like Al Gore's, run on GOOD WILL and RESPECT FOR MOTHER EARTH. Come, on people, if we just hold hands and sing, our energy needs will be met by the liberal energy fairey. Energy and power will just APPEAR, as we need it and all will be well in the Universe.
