Former NBA star Charles Barkley followed up Monday's idiotic assertion that John McCain can only win the White House if he uses the race card by offering a rather vulgar opinion of Fox News Channel.
According to Broadcasting & Cable, Barkley said, “I watch CNN, they’re not f***ed up like Fox.”
A Fox spokesman shot back, "Charles is a shill for a Turner owned network."
Honestly, folks, you can't make this stuff up (emphasis added, h/t TVNewser):
“I watch CNN, they’re not f***ed up like Fox,” Barkley told B&C. “They are a mouthpiece for the Republican Party. I watch [Fox] a couple times when there is someone I want to see on there. But they’re corrupt."
When asked whether he is just shilling for his parent company (TNT and CNN are corporate cousins), Barkley denies that he has to stick up for his team.
“Hell no, I don’t,” he says. “I like Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper and John King. They at least try to give both sides.”
They TRY to give both sides? How, Charles? By almost exclusively having left-leaning anchors and contributors?
Fortunately, the good folks at Fox weren't taking this lying down:
“It’s hardly a surprise that Charles is a shill for a Turner owned network.... He obviously needs the steady paycheck to pay off his consistent gambling debts,” the spokesperson told B&C.

Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, etc., have every right to peacefully advance or defend their races in the privacy of the voting booth. So do whites. There are no PC voting criteria.
Obama, by his many associations, statements, and acts, really IS an enemy of the white race, including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. If you feel guilty in that realization, then you have been neutralized by the propaganda of neo-communists like Ayers and Rathke, and neo-columnists like Jonathan Alter and Denis Hamill.
Understand that Obama was indoctrinated in adolescence by the anti-white black racist communist Frank Davis, then he was mentored by the anti-white black racist Jeremiah Wright at his anti-white black racist church, then he became friends with anti-white black racist Muslims Louis Farakhan and Kenya's communist Raila Odinga. These are a few examples of Obama's anti-white black racist "roots." The last I checked, induction is still a method for finding truth. If it walks like a duck .... Read the above Obamafile, and you too will be convinced.
If the race of a nation's ruling class is overthrown, then that nation is overthrown, and the population is easily destroyed: Marxism 101. ACORN is, among other things, a black power, election fraud, neo-communist gang. Now go defend yourselves, and vote your race at the polls. It could be your last chance.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.
Sorry, you're wrong. FOX
October 29, 2008 - 16:16 ET by SmartypantsSorry, you're wrong. FOX is in no way "massively" slanted to the right. It certainly leans that way in its coverage, but no more than CNN leans to the left. The idea that CNN has gone both ways is ridiculous; this network has always been in the tank for Dems and their causes. They do so in a more subtle way than, say, MSNBC but they're still more slanted than FOX. Even the Clintons admitted that FOX was the most fair network during the primaries. All the others were tanking for Obama. FOX is stigmatized for two reasons: 1. The rest of the media, and Dems, have made a point of attacking FOX whenever and wherever they can in an effort to undermine the network as much as possible and; 2. Next to other networks, FOX appears to be way right, which is just a factor of how far left the others are.
Think of it, Obama actually mentioned FOX in the last debate, criticizing its covereage of him. Of course, he could not point out anything that was untrue, but nevertheless he disparages FOX in front of millions of tv viewers. Many of those people then go away with the notion that FOX is some kind of right wing radical network. Why does Barack Obama even feel the need to call out one specific television network that really only draws a portion of the audience of the others combined? Given the relatively small audience of FOX, a candidate for president, especially one who has the rest of the press in his pocket, should not be all that concerned with FOX. Well, Obama is not concerned with the size of the audience; he's concerned with FOX actually getting to the truth of matters. From this perspective, FOX is the only network that may actually dig into Obama's background. It is the only network that will ask Obama tough questions. It is the only network which has the possibility of damaging Obama, not from the size of its audience, but by revealing the truth about this guy. In the same way, FOX may also completely blow the lid off the rest of the networks, discrediting everything they've stood for over the years and uncovering their biases to the masses. This is why FOX is dangerous to the left. Liberals fear the truth, facts which can pierce their emotional arguments like hot metal through melted butter. FOX, therefore, has to be discredited. It is part of the whole left wing indoctrinization mindset that starts in grade schools and continues into adulthood. Liberals cannot debate openly in the arena of ideas; they have to use innuendo, conjecture and pie-in-the-sky nonsense to sell their philosophy. They have to rewrite history where it is necessary, stifle conflicting views and demagogue as much as possible.
i was listening until the last few lines...
October 30, 2008 - 07:48 ET by abeautifulpersonthat's where you began to make generalizations which put me off.
fox = right
CNN = left-ish. i agree
fox is pretty much out on its own because there isn't a wealth of similar news channels. fox may print truth sometimes, but it is constantly injected with right-wing dogma. there are a zillion anecdotes to prove this.
o'reilly has been caught making up facts over and over to drive his conservative POV (is this the hot poker you are referring to?) hannity is a blowhard who may be a nice guy to his friends, but is utterly contemptible to anyone who doesn't share his narrow views. these guys are the jewels in the fox crown and they have been proven factually inaccurate again and again.
the whitehouse handed over talking points over to fox analysts, guests etc, during the start of the iraq war.
i've lived in different countries and have had the luxury of taking in news from many sources. and i can say that fox REGULARLY (not always) behaves unprofessionally, with extreme bias and lowers the bar for journalism.
want to get a real perspective on conservative and left leaning journalism? dust off your passport and take in some new sights. you'd be shocked at how other puny, weak, little, happy, healthy, wealthy countries thrive.
oh and regarding your last paragraph, once you cease with the 'liberal' (s'cuse the pun, i couldn't resist) generalizations of the left, you'll discover that those to the left are a far more diverse crowd than you could ever imagine. (i certainly see different flavours on the right)
i am no representative of the left. if i was, would i be wasting my time with you?

You think, for instance, that strict gun control, or abortion are "moderate" positions because you've been fed words like "common sense" and "privacy" and "choice." Barkley's an idiot
October 29, 2008 - 15:28 ET by Adam_MEHe used to be a Republican, and for the right reasons. He was a conservative. He believed in personal responsibility and was opposed to welfare as a way of life(especially within the black community). He was often quoted as saying that it was wiser to teach someone how to fish rather than to give them a free fish every day.
Then somewhere along the way(either in '04 or '06), he had a "change of heart". He accused the GOP of only being for the rich and began supporting the Democrats, specifically John Edwards. Now I don't take issue with his disenchantment with the Republican Party. He certainly wasn't the only one who was upset that they'd abandoned their conservative principles.
Where I lost respect for Barkley was when HE abandoned HIS conservative principles. Edwards and Obama support the very same welfare policies that Sir Charles has bashed repeatedly. And Obama will take it to extremes never before seen in this country.
My personal theory is that the Chuckster has always been somewhat of a bandwagoner. He's been that way as an NBA player. When his teams began to suck, he demanded a trade to a contender. As an NBA commentator, he's been equally quick to praise a good team and turn on a bad team. And with the GOP incredibly unpopular during the '06 midterms, he suddenly had a moment of clarity and became a Democrat.
On a side note, he's also a very dumb politician. He went on CNN with Wolf Blitzer several months ago and trashed Christians. This from a guy who wishes to run for Governor of Alabama?! He just handed his opponent the perfect campaign ad.

You validate the old saying, "When you keep your mouth shut, people only think you're stupid. When you open it, you confirm it for them!" His stupidity is only surpassed by his limited vocabulary. I wonder there, Mr. Barkley, can you define a racist? The raw definition is one who makes a choice regarding a person based upon his race. According to my stupid, white, racist, mind, this would define almost all the 95% blacks that will vote for Obama. I'm sorry to disappoint you Sir Charles but if John McCain held the same views as Obama, he wouldn't get my vote. The truth is, McCain doesn't exactly light my fire. I was for Mitt Romney. I'm supporting McCain because he has more views in line with mine then your Obamessiah. The problem, sir, is that YOU and SO MANY OTHERS ARE BONA FIDE RACIST!
