It was certainly no surprise that NBC's "Saturday Night Live," in its most recent installment, lampooned Thursday's vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin.
However, despite doing a nice job of mocking Biden and host Gwen Ifill -- masterfully played by guest Queen Latifah -- the butt of most of the jokes was cleary Palin who was once again portrayed by Tina Fey (video embedded below the fold, photo courtesy Huffington Post):
Though there were laughs-a-plenty in this skit, the primary target was clearly Palin who was depicted as nothing more than a bumbling village idiot without the slightest grasp of the issues being discussed.
I guess NBC didn't get the memo from CNN that Palin actually spoke at a higher grade level than Biden during this debate.
Go figure.

That being said, I have seen some of the Palin skits on the news the next morning and fey "plays" Palin fairly well, but I can still see her hate ooze out of every pore, making her far, far from Govenor Sarah Palin.
I look forward to seeing more Govenor Sarah Palin in the coming weeks, and God willing at the very least the next four years.

You mean, you made fun of the ANSWER she gave. One, in each interview, both of which were fine until Couric -- clearly storing one special bullet in her holster -- threw a nebulous, off-topic regarding a VP running mate question at Palin which many politicians would have stumbled with, and got the desired fumbling, stuttering answer.
Then, naturally, the MSM ran this day and night ad-nausium on their newcasts and papers, successfully framing Palin as some dunce and suckering the likes of Shawn.

October 5, 2008 - 20:40 ET by shawn228I watched the interview and from what i saw, when she was answering the queston about the bailout, there were no cut scenes, so i do not believe there was clever editing.
I thought it was a srange answer the first time I seen it, and a strange answer the 10th time I seen it. No influence from the msm. I came to the conclusion on my own.
Just like the I came to the conclusion, I thought she won the debate with Biden on my own. I can think for myself.

Then again - maybe they can only understand the 8th grade speak - maybe I'm being too hard on them

October 5, 2008 - 22:31 ET by well99I think it was more to do with her being relaxed and to be truthful she seemed like she was haveing a blast.Sometimes people let their hair down and go with it.I've seen all her interviews.The one which she seemed most relax with was Carl Cameron.Notice how Sara acted then look at Charlie or Katie.Even with Hannity she wasnt as open.

PS I am a long time viewer of the Late Show. I offer you the challenge of how many McCain or Palin jokes there are versus Obama. Leno has turned in to a moral coward. He certainly does not want to be perceived as a "racist". So he has started to suck donkey balls too! I do not watch him much anymore and I am far from a McCain fan.It's tiresome and not funny. It also tends to hide the true facts about Obama's game plan and shortcomings.

October 6, 2008 - 08:01 ET by SamWrong again Balboa - in a perfect world the entertainment industry wouldn't be campaigning for one candidate nor would every republican be a moron in these skits. I'll bet you'd be able to wrap you brain around it if it were slanted the other way. To give another completely different example Balboa, listen to the 2 XM comedy channels for a week or so - republican stupid, republican racist, republican hates the poor, Bush stupid, McCain dumb, etc - all mixed in but rarely if ever are democrats the brunt of the joke. I'm not saying censor, I'm just saying it turns me, my wife, and some friend off and we avoid such programming when it's not balanced out a little - kind of like that knee slapper Jon Stewart. Like I said 3 weeks in a row of Sarah is stupid skits is getting old. One satirical magazine cover about Obambi (really meant to paint conservatives as intolerant anyway) and liberals are screaming their heads off.
