If you wanted a better understanding of why conservatives always beat liberals in a debate -- and why Barack Obama won't dare be interviewed by Fox News's Sean Hannity -- you to need to see Chuck Norris wipe the floor with Arianna Huffington.
In what almost turned into a free-for-all on Wednesday's "Larry King Live," Norris demonstrated how little Huffington understands about the Iraq war, while proving that liberal elites like her, because of their position, are allowed to say and write whatever they want, regardless of factual inaccuracy, and do so with total impunity.
With that as pretext, prepare yourself for this well-deserved and truly delicious smackdown of one of the nation's foremost, holier-than-thou, liberal media elites (video embedded right):
ARIANNA HUFFINGTON: ...if you are so concerned about the amount of money we're spending, you should certainly be concerned about the war in Iraq, because that's $350 million a day.
So would you at least say that it's time to bring our troops home, since, according to John McCain, victory is in sight?
CHUCK NORRIS: Well, let me ask you one question, Arianna, since you're very rich.
How many pages are there in the IRS tax code?
HUFFINGTON: This has nothing to do with the question (INAUDIBLE)...
NORRIS: Well, yes it does. I just asked...
HUFFINGTON: (INAUDIBLE).
NORRIS: I'm just asking you...
HUFFINGTON: (INAUDIBLE) -- to ask because every time you...
NORRIS: It's 66,498...
HUFFINGTON: Every time you talk about the...
NORRIS: ...pages, Arianna.
HUFFINGTON: Every time you talk about...
NORRIS: And who is the...
HUFFINGTON: ...(INAUDIBLE)...
NORRIS: And who knows what's in that tax code?
You're the high priced tax accounts like what you have.
LARRY KING: No, but her question was about the money spent on Iraq. It was a fair question, Chuck.
Isn't that a lot of money?NORRIS: It's a lot of money, but we're spending a lot of money everywhere. We're spending a lot of money on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And we're spending a lot of money that will probably wind up paying off the car dealers -- the cars and the airlines. I mean we're bailing everybody out.
And we can debate the question about whether we should be in Iraq or not Iraq, but we are there and we've got to take care of the situation there. I've been there twice, Arianna. I've done two tours over there. I know what's going over there. You haven't been there.
HUFFINGTON: This is really the most absurd response, because (INAUDIBLE) been to Iraq, I'm sorry to say, makes no difference compared to the fact that...
NORRIS: Yes, it does.
HUFFINGTON: ...if the president...
NORRIS: I've talked to the troops over there.
HUFFINGTON: If the president and John McCain and...
NORRIS: I've talked to troops.
HUFFINGTON: ...Sarah Palin...
NORRIS: And they believe that we should stay there until we finish the job, you know?
HUFFINGTON: Well, there are many, many...
NORRIS: You would pull tail and run.
HUFFINGTON: You know, there are many, many...
NORRIS: You know...
HUFFINGTON: ...people in the military (INAUDIBLE)...
NORRIS: But that's your liberal view, Arianna. You're so liberal.
HUFFINGTON: Chuck, you know what, let me just finish the sentence.
There are many people in the military who are deeply concerned about what's happening to our military. We are destroying our military. Suicide rates...
NORRIS: Not the military people I've talked to.
HUFFINGTON: Suicide rates...
NORRIS: I've talked to all the military...
HUFFINGTON: You know...NORRIS: ...commanders over there.
HUFFINGTON: You know what...
NORRIS: ...and they don't feel that way, Arianna.
KING: Well, you're...
HUFFINGTON: If I were a member of the John McCain campaign, I would accuse you of sexism right now because you keep interrupting me.
NORRIS: Well, why?
HUFFINGTON: So let me just finish.
NORRIS: Because I'm backing Sarah Palin so I'm sexist?HUFFINGTON: Let me just finish...
KING: I think, Chuck...
HUFFINGTON: Let me just finish one sentence.
KING: Chuck, I'm...
HUFFINGTON: ...and this is that what's happening to the American military is something that all of us need to be concerned about, as is the fact that...
KING: OK. Chuck...
HUFFINGTON: ...we are absolutely spending trillions of dollars.
KING: Chuck, if you haven't endorsed McCain and Palin tonight, you got me lost.
NORRIS: Well, the thing is, I'm leaning in that direction.
KING: I mean I have no hint that you're going to endorse Obama.
NORRIS: No. No.
KING: No, I gather that.
NORRIS: He's not our leader. No. You know what. And I think the majority of the people will realize that. When the time comes to vote, I think the people will decide and know that that's not the man to lead our country.
Now THAT'S entertainment!

September 13, 2008 - 16:06 ET by Lame CherryBabe Huffington makes the mistake in hiding on her site and banning people like me that all she says is Alex Baldwin vile and Jamie Lee Curtis stupid written in stone.
Then she goes out into the real world and finds one lone Conservative who knows on an INTELLECTUAL level to defeat Babe Huffington without the Obama smears.
Babe Huffington probably was thrilled over being with a real man for the first time in years.
As the saying goes, Chuck Norris' empty seat is all that has to show up in a liberal debate to trounce them.

September 14, 2008 - 00:56 ET by mostlymoderateThat is pretty low of the libtards. Besides, how long did this world get along without computers or email? I don't blame McCain for not wasting his time sorting through junk-emails, blue-screens, Vista pop-ups, virus-warnings, slow connection speeds, etc etc. If I were a Senator I know I would be having my secretary do ALL the computing crap while I was out making decisions. I know the ONE THING Republicans need to win in November.
September 13, 2008 - 16:14 ET by smartestmaninamericaIt's the one thing we haven't had in this party since Reagan and Gingrich. The one thing we finally got back with the pick of Palin. The one thing that finally breathed life back into a dying party.
That one thing is:
Balls.
Oh wait, that's two things (but I digress). For the last 8 years, ever since "compassionate conservatism", we have been looking at the utter p*ssification of the Republican brand.
McCain took a step towards changing that by choosing Sarah Palin. The question is, will we go all the way?

Big balls!!!
September 13, 2008 - 20:19 ET by kdizzydazeIt's great stuff to see. As for the "compassionate conservative" moniker we have been saddled with, it is ridiculous because by saying it or even mentioning it, it's as if conservatives weren't compassionate before. That is a crock and I will tell you this from personal experience - when I was younger and times were tight and I needed to work extra hours to make ends meet, it was never - NEVER -- an issue. My employers were always happy to have me work extra hours and when I did that and the quality of my work showed, pay raises and promotions followed. Bizarre, huh??
Huffington is a skank and the liberal left and their faux concern for the military will only hurt them as the election draws near. And you are right about the p*ssification of the party with that moniker. Glad to see it is finally being shucked off.

September 13, 2008 - 16:27 ET by mostlymoderateHuffington is the epitome of liberal elite. Her and Andrea Mitchell should get a room. Huff - EX-Conservative
September 13, 2008 - 19:40 ET by Secret ConservativeI find it hard to believe that Arianna Huffington USED to be a conservative. Maybe what happened is that the conservatives realized what a complete IDIOT she is, and didn't give her the kind of respect and publicity she seeks, so she crossed the aisle and went to the party that worships airhead idiots with lots of money and holds them up as "brilliant seers of truth" who have a lot of money to give to liberal campaigns. This woman has absolutely NO credentials, is a limousine liberal of the worst kind, and nobody would give a flying fig about what she has to say if she hadn't married and divorced at least one very wealthy man and took a boatload of his money.

Did you ever watch NET when it was on, Paul Weyrich had the network for a while...it was a real conservative network, I wished it could of made it past three years, a lot of people we see now got some of there start there...sarc was the only other person here that I knew of that watched it too...I used to call in a lot, Lord I wished that station would of made it.
The reason I even bring this up, way back when her husband was running in Ca. she was supposed to come on and talk about her new show she was going to call Beat the Press it was supposed to be conservative based, blah blah blah and on NET...Paul kept waiting for the live interview, (she had been on the show on and off for quite awhile showing what a conservative gal she was...yeah right) she never made it, was supposed to call in, then her husband had to call and make excuses for her, I felt sorry for him at the time, they were pretty pathetic excuses at the time...now we all knew later there was so much more going on behind the scenes...with her and her husband...
She never looked back after that...she went with where she always was, a leftist political whore who loves her mug in the spotlight.

I imagine I was one of the few in this county who did get it, at the time we had a big satellite out here, couldn't get cable out here, still can't, plus the likes of Dish and DirectTV weren't here quite yet...so let me tell you I had a blast with what you could get with that dinosaur...I still miss some of the benefits, regardless of the so-called hardships at the time, especially where it was located during the winter and how far you had to go o sweep it off, no matter how high the snow got, no matter if it was three in the morning, with flashlight in mouth while you seeing what you were doing while digging snow out from underneath even if you eventually had to dig a path directly under the satellite dish it's self so it could turn, global warming and all.
Plus the memory you had to have to just turn each channel and network...
What is sad about his show/network is that had he just started a few years later..I think it would have been huge...there was a lot of tears and heart-break watching it make it, then not, then make it, plus he spent a lot of money on sending reporters to Indonesia/China if memory serves me right regarding the illegal money with Clintons and their ties ect...I will shut-up now because obviously I could go on forever...it was a sad day when that went down...McCain's economic adviser who you see on TV all the time got her start there, she used to be Nancy Mitchell (I think it is Pfuatenhaeur now, believe me I butchered the name), married to Dan Mitchell who still is on segments now and then on the networks...it used to be called Mitchell's in the Morning..it was great.
The pollster Kelly-Anne Fitzpatrick got her start there...there are others..plus they had great shows...I stayed there a lot of the time.
Sad day when conservatives lost it...they had a lot of what is called fair and balanced opposition on...it really was fair and balanced.

September 13, 2008 - 21:58 ET by Tom in NCWhen a person in a debate is an obvious simpleton as Arianna then not only is it necessary not to allow them to complete a sentence, it is absolutely essential since their thoughts bring nothing to the debate to start with.

Iraq Money
September 13, 2008 - 20:28 ET by usbeefIf the money wasn't going towards fighting terrorism and liberating 35 million people it would simply be wasted. If the Iraq war never existed all the money that has gone into it would never find its way funding anything useful and it would never find its way back into our pockets. It would get thrown into a fire by democrats who make a living off of finding new ways to waste our money on purpose every day.
FDR never intended social security to be a program with benefits, he just disguised it to look that way. It was created on purpose to place another tax burden on the american people so that we all have to live with a more tyrannical government.
What is done with our money is as good as taking it to a "money landfill" and burying it forever. The governments primary purpose is to defend it's people and yet the liberals want to use money spent in a war to point the finger at republicans as if we are partly to blame? Arianna is a mindless liberal drone.

How many "have been dismantled by this administration?" Again I don't know because it hasn't been talked about. Are the successes of this administration also too top secret to tell us about? Norris is an idiot, Ari would have been mutch better to show.
September 14, 2008 - 00:14 ET by ImAllRightWatching Norris was just embarrassing. He's a fool and the fact that we tout this moron around as a conservative just makes all of us look like morons. He had his little prepared "gotcha" point but after that it was just "You're such a liberal!" - "so liberal!" blah blah blah. That wasn't how you won debates when I was in college, or even middle school for that matter.
Noel, I don't know how you score debates but that is not how we need to be winning them. Had Arianna ever been to Iraq she could have thrown out the very same "Well I talk to the troops too," BS that Norris brought, which is all he had.
Luckily Ari was there, an actual informed personality. Highlight his points next time, they may be less blustered (which alot of our fellow Republicans seem to love lately) but at least he can be clear and concise and not have to throw out some tired "You liberal fool" type of line.
Norris is such a fool. He had no answers that entire debate, only crap talking points and phony outrage. He was no better than Huffington usually is, and on the night of these interviews he was the worst of the bunch.
Why would you highlight this idiot and his dearth of knowledge when Fleischer is sitting right there?

What Gets Me...
September 14, 2008 - 12:52 ET by Wildcatter1980...is that liberals and the left wingnuts are never, ever made to defend their views, never asked to cite the facts behind what they so often assert.
With over 66K type-written pages, the tax code should be seen as a major liability to the efficient use of money whether in the government or the private sector. The cost of compliance is likely far more than the amount of money being spent on our military which is a small percentage of the overall federal budget.
If Larry King were a "tough" interviewer--I know, I know, that's an oxymoronic phrase--he would have jumped on that and challenged Ms Huffing-n-puffington that if she was interested in reducing government spending would she support a major tax system overhaul. Alas, that did not happen.
If memory serves, Chuck endorsed Mike Huckabee during the primaries. Huck was the only candidate who came out for the "FairTax" proposal which is the elimination of all federal income taxes as well as payroll taxes in return for implementing a national progressive inclusive retail sales tax. Thus, it is understandable why Chuck would know what he does about the current tax code.
Why is Gov. Palin afraid
September 15, 2008 - 10:51 ET by j. frank wilsonto be interviewed by just about anyone?
This week she is scheduled to be "interviewed" by Sean Hannity - who is not a journalist, but an agenda-driven commentator who campaigned for Bush-Chaney and openly opposes Sen. Obama.
She won't even appear on Hannity & Colmes - is she afraid of little Allen?
It's obvious why Sen. Obama has no interested in being "interviewed" by Mr. Hannity. He doesn't wish to have a conversation with people - he either wants to suck up to right-wingers or brow-beat, interrupt, belittle, and yell at progressives. Why would anyone wish to be part of that?
Haven't you heard Mr. Hannity use the old right-wing trick of cutting off a caller's voice and keep on talking all rough and tough - when that person then has no way to respond? Makes him look like he's winning the argument - but if you listen you realize the callers don't ever respond. Why? Cause they're cut off.

September 15, 2008 - 11:14 ET by CortillaenYeah, after being twisted and distorted, not to mention edited to pieces, by ABC, I'm sure she's afraid of Colmes. </sarc>
Seems like you just really dislike Hannity, Wilson. Fact of the matter, if he never shut up the some of the windbags who call in, he'd never get a word in edgewise. You know what would be really bad? He could just turn his show into an echo chamber by never letting any liberals on the air! It'd be just like a right-wing Air America! It'd also be just as inane.
Last, and in a touch of irony, you managed to shoot yourself in the foot here: "He doesn't wish to have a conversation with people" Were that actually true, the show you mentioned just before, Hannity & Colmes, a show that regularly has on people of all sorts, would not exist.

Actually, what J Frank does
September 15, 2008 - 11:34 ET by BDActually, what J Frank does not get is that guys like Limbaugh and Hannity THRIVE on their liberal callers. The show's interest level always rises and makes better radio when a liberal calls in. Conflict always sells interest.
Unlike what the liberal left on Air America never realized, echo chambers of guys calling in to agree with the host is BORING.
And Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and Ingraham understand this, to the point that liberals usually get higher priority on the call screener list than conservatives.

Of course, that would also land me an F... the same grade Huffy gets in basic journalism.
