The following is a report from WOR Radio's Steve Malzberg:After giving the viewers an Obama campaign update, anchor Melissa Russo reported that John McCain took the day off from campaigning. However, she noted that Palin, speaking at a campaign event in the Rockies, accused the junior senator from Illinois of "palling around with terrorists."
The problem is Russo never mentioned William Ayers by name (continued below the fold, photo courtesy Stuff.com.nz).
Instead, Russo identified the subject of Palin's accusation as "a member of a radical 60's group." She also said that he's a man who "Obama has since denounced."
That statement is absolutely untrue.
In the past, Obama has denounced what Ayers did, but he has never said anything to permanently disassociate himself from Ayers.
In fact, in defense of the relationship they have enjoyed, Obama has noted that Ayers and his group planted bombs in this country "40 years ago," as if that makes it alright.
It will be interesting to see just how the rest of the mainstream media handle the reporting of this issue as the McCain camp starts bringing it up more and more.
In fairness, as Sarah Palin alluded to, Saturday's New York Times published a front-page story about the Obama-Ayers connection concluding that a review of records and interviews with a dozen people who know both men "Suggest Mr. Obama has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers."

There needs to be accountabilty for journalist
October 5, 2008 - 01:15 ET by well99They should be some sort of legal action.
doesn't suprise me
October 5, 2008 - 01:33 ET by Jnobleif McCain had once, just ONCE, been in the same room with someone who was part of a white supremacy group we wouldn't hear the end of it for months. Katie Couric would do that annoying head tilt thing and grill him in that passive-aggressive way of hers about it for an hour. Ditto Charlie Gibson. Keith Overbite would blather on for days about the "outrage". Etc etc etc....business as usual from the MSM
The Polls Are Fixed...
October 5, 2008 - 01:33 ET by AgentAmericanEveryone knows the polls are doctored in favor of Obama, so I don't pay any attention to them.
Everyone knows the MSM is working for Obama, so what they say is simply noise..
Everyone knows that Obama is unqualified and unprepared to handle an international crisis abroad...
The MSM is covering up this story and evenutally it will be known to everyone.
This is his Huey P. Newton...and the lying bastards at MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC and their fellow travellers in the Daily Kos, huffingtonpost, and other lefty blogs KNOW about his connections to ACORN and Ayers.
Palin is already in pit bull mode and will sustain some damage on Obama's campaign.
Please Lord, do not let the MSM steal the White House.

Traitor to his country?
October 5, 2008 - 01:57 ET by wdhorningBy not informing the public of the terrorist-like connection, he is failing to help keep our country safe. IMHO, that is a traitorous action.
MSM scum
October 5, 2008 - 02:05 ET by wdhorningIf McCain had had even the slightest association with Timothy McVeigh in say some "volunteer" organizaiton, and even if McCain denounced what Timothy McVeigh did, the MSM would have non-stop, vicious attacks on McCain, night and day.
Simply put, the MSM outlets are terrorist loving organizations, are comitting tyranny upon the citizens of the USA, are otherwise low-life scum for not protecting us from the likes of Obama.
Quite frankly, I think MSM outlets are an "enemy" worse than bin Laden.
What I find of interest is
October 5, 2008 - 02:10 ET by Right2thePointWhat I find of interest is the NYT and local media in NYC seem to be ignoring the elephant in the room.
Obama attended Columbia University in their fair city then worked for a company doing business intelligence newsletters for a short time then community organizer work with NY Public Interest Group.
Now the funny part is when Obama went to Columbia he lived only 1/4 mile from Bill Ayers who was attending Banks College at the time which itself is only 4 blocks from Columbia.
After finishing at Banks Ayers then taught classes at Columbia.
Funny isn't it that the local media had for years a future candidate running for the President of the United States living and working in their fair city and seem to have zero or less interest in doing some background reporting on this time of Obama's life.
The silence is deafening.
I contend that it was this timeframe when the two met and their relationship is of longer standing and deeper than many are willing to admit.

This is starting to read like typical liberal apologentsia. You see it most often at penalty phase in criminal court:
Maybe we should look more closely at the Freudian aspects of Obama's raising. Two memoirs dedicated to identity crisis and a search for a father figure? Does he privately call Ayers, "daddy"? Maybe Bernadine is still lactating.
I'm just sayin'.

You people should trust Ayers

I have always fantasized that Philby was choked
October 5, 2008 - 02:54 ET by R D HelmI have always fantasized that Philby was choked to death when a British agent, who had infiltrated the U.S.S.R., crammed Philby's Order of the Red Banner down his traitorous throat.
LOL-I know it didn't happen that way, but it would have been damned cool if it had.

The Truth Hurts
October 5, 2008 - 09:09 ET by pocomocoIt’s now becoming obvious that, as Palin takes on the mantel of a truth teller as regards Obama’s background, which McCain has thus far refused to do, she is raising liberal ire to new heights.
Liberals don’t like the truth as it goes against their narrative.
What Palin is now doing is subjecting them to a good dose of ‘soccer mom’ disinfectant.
