Is MSNBC Feud More Serious Than Management Admits?

As more and more media outlets begin to notice the feud going on between some of MSNBC's highest profile on air personalities, a question begins rising to the surface: just how serious is it?

Although the network's President Phil Griffin told the Wall Street Journal he wasn't concerned, others at MSNBC say this situation is much worse than management is letting on.

As reported by Jossip Wednesday (emphasis added, h/t Johnny Dollar, photo courtesy Jossip):

[I]n the past few hours we've spoke [sic] to a number of 30 Rock staffers in Denver, New York, and Washington — some of whom thought it more productive to speak to us than attend to the on-going live DNC coverage — and the common wisdom is: 1) Nobody can believe how much Keith Olbermann is getting away with, even if he does draw ratings; 2) As an Olbermann protege, Rachel Maddow is attracting negative feelings from staffers, since she stays mum on many of these catfights, but "there's still time" to represent; 3) MSNBC head Phil Griffin is alienating staffers by publicly defending Olbermann while privately bashing him, and it's left many wondering when that will leak (oops); 4) MSNBC publicist Jeremy Gaines appears increasing [sic] stressed out and can be seen "shaking" with a phone attached to his ear dealing with reporters; 5) You don't want to run into Chris Matthews anytime soon, especially en route to the bathroom, because he has zero pleasant things to say right now; 6) Joe Scarborough is definitely stressed, but he's managed to calm down a bit today and can be seen laughing and gabbing; 7) None of this is helping ratings, with MSNBC scoring the lowest numbers against Fox News and CNN in convention coverage.

Fascinating.

Noel

It is not going to break my heart if this whole bunch explodes. I am sick of Keefy and Chrissy. Heck I am even sick of Joe Smoe aggreing with the liberals so much. MSNBC has become a big joke when it comes to objectivity.

If pro is the opposite of con what is the opposite of progress? Congress!

Bring Back Jack!

I've said it before . . . MSN-BO, oops, C, wouldn't be getting away with this crap if Jack Welch was still in control of GE.

Other Worries

NoMore. Please, poor Jack has enough to worry about with his various divorce agreements and pre-nups.

Keith

What you want to bet he cowers in the bathtub next week?

This fits his MO.  Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Reprimands all around.  They have become too often the story, drowning out their own message.

GE has got to know any spike in their ratings is "THE VIEW" redux with Keith playing Rosie

NBC keeps repeating its old mistakes.  Let's get Imus in there.  Oh, yeah, it's been done.

John Gibson, on his radio

John Gibson, on his radio show, keeps talking about the need to launch a Black Ops raid on 30 Rock to rescue Joe Scarsborough before he becomes the next scalp on Keefy's ever-straining belt.

FWIW, I think this is yet another example of what always happens to Keefy in his TV gigs: He eventually wears out his welcome in always the most strained, tension-filled ways until eventually something snaps, and Keefy's famous vitriol pours out over his former bosses as they shove his ever-enlarging {donkey} out the door while trying to make it look like it was Keefy's idea the entire time.

Meanwhile, it does make a great circus of the absurd.

Gibson Pullitzer

Gibson deserves a Pullitzer for his radio segment that launched the legend of BATHTUB BOY

There is a war happening at MSNBC

And it reflects the war happening in the Democrat party. It is essentially the left (Clintons) vs. the far left (Barack/Olbermann).  The far left has taken over the Democratic Party and it looks like they are winning the war to take over MSNBC.

Thomas Jefferson once said, 'We should never judge a president by his age, only by his works.' And ever since he told me that, I stopped worrying. - Ronald Reagan

The thing is..... they

The thing is..... they should just be reporting on the coverage of the convention. Period. Keeping out their own personal feelings.  Isn't that what "journalists" are supposed to do.  Oh that's right, they are journalists, they are liberal hacks

Whoa, Nellie! Do you mean

Whoa, Nellie! Do you mean that MSNBC, that network of leftists, by leftists, for leftists - the private reserve of Obama courtiers Olbermann and Matthews, is losing in the ratings for the DNC to FoxNews, the supposedly right wing network that only right wingers watch? That's absolutely delicious! Seconds, please?

Lots of fun

It's amazing that when the Democratic Party is having its big convention, its de facto mouthpiece is last in the raitings again.  You know these shills were expecting big ratings & they are bigger than usual, but still they are dead last.

By the way, Fox's 411 has a few paragraphs in today's column on this also.  An insider at MSNBC said it's something akin to the Lord of the Flies.

MSNBC

I would love to comment on this but I really do not care to watch a bunch of crap.  MSNBC could go dark and how many people would notice????

Noel, it makes me wish I

Noel, it makes me wish I had cable and watched TV. But I don't think it is very serious, I mean how serious can a clown-fight get?

Big Story

What is funny about this is that the infighting has become the big story of this convention. The Dems are on stage trying to get their message across and there is a brawl in the stands that is taking attention away from the show. Even the loons outside can't hold a candle to the shananigans in the news booths.

You know, it's the same in

You know, it's the same in the private sector; you work with someone who is a complete A-hole. They alienate everyone around them, they are not team players, etc.  AND THEY GET PROMOTED!  It's always been one of life's great mysteries to me.

I liken this crap with KO to this.  And you never can figure out what the heck makes them such a value to the company.  I'll never understand this.

KO's a mentally ill A-hole.  Horrible.

It's the laws of physics.

It's the laws of physics. Like attracts like. There are plenty like him around. It's poetic justice. I do not feel sorry for his co-workers. Having to work with him is payback for all of their lying liberal ways. They are getting what they deserve.

"we should immediately give every working family in America a
$1,000 energy rebate, and we should pay for it with part of the record

Olbermann, Stay Home

There is ZERO reason for him to be anchoring the RNC.  Zero.  Let Scarborough and Matthews do it.  Scarborough and Mika, anybody.  Olbermann adds nothing and wouldn't say a positive thing with a gun held to his head.  You expect "HOMERUN!" after any speech in St. Paul?

Too bad no one inside the

Too bad no one inside the RNC can picket in front of the NBC/MSNBC booth(s?).

Probably Is

Keith Odorman, like most other liberal elites, comes off as a pushy, self-centered bully and is probably the biggest jerk on television at this time. So yeah, I can see somebody finally getting fed up and standing up to the guy. Totally. Did the same thing myself back in 11th grade. And like my bully, Odorman is probably just not used to people telling him NO, STOP, and I WILL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS IF YOU DON'T QUIT IT AND DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME AFTERWARDS.

hahah

I watched the post convention coverage last night jsut to see if anyone would get murdered on set. lol. I could only take about 5 minutes of these two morons.

The Kos kids want Joe fired.  They love BTB band the Maddow. And that's what they are going to get. A (more)lefty only shill cable channel. Does MSNBC not know thay have become the laughing stcok of even some on the left?

It's fun to watch MSNBC having a train wreck before my eyes. (Thanks to Newsbusters and olbermannwatch) 'cause I can't watch them. I hate Olbermann more than any other American I can think of.

I read this site every day. It's no. 1 on my blog links.

Thanks for all you people do!

Olbermann and Maddow are

Olbermann and Maddow are sisters...I think

Fascinating?

Schadenfreude.

Don't end the chaos

Actually I don’t want the NBC internal chaos to end. And, more is better. MSNBC is nothing more than NBC executives getting to say what they really think without having to take credit. Most people don’t take KO serious or give him a second thought. They take him for what he is, a guy that wears lavender ties and has deep emotional problems when it comes to women. However, Matthews is another issue. For some foolish reason the MSM thinks this guy has something to offer. I’ll live a lifetime and never figure that one out. But, when he’s pissed and kicking holes in the studio walls, that’s good. It reminds him of just how far he has fallen and what he has become over the past five years, an angry white Democrat that has no standing.

I'm Not Satisfied....Yet....

I won't be satisfied until there's a full-blown fistfight between MSNBC [lack-of-]talent.

The movie will be called

The movie will be called "Wrists of Fury".
