I have no idea who made this video, but it marvelously uses a song from the hit Disney film "The Lion King" to expose what's behind the media's bloodthirsty attacks on Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin (h/t Copius Dissent via NBer stratman):
Absolutely delicious.
*****Update: After a request from me, the creator of this video has offered some insights about him and it...
Yes, its simply the German version of the Lion King and I tried to match the word sounds to English as if they were really saying these things in German.Yes, it does.
Advocate1234 made an awesome DNC "War room" video that was from a WW2 movie (in German) that he added English subtitles to. It made it look like the Generals were arguing about what to do about the Palin pick. This inspired me to try out the same website "Overstream". The site is very easy to use (I have never made a video before) and easily allows you to add subtitles to any video you find on YouTube. I looked for something in German and remembered that scene from Lion King- which I found on YouTube. Advocate1234 was nice enough to reproduce it for me on YouTube where its getting lots of hits and good comments.
Like Todd Palin, I am a " stay at home" father with 4 beautiful kids and a wonderful hardworking wife. [...]
A few notes on the vid itself:
-The crescent moon at the end was in the original video, it was not added by me.
-The "Mommies belong in the kitchen" line by the goose-stepping media types seems to really get people fired up.

It even sounds like some of the German (?) is phonetically similar to the subtitles.
Hilarious, because it's true! And everyone is seeing it.
That's what missing when the left tries something like this; verisimilitude. A word they should study.

Well, are you sure the subtitles are the translation, or did the creator just take a video of that song done in German and add his own humorous subtitles?

Agreed - just look at VIDEOSIFT's 'top 15'
September 14, 2008 - 12:34 ET by SlyrrMedia bias indeed. Videosift started off as another site where internet browsers could see funny videos and other profiles of original work. But it's devolved into yet another left-wing springboard to smear the Right and Republicans with videos that are edited to show only the left's point of view, and a place where left wingers can congregate to post comments about how much they hate Republicans.
For proof, just go to videosift. Don't bother looking at any of the vids, just check the column on the right side of the page which has their 'top fifteen' videos.
Of the fifteen links posted there, ELEVEN of them are anti-McCain/Palin or Pro-Obama videos. And the current #1? "Matt Damon actually sounding Smart on Palin". Predictably, the videos are linked to viewer comments who fawn over how brilliant Damon and the Obama voters are, and how anyone who votes for McCain/Palin is a stupid moron idiot.

Sarah Palin Meet John Doe
September 14, 2008 - 13:33 ET by Redrowan2000
I remember watching as a youngster the Frank Capra production of "Meet John Doe" with Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck. The movie was about politics in America. Edward Arnold played the political powerbroker who controlled the press and all other media. He shut down anything that Cooper had to say and had him portrayed as daft or criminal. This all accomplished by his control of the media. I have never in my life seen a closer analogy as to what is going on today with Sarah Palin. Whoever gives these journalists like Gibson etc their orders has them well in hand. I only hope the people realize it before it's too late. Did Barack Obama get even 1/4 the scrutiny that Governor Palin is getting. The amazing thing is the contempt that Gibson feels for her showed through the whole interview. This meanspiritedness that dominates the democrat party is now in full swing in the mainstream media. I bet if you pulled Gibsons lapel back he'd have an Obama campaign button. But don't wear it on the front no, that wouldn't be professional.
I wasn't going to vote for McCain but with the utter contempt the mainstream media shows in this country for journalistic standards and fairplay is really making me consider him again. Thanks Charlie Gibson

I really don't get this
September 14, 2008 - 13:44 ET by TheGingermanI really don't get this 'the media's making blood thirsty attacks' strategy. It's starting to get really whiney and extremely limp-wristed.
Palin isn't what they tried to sell her as. Asking questions about inconsistencies between what she has said and what she's actually done does not constitute an 'attack' in my mind.
She's running for VICE PRESIDENT. She deserves the deepest level of scrutiny possible.
How is pointing out that her Bridge To Nowhere claim is a lie, an attack? Those are the facts. The more she repeats the lie, the more she will be called out for it. Makes sense to me.
Which means, this video makes no sense.

Gingerman....there are many ways to respond to your reaction....
September 14, 2008 - 21:57 ET by dydx...and there are different reasons I can imagine why many of us are pissed off over this whole MSM crap.
One reason is the outrageous inconsistency / hypocricy the MSM have in regards to reporting "truths."
You say "How is pointing out that her Bridge To Nowhere claim is a lie, an attack? Those are the facts. The more she repeats the lie, the more she will be called out for it. Makes sense to me." Well...how egregious a "lie" is that claim? Is it that big a deal, really? Let's say it is a big deal....but how does it compare to Obama saying that he doesn't know much about Ayers--"a guy that lives in my neighborhood"--, or Obama not knowing about Rezco's corruptness, or Obama not knowing about Wright's and Phlegars(sp?) white hatred, etc....?
Come on....you have Palin being initially in favor of an earmark project that she ultimately refused and then "bragged" about refusing it without any reference to her being for it....that's all you got? Honestly...compare that with Obama being with a church for twenty years...a church whose pastor also espouses his views in a magazine regulary published by the church,..and then claiming that the hateful, anti-white racist teachings that were exposed were somethings that he never knew about. That is a big deal.
Palin: guilty* of puffing her chest out and overstating her bona fides
Obama: guilty of attending a racist church for twenty years and lying about not knowing how racist it is
Palin: guilty* of trying to get rid of a sleazebag vile cop who tasered his 11 yr old stepson and called it training, and firing the high-level official who stood in her way
Obama: guilty of being closely associated with an America hating terrorist who was involved in the planting of bombs and would have planted at least one more nail bomb execept that it blew up and killed three of his buddies when they were trying to put it together. One of those bombs did kill a policeman.
See gingerman? There is a huge disparity over press coverage. And if by not brushing off when outrageous example after outrageous example come to bear someone like you calls us limp wristed and shrill...well...so be it.
....better than being a partisan ostrich.

Ginger, You really don't
September 14, 2008 - 16:45 ET by hydrodynDMGinger,
You really don't get what this site is about, do you. The issue isn't whether Palin should be scrutinized, it's why the MSM hasn't shown that level of scrutiny with Obama or Biden.
Just to take an example from today's posts, how many times has the NTY published four stories critical of Obama in one day?
You mention the "Bridge to Nowhere" as an example of a topic that should be pointed out to show that Palin is a "liar". OK, where have all the MSM stories about Obama's 2003 abortion vote been and the fact that he "lied" about that?
Why is it that the MSM refused to touch the Rev. Wright story even though rumors of his kinds of sermons had been around for months, but five days after Palin was announced, the MSM had reporters crawling all over Alaska like cockroaches looking for any evidence that Palin might be part of some unconventional church.
I could, of course, go on. The point is, the media have not shown the kind of scrutiny toward Obama that they have toward Palin. Given that, then yes, the MSM's actions are rightfully called "attacks".
Palin Coverage Bloodthirsty? Heck Yeah! Let me count the ways
September 14, 2008 - 18:40 ET by L.N. SmitheeTheGingerman wrote: I really don't get this 'the media's making blood thirsty attacks' strategy.
It's not "strategy." It's a fact.
Governor Sarah Palin came into the national consciousness a little over two weeks ago, and she has been targeted for political death by any means necessary by the same entities that breathed life into Barack Obama.
I could list more reasons, but I don't have all day. But my point is made. And if you think this is all about questions about the bridge and earmarks, congratulations for getting Wi-Fi in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
Even some Democrats are getting wise to the damage the MSM is doing to itself. My life spans five decades and I've been a news junkie during four of them. Never in my life have I witnessed such a disingenuous dogpile on one person in such a short time. And I double dog dare you to name another such person. Try. You can't, so you probably won't.
It's starting to get really whiney and extremely limp-wristed.
Ruh-roh! What's that, Gingerman? An anti-gay slur?

I really don't get this "McCain won in a landslide" strategy. They more they repeat it, the more I will call them out for it.
Since it is a lie that McCain should be president and it is a double lie that Palin should be vice president, then it can't be true that they were really "elected". That would be a triple lie. Those are the facts.
Pointing out that Obama is not the president is to ignore the fact that he lives in a big mansion and signs stuff, and is out in the driveway checking and rechecking his tire pressure and giving press conferences to squirrels. (They do press him though!) Makes sense to me.
Which means, "President McCain" makes no sense.
Wonderful! Kind of sums
September 14, 2008 - 13:53 ET by ddmWonderful!
Kind of sums it up to this point anyhow. Can you imagine what they are preparing? Perhaps Senate hearings are already being planned for Governor Palin. Pelosi cannot afford to have a powerful conservative woman in the White House, that would look bad.
