Although it seems unlikely the disgusting, Sarah Palin-bashing T-shirts my colleague John Stephenson shared with readers today will get much attention from Obama-loving media, at least ABC's Jake Tapper has taken offense.
Writing at his Political Punch blog Sunday, Tapper, who continues to distinguish himself as one of the few impartial journalists still working for a mainstream press outlet, didn't mince words (photo edited for decency):
Who are these people in this photograph?
The picture was taken at Saturday at Philadelphia's Park Hyatt Hotel.
Others who saw the foursome verify the authenticity of this photograph to ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala, who is traveling with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Why would these four think this is acceptable discourse? [...]
Vile.
Yes it is, Jake, as is any media outlet that would report on the recent ugliness at McCain-Palin events -- such as Obama being referred to by attendees as a terrorist or an Arab -- without exposing people at Obama-Biden events wearing these t-shirts.
That said, kudos for going where most in your industry won't dare.
P.S. This vulgar epithet is nothing new, for a Google search of "Sarah Palin is a C***" produced 593,000 results. And, from what I can tell, CafePress.com has been selling these t-shirts for weeks, although apparently not any longer.
There's a news story here if there were any journalists left in our nation, dontcha think?

Those frustrated excuses
October 13, 2008 - 22:04 ET by bigtimerThose frustrated excuses for women have been under a rock since the Clinton team arrived on the scene..in big numbers they have scattered and stayed silent...they are useless really anymore...and nothing but a total embarrassment for any cause they have other than abortion still...which should be an embarrassment. Thank you Jake Tapper...I have come to have nothing but respect for you over time...even though we disagree, you are one heck of a fair journalist... thank YOU! All women should be offended everywhere...all of us!
I told my husband about this early this morning after commenting here last night and seeing this for the first time..I haven't heard one word anywhere about this despicable vileness...nothing form the msm...
Not that I have been everywhere, don't have time, but for the most part, nothing but silence compared to what we would hear if this was reversed, what is left of the slugs from NOW would be out in numbers screeching, the women in the dem party would, Obama and crew would demand an apology from McCain camp..on and on...
NOW has beomce NOSE or NOPE?
October 14, 2008 - 00:46 ET by wdhorningNOW must have decided it actually likes to be called sluts, c***s, wh***s, and other degrading names. I mean they must enjoy it or they would come out and defend Sarah Palin. Since they have not defended her, perhaps their members actually are sluts, c***s, wh***s and other such low lifes at NOW? The real women, with honor and their heads held up high are not part of that organization, that's for sure.
But then, NOW put out a very mild complaint about Bill Clinton, so maybe all NOW has become is the National Organization of Wimps.
Hey members, how does it feel to be a part of such a wimpy organization?
Also, how elitist they must be by calling themselves the National Organizations of Women:
1) they do not represent at least 50% the women in this country who are conservative, so they should be called the National Oganizaiton of Some Elitists or NOSE.
2) when they do stand up for women that is sexist, else if they were not sexist they would be called he National Organization of People Elitists or NOPE.

October 13, 2008 - 22:21 ET by pbthinkerThis is normal political discourse from Liberals. They can't debate the issues, because they're wrong on most of them and they know it. They can't attack Sarah Palin as stupid, unaccomplished, ugly, or any other things they might think of. They haven't been able to find any dirt on her, although they sent enough investigators up to Alaska, where there just aren't that many places to hide things, and still couldn't come up with dirt. What's left? I guess the "C" word is pretty appropriate because, if she wasn't one, they'd have been able to slam her for something else.

October 13, 2008 - 22:56 ET by Rush FanUnfortunately, the vile T-shirt shown in the picture was probably purchased and is still available at the Online Store at CrucialBrutal.
Those on the left can not only be disgusting and amoral, but most often lack compassion and tolerance for those that disagree with them. This intolerance is clearly displayed in this clip of McCain-Palin supporters parading through the streets of Upper Manhattan in New York City, and the abuse, anger and finger pointing (the middle finger) shown them by the citizens of New York City who are obviously liberal Obama supporters.

Obama instills this kind of behavior?
October 14, 2008 - 01:02 ET by wdhorningThis kind of behavior is not surprising, since Obama's past circle of friends have been Ayers, Wright, Rezko, Raines, ACORN, Odinga, Franks, Farrakhan and many others. I mean, "birds of a feather flock together."
So to see this kind of behavior today by Obama's followers says mountains about what Obama instills in others, and perhaps the kind of person Obama really is.
I wonder how Ms Obama feels knowing she is, per her husband's low-life followers, just a "c**t". I mean in general men who resort to such degrading remarks actually think of all women as "c***s", Ms Obama included.
I do not condone calling Ms Obama such degrading names, though I think her view of the world is sadly twisted by her husband's twisted view of the world. I even feel sorry for her, but then if she knew any better?

How blind can people be?
October 14, 2008 - 07:49 ET by Indiana JoeHonestly, how can anyone defend this? How can the media not be all over it? Has the whole country completely lost their minds?
I read the comments, and the excuses and "yeah, but's" from the Obamabots was just mind-blowing. So I posted the following:
Reading some of the comments here, you'd think people had their heads... well, in the sand. This is way past "hateful" and "inciting" and "bigoted" and "mean-spirited." It has nothing to do with any "issues," for those of you who want to bring up the budget, or Bush, or what McCain supposedly said to his wife, or anything else.
This has to do with the media calls for McCain to stop the "negative" campaigning, yet not saying the same about Obama. The media reports some anonymous person at an open rally shouting "kill 'em" as evidence that McCain/Palin is "encouraging hatred," yet barely mentions these shirts. Obama tells supporters to "get in their faces," yet objects to questions about his past as "racist" and "distractions from the issues."
These are some examples of the Obama campaign being totally hypocritical, and the news media generally doing the same. Obama lies about his agenda, he lies about his record, he lies about his past, and he lies about his associations. Those are facts for anyone who cares to actually check them. There's nothing "hateful" or "racist" about these charges, unless you think that Obama's race gives him a pass on moral and ethical norms. I'd say THAT'S a "racist" attitude.
Any Republican who had Obama's history would have been run out of the primaries by the media's digging for these facts. OTOH, consider the media's "vetting" of Palin. Anything they found out about her was immediately spun negatively, true or not. Face it, the media is completely on the side of one candidate, and completely out to destroy the other. Hatred and lies are being used, if not by Obama, then in his name, and for his cause. Much, MUCH more than by McCain, if at all.
That should bother any "fair-minded" person, no matter which candidate you're "rooting for." This isn't a freaking football game, people. This is our country!
Waste of time, I'm sure, but maybe it will make one person actually think.
Jesus Christ was crucified by "community organizers."

October 14, 2008 - 15:46 ET by mpiamericaTo answer the question about "When's the last time you saw a 'F*ck Clinton" or "Obama is a c*nt" shirts?" I want to point out that neither side is innocent. There are T-shirts being sold in Atlanta, Georgia right now that say "Obama 2008" with a picture of an ape on the front. It has been a hot item in the news there.
It is truly a shame when discussing the views of our potential leaders is replaced by both sides feeling the need to resort to such low tactics.
I wish it would stop.

October 14, 2008 - 16:16 ET by UndercoverConservativeOne side is blatantly obscene. Do you want to explain to a 5 year old why those "bad words" are being waved about?
You've got one city and one shop. I can show you a dozen mail order sites and hundreds of shops selling obscenities that are anti Republican/anti Conservative.
The infatile obscenity is the rule, not an exception. Racist shirts out of the Democrat's southern powerbase are the exception rather than the rule.
Besides, it's been "Chimpy" Bush for eight years. Why does a monkey only now offend? Oh, racial 'sensitivity".."code words"...why rappers can spout "n*gger" 20 times in a single "song" (counted em stuck at a stoplight Friday afternoon pouring out of a mid 80's Caddy) and every white person is a "f**king honkey" but have a white guy play that *exact same song* and it's grounds for brawling and a drive-by shooting, and the hispanic/white/anyone guy goes to jail for "inciting".
This whole "both sides" I keep hearing whenever the Dems/Libs are caught red (or brown from what they're slinging) handed, they say "well they're doing it too" but can't rpovide specifics or find a single incident to justify hundreds or thousands of incidents from their "side". Insults, racism, voter fraud, illegal campaign money-if they can find ONE incident to blame on the conservatives, it "justifies" the evil they started in the first place.
Passive-agressive tactics suck, but that's the Dem party's best weapon.

Palin T Shirts
October 14, 2008 - 15:31 ET by mpiamericaYes, these T-shirts are offensive to most people. However, it is also offensive to most people that Sarah Palin is not being Christian to Obama by accusing him of being connected with terrorists simply because he treated Ayers in a Christian way when he has crossed his path while both of them were involved in doing good things for education and the community.
Christians such as Governor Palin like to express their religion when it is convenient but then shirk Jesus teachings when they want to be mean and nasty to others. Didn't Jesus associate with prostitutes and many other sinners and tell those who were offended by that they should not feel this way and should instead help bring those who have strayed back into the fold? This was one of the centers of his teachings.
This Ayers has apparently worked very hard to serve Americans for many years since what happened a long time ago. Shouldn't such a repentant person be encouraged for changing his ways instead of being demonized by so called Christians who want to be political and moral leaders of our society just as Governor Palin? Isn't the "shame on you" she is showing to Obama for not completely avoiding this man just what Jesus was talking about when they criticized him about being in the company of sinners? Shouldn't she and others be praising Obama for being willing to work on such positive things with a man who has obviously repented and paid back so much to so many?

Not defending Ayers... was talking about Christianity
October 14, 2008 - 16:04 ET by mpiamericaAyers did some pretty nasty stuff... but he hasnt' done anything like that since. This is what he has said since... " "The one thing I don't regret is opposing the war in Vietnam with every ounce of my being.... When I say, 'We didn't do enough,' a lot of people rush to think, 'That must mean, "We didn't bomb enough shit."' But that's not the point at all. It's not a tactical statement, it's an obvious political and ethical statement. In this context, 'we' means 'everyone.'"
Ayers is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education.
I don't know what is true or not about his past but you don't get this standing at that University if you are a terrorist.
You also can't call yourself a Christian and be unforgiving or hateful and lying.
nowhere did it say
October 14, 2008 - 16:38 ET by UndercoverConservativethat you're supposed to allow the unrepentant access to your children, nor empower them to commit evil.
It is the "christian" thing to forgive those who have asked God for forgiveness. Ayers has NOT done so. He's PROUD of setting TIME BOMBS-which are COWARD's devices.
That interview with the man who, as a child, recounts when his father's car was bombed? that device was supposed to go off in the morning-sending the family to be BURNED ALIVE. You think that is a quick death? Or the most horrible way to kill?
It is NOT a Christian's job to forgive those who are proud of such evil-the incompetence of the Weather Underground is the ONLY thing that kept the body count down.
Ayers "regrets not doing more" with his weapons. that is NOT the words of a man who's made his peace before the Christian God.
If these "former 70's radicals" had ANY honor at all, they'd announce their targets and attack only specific individuals while limiting collateral damage. But there were NO specific targets, only generalized HATE. Any "government official" would do, any family harmed a "bonus". Wouldn't have mattered if it was a first year social worker who was in the wrong place, or a young lady visiting her boyfriend in ROTC. Random body count was the goal. If they'd been more than pot smoking hateful losers, they'd have "enjoyed" a Oklahoma City-style success. But since they failed, they've been let off the hook as if they didn't try their best?
Shame on those who defend their ilk and those who take their support from them.
And as for becoming a professor? Let's not forget this guy invited to colleges to give lectures, so obviously standards aren't that high:
http://www.furcommis...
we won't even get into the amount of "professors" either currently under investigation or previously convicted of other vile crimes that didn't seem to hold them back.
"to call an illegal immigrant an "undocumented alien" is the same as calling a streetcorner drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".

Rush is an "unlicensed pharmacist" then?
October 15, 2008 - 05:49 ET by mpiamericaOnce again I must defend the true meaning of being Republican. We were the honest party until the dual standard people invaded who say things like you do above about "calling a streetcorner drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" as an analogy of why we should think badly of someone based on extreme twists of what they have said. Yet, at the same time you show strong expressions of hypocrisy to your point when excusing the likes of Rush Limbaugh who clearly was a drug dealer.
It is an embarassment to those of us who are real Republicans when you spew twisted facts that any thinking person will not buy only to lead others to think of us now as the lying, hating, bashing hypocrits that the rest of us are not.
You do not serve the party or our reputation well by doing this.
mpiamerica
October 15, 2008 - 07:55 ET by Agnosticmpiamerica,
first, I am not a Christian though I have much respect for the ideas taught by this particular religion. Second, when I type the following lines I am in no attacking your personal faith or your level of devotion. However...
1) The true meaning of being Republican is to be decided by each and every person as an individual and the party as a whole only sets an agenda to be followed and interpreted by it's members. Last I check, despite the efforts of the Democrat Socialist we are still a free country and pride ourselves on individualism.
2) No political party has been the 'honest' party but the Republican party has traditionally stood for those tenets that were best for America and has been the strongest supporter of capitalism.
3) Rush was addicted to a pain reliever and though wrong there was never even an accusation from the far left that he was a dealer. This makes you either uninformed or you are posting here under extrememly dubious circumstances.
4) Ayers has not served this country in any way. He has used family money, connections and extortion (IMHO) money to create a system in our school systems whose goal is one of Social Engineering. Check out the new social justice gay school being put into effect in Illinois where all subjects are taught based on how they can be used to show injustice to the 'oppressed'. BTW, I disagree with the Republican platform on homosexuality but Ayres actions here are atrocious as is all his scholastic goals for this country.
5) Being a Christian doesn't mean you continuously turn the other cheek.
6) Obama's relationship with Ayres is one of mutual belief and financial necessity and from all the evidence I have seen, including the two books written by Obama himself (or ghost-written by Ayres) and Obama's own speeches, and not one related to the open forgiveness of a domestic terrorist by a Chritian politician.
7) The best way of representing the Republican party is stating the ideas of the party and explaining how those ideas are superior to the competition. Unfortunately part of this entails stating the oppositions true platform since the media refuses to do their job and tell the public what the parties truly stand for.
Disclosure: I am not a Republican and I am currently registered NPA.
not a christian, how about that NPA?
October 15, 2008 - 09:50 ET by mpiamericaLet me make this clear... I am not a Christian, or a Jew or a Muslim or affiliated with or interested in the being a part of any organized religion or it's strictures. I was merely relating to the professed beliefs of those who have hijacked the prime time attention of the Republican Party in the USA.
My concern is that in the haste to condemn the opponents so many people are latching onto the same rediculous ideas that the Democrats have done for years to promote unwarranted fears. I don't look at people like Ayers with anything but indifference because he has no power either way. There is no real evidence that is not coming from extremists that supports he is involved deeply with Senator Obama... NONE. You cannot simply pick and choose which extremist inspired rumors you want to support and which ones you want to label the truth and be able to keep your credibility.
As an example of what goes on I present this...
you mentioned as a disclosure at the end of your last post that you are not a Republican and are currently registered as an NPA.
If you were known personally by Obama or McCain or one of the VP nominee's some fanatic on either side might soon be coming out and quoting this statement "
The New People's Army (NPA) is the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines. It was formed on March 29, 1969. The Maoist NPA conducts its armed guerrilla struggle based on the strategical line of 'protracted people's war'. "
Although ridiculous it is a good illustration of the reality today of the likes of Hannity, McReilly and Rush's jumping on the ludicrous to pump up fanatical hate which sells their prominence in the day's news.
We should all raise ourselves above this type of very stupid point making. One could argue that introducing that statement about the NPA is not false and is written in history and they would be right but applying it to your connection to the Non Partisan Association would be false. How quickly they could demonize you with such allegations and then justify it later by stating they heard that the reason your group uses those initials was because everyone knows they are secretly connected to the communists from the old NPA.
To further cement my point about the hypocrisy of many I include these statements from Rush himself... "If people are violating the law by doing drugs," he told his radio audience in 1995, "they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
To me a drug dealer is anyone buying or selling illegal drugs... they are dealing in them on either side... apparently Rush felt they were both a part of the crime... until he got caught ... oh, that's right he hired his maid to do be a part of his organization in order to deal him drugs... I call that a drug dealer.

Some liberals consider themselves to be true christians, but they have deleted all the "nots" from the ten commandments in the bible of their universe. It would take forever to list all of the other changes they have made. They are particularily fond of "thou shalt commit adultery and thou shalt steal". I have stopped ustng Google because of their fondness for WIKI. My bio says two things about me and I am firmly committed to both.
Extreme twists? Hypocrisy?
October 15, 2008 - 08:26 ET by Karmampiamarica,
You accuse others of hypocrisy and twisting words yet, in doing so, clearly expose your own.
"...Rush Limbaugh who clearly was a drug dealer."
Technically you would be correct. For a "deal" to be made, you need a buyer and a seller. However, in the practical world, most people equate "dealer" only with the seller. Although it's possible, I wasn't aware of Rush selling drugs. Are you twisting here?
BTW, many of us here serve no party. Most are conservative. Some are Republicans. Many "Republicans" are an embarassment to those of us who are real conservatives. Also, fyi, "calling a streetcorner drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist", is referring to illeagal immigration as in: "An illeagal immigrant being called an undocumented worker". It is part of his tag-line, not part of his comment on the subject at hand
Disagreements aside, I'm glad to see you here at NB.
mpiamerica,
October 15, 2008 - 08:37 ET by R D Helm...it is also offensive to most people that Sarah Palin is not being
Christian to Obama by accusing him of being connected with
terrorists simply because he treated Ayers in a Christian way.
Accusing him? More like pointing out the obvious truth.
So you are saying Obama was not connected to Ayers? That is an interesting assertion given the mounting evidence that it was, in fact, Bill Ayers who penned Obama's first book. But, as you say, they aren't connected. Right.
Even the Crescent News Network acknowledges that Ayers and Obama are practically joined at the hip, and have been for some time.
Shouldn't she and others be praising Obama for being willing to work on
such positive things with a man who has obviously repented and paid
back so much to so many?
Can you produce anything that suggests Ayers has, in any way, "repented" from his terrorist inclinations?
In fact, as recently as 2001, Ayers was expressing "no regrets" for his "love of explosives."
What say you?

What????????
October 15, 2008 - 07:15 ET by expatriotNot sure where you are coming from. As stated fairly succinctly Ayres is an unrepentant terrorist who is still espousing marxist ideology. He wants to radicalize our schools to indoctrinate the children a la the Soviet Union and currently Venezuela.
Where do you get off calling Rush a drug dealer? That is unconcionable. He admitted to being an addict and was never "dealing". If he were a dem and a hollywood personality he would be lauded for admitting and overcoming his addiction.
as stated what?
October 15, 2008 - 10:02 ET by mpiamericaI would be happy to believe all that about Ayers but I need to see proof of it.
Please quote me where I can get such proof such as a book or written statement, etc.
