He is a world class idiot.  I read today that he speaks with Obama 2 times per week to coach him.  Why am I not surprised?

This smarmy leftwing tool Clooney has never made a good movie and this will be another waste of his money.  Heaven forbid Hollywood makes a honest movie about our brave troops who have liberated Iraq from a brutal dictator and his evil sons!

producing another movie that no one will watch (and throwing more of his money down a rathole) is appealing.

The only downside is the above-mentioned anti-American propaganda value. 

A few months back, I heard a now-forgotten lib pundit address the issue of the financial failures of all of these anti-Iraq war movies, by saying it was because "the American people are apathetic about the war".  I wanted to grab him by the ears and say "No, it is because we can't trust Hollywood anymore".

I still think of Mel Gibson and get a chuckle even today about how he "was never going to work in this town again." After the small fortune he made on The Passion, he deserves a rest. It shows how shallow and out of touch Follywood still is.

So let Looney Clooney spend the money. I'm sure there's some deserving Follywood actors that could use a job and I'd love to see ClooneyTunes on the bread line.

You are correct, this movie will lose money domestically, but will make scads overseas where the "hate America crowd" constantly seeks validation.  And Clooney is willing to provide it, even if it is a financial loss at home.

Here is a big hint for Hollywood. Wanna make a movie that Americans will go see, and wanna make it about a current event in the GWOT?

If you do, then here are three people that I guarantee have a story to tell that I would go see....

Col. James H. Coffman Jr.  

He received the Distinguished Service Cross for his role in leading Iraqi Special Police Commandos through a 5 ½-hour battle against insurgents trying to overrun an Iraqi police station.  When an enemy round shattered his left shooting hand, damaging his M4 rifle in the process, Coffman bandaged it and continued fighting with AK-47 rifles he collected from commando casualties until each ran out of ammunition. He also passed out ammunition to the uninjured commandos with the help of the remaining commando officer; when all that remained were loose rounds, Coffman held magazines between his legs and loaded the rounds with his good hand.

When a second commando unit arrived four hours after the fight began, Coffman led them to his position and continued to fight, refusing to be evacuated for treatment until the battle was over.  Coffman supervised the evacuation of injured commandos and led another group of commandos to the police station to make contact with the Iraqi Police inside. Once the additional air and ground support elements began attacking buildings the enemy forces were hiding in, Coffman went back to his initial position to check on the injured commandos and then agreed to be evacuated for treatment. Twenty-five insurgents were killed and dozens injured.

Master Sergeant Donald R. Hollenbaugh -

On April 26, 2004, the Special Forces soldier was with a group of about three dozen Marines on the outskirts of Fallujah. They had taken over two houses in front of American lines when they were attacked by more than 300 enemy fighters. The attack killed one Marine and wounded 25 others, leaving few American defenders. At one point, according to an account in the Fayetteville Observer, "Hollenbaugh was the only man standing. ‘I was just running from hole to hole putting a few rounds here and there to make them feel like they were dealing with more than one guy,’ he said." According to his citation, "Hollenbaugh personally eliminated multiple enemy-controlled weapon positions," preventing the enemy from overrunning the American troops. Vice President Cheney presented Hollenbaugh with the Distinguished Service Cross on June 10, 2005.

 1LT Chontosh's Navy Cross :

For extraordinary heroism as Combined Anti-Armor Platoon Commander, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM on 25 March 2003. While leading his platoon north on Highway I toward Ad Diwaniyah, First Lieutenant Chontosh's platoon moved into a coordinated ambush of mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and automatic weapons fire. With coalition tanks blocking the road ahead, he realized his platoon was caught in a kill zone. He had his driver move the vehicle through a breach along his flank, where he was immediately taken under fire from an entrenched machine gun. Without hesitation, First Lieutenant Chontosh ordered the driver to advance directly at the enemy position enabling his .50 caliber machine gunner to silence the enemy. He then directed his driver into the enemy trench, where he exited his vehicle and began to clear the trench with an M16A2 service rifle and 9 millimeter pistol. His ammunition depleted, First Lieutenant Chontosh, with complete disregard for his safety, twice picked up discarded enemy rifles and continued his ferocious attack. When a Marine following him found an enemy rocket propelled grenade launcher, First Lieutenant Chontosh used it to destroy yet another group of enemy soldiers. When his audacious attack ended, he had cleared over 200 meters of the enemy trench, killing more than 20 enemy soldiers and wounding several others. By his outstanding display of decisive leadership, unlimited courage in the face of heavy enemy fire, and utmost devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Chontosh reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

 Anybody wanna bet that Salim Hamdans movie comes out before these three deserving Biopics?

In George's movie, this guy will be a peace loving, flower-planting, volunteer ambulance driver untill his family is viciously savaged by Desert Storm thugs.  George's last movie about the evil US oil industry only broke even with domestic box office, but made about $40 million overseas.
