Regardless of what you think about Fox News's Juan Williams, you owe it to yourself to read his remarkable tribute to Tony Snow.
I promise you will laugh, cry, and be thankful for having done so...and, you'll learn something about Tony you didn't know before.

You were right
July 13, 2008 - 02:32 ET by garyganuAs I type these words, tears are streaming down my face. I remember listening to Tony when he filled in for Rush, 15 years ago. I was proud of him when he became press secretary. He was "my Tony Snow too".
Also, I notice that Juan Williams has been coming around lately. On several issues he is beginning to see the folly of the far left and Barack Obama. Maybe Tony had talked some sense into Juan after all those years.
I think Juan Williams is
July 13, 2008 - 04:58 ET by Jack BauerI think Juan Williams is great.
I disagree with the left-wing political take on most things he says, but so what. Seems like a great guy with whom to share a beer and a burger.
And he was a close friend of Tony Snow. Good enough for me!
"'Our' Tony Snow." Well
July 13, 2008 - 06:15 ET by sublight68"'Our' Tony Snow."
Well said. I feel like I've lost a friend.
Beautiful, Moving
July 13, 2008 - 06:41 ET by DingbatI used to throw things at the TV when Mr. Williams was on. The more I
listen and the more of his work that I read, I realize I was wrong. An
eloquent tribute that must have been hard to write through tears
I also like listening to
July 13, 2008 - 06:43 ET by MidAmericaI also like listening to Juan Williams. I usually feel like he is giving his honest opinion so even if I disagree I should at least listen.
A Wonderful Tribute
July 13, 2008 - 07:38 ET by BourbeauA wonderful tribute from a friend to a friend. More importantly, it's a wonderful tribute for a decent human being, by a decent human being.
That pretty well sums it up.
July 13, 2008 - 20:37 ET by well99That pretty well sums it up.
Great tribute my hats off
July 13, 2008 - 08:17 ET by BlazerGreat tribute my hats off to Juan. Although I do not agree with him on many issues, Juan is who I think of when it comes to a classy liberal.

July 13, 2008 - 08:55 ET by Dee BunkI don't like his politics but he's usually very good about condemning people on the left for being too divisive.

Over the past few months I find myself disagreeing with
July 13, 2008 - 09:03 ET by DaMavJuan Williams as much as ever, but viewing him with increasing respect as a person. You can bet he will be taking lots of flack from the bitter left for this.
I like Juan
July 13, 2008 - 10:24 ET by JnobleUnlike most of the other libs, he's not arrogant pompous or insulting. Instead, he's well spoken and down to earth. He's one of the few liberal talking heads on TV that don't make me roll my eyes or want to throw a brick at the screen. And he's not afraid to speak the truth about his own party. I'll even go as far as saying if Juan was the black liberal running for President instead of His Holyness Barack, I'd feel a lot better about this whole thing.
Thank you Noel..................
July 13, 2008 - 10:25 ET by BEGRUNTThat was a very moving tribute to Tony Snow. I have grown to respect Juan Williams over the last year or so. Given the latest "leftists", Juan Williams seems to be a lone sane voice amongst the lunies. He may be left, but he is a principled liberal, cant say that about the rest.

While I rarely agree with
July 13, 2008 - 11:34 ET by Chris NormanWhile I rarely agree with Juan Williams, I think he's a good and decent man. Funny, how liberals who appear on Fox are much more tolerant and civil than those who don't. Maybe they find out what it's like from the "outside" looking "in".

Chris - I really do think there is a lot of truth to that
July 13, 2008 - 12:30 ET by Dee BunkThe liberals who appear on Fox are not isolated in a group think atmosphere and begin to see Conservatives as people rather than the Caricatures depicted by their colleagues.
I think if the networks were more fair and balanced like Fox , the discourse in this country would be much better. If they worked regularly with some conservatives, then they would understand them better.

I agree Dee, when
July 13, 2008 - 12:59 ET by BlazerI agree Dee, when liberals are isolated in an echo-chamber like over at MSNBC it can be intolerable to the senses. Bill O' had Medea Benjamin on a couple of nights ago and even she seemed kinda' normal and had her wits about her, and she's about as nutty as they come.

Yeah Blazer - and even at the Networks
July 13, 2008 - 13:13 ET by Dee BunkIt's not as bad and hateful, but they still don't understand the conservative positions and demonize them.

Yep they do Dee, but at
July 13, 2008 - 13:59 ET by BlazerYep they do Dee, but at least on Fox they get challenged fairly. Unlike most outlets where a panel will consist of 3 libs and one conservative or over at MSNBC where there are no conservatives on shows like "Countdown" or the "Abrams Report" to challenge their stupidity.

JUAN WILLIAMS...
July 13, 2008 - 20:56 ET by danybhoyJuan is a classy man, & his words about his friend Tony Snow were classy as well. I like Juan Williams, I think he represents what Liberal Dems were about before the hard left takeover of the DNC by the Greens & the anti-war Hippies(they call themselves "progressives"). Juan is a rational & thoughtfull person who can discuss the issues, many who have taken power in the DNC are lacking these qualities. He fits in very well on FNC, & I would'nt mind seeing more of him on air.

I thought it was a great
July 13, 2008 - 22:42 ET by nwahsI thought it was a great article. As other's have posted, the liberals that appear on Fox tend to be intelligent and make intelligent arguments. Juan Williams is one example and Alan Colmes is another. Frequently, Ill see Comes pose a very good question that is sort of a double edged sword. If the conservative guest is on their toes, it would make a great jumping off point or soap box. Frequently, it'll just zoom over their head.
One question last week, asked something like "How come when McCain changes his mind it something good, but when Obama changes his mind its a flip-flop?"
Unfortunately the conservative guest (I forget who it was) didn't seize the moment and explain the exact difference between ideological changes over years and flip-flops over days or months.
It was a good question.
I hate to say this but...............
July 14, 2008 - 19:14 ET by Redrowan2000Juan Williams in the last few months or perhaps I wasn't listening as closely as i should have is a left winger from the word go--but he has a long streak of integrity and fairness in his dissertations.
Now as to his tribute to Tony Snow on Fox it was the most moving honest one I've seen.
Good job Juan. Just keep trying to be fair.
