Barack Obama's. "I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views were respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified," Clinton, D-N.Y., said at a California fundraiser last Thursday, in a video clip captured by an attendee and posted on YouTube.

If you wanted an apolitical Olympics, that idea died well before 1980, or 1972. Try 1936.
I'd actually link to it, Shawn (for once!), but usually the "Think Again" pieces from FP are only available online for a fee. So head on down to a bookstore, such as B&N, and grab the latest edition of FP, and read the scathing critique of the Olympics and the IOC therein. It's good stuff.
Back in July 2001, I wasn't happy with Beijing getting the Games for a whole host of reasons. I think the world would have been much better off with Toronto as the host. It's somewhat amusing for me to see the chickens coming home to roost.

Even in cities with good Public Transportation the Anger gets worse. Crowded buses and people standing all the way to work. Hectic Schedules that make workers miss the 5 O'Clock bus and wait 40 minutes for the Next one. Previously steady users of Public Transportation are also impacted by all the new riders in the ways I just mentioned.
"My Bus ride home took 1 hr. and 20 Minutes !"
I've seen it, I've Heard it, I've been in the Middle of Public Transportation watching this happen....it's pissing people off more, knowing they have no Options but to suffer one way ($$'s for Gasoline) or suffer in another way (follow Public Transportation Schedules).
Congress is in BIG Trouble with Americans...particularly Democratic members....who won't be members for much Longer.

I moved to Seattle...(Fixing to move again) in April....Took a month to month Rent at an APT. as close to work as I could get. 2 miles.
I ride my Bike one mile....catch a Bus and ride the bus the next mile. I also catch the Bus to SeaTac Airport....I hear/See a lot....an it's getting louder and more Angry.
By the Way, Riding the BUS on the Interstate, with 50 people and no SEAT BELTS, with People standing, needs to be considered...is the Seat Belt law being Ignored when not practical.

Yep, good ol' Rep. Paul - who else? - was whining about how we weren't fighting for freedom in Africa. Huh??? Hey Ron, you would be screaming about it if we WERE, because you want the United States to be as whiny and powerless as possible. And perhaps you are forgetting Somalia? How about our troops in Djibouti (sp?)? To top it off, he further whined that we are in Iraq exclusively for the oil - showing once again he knows nothing about foreign policy, international relations, logistics, and transportation costs.
Then I had to hang out behind a truck trailer that proclaimed that the oil companies are the real terrorists because "they hold America hostage while making record profits." So it seems that driver thinks that the diesel that powers his truck should be 100% free. Right? Or perhaps he believes he should help himself to those profits because he thinks it is wrong that the oil companies have them? I bet he would be VERY unhappy if I forced his truck off the road, stuck a gun in his face, and confiscated either his rig or his profits. Yet, he is oh so willing to do the same to others.
The idiots are abounding out there.
