Mark this date, June 10, 2008, on your calendars as the day someone in the Obama-loving media finally asked the Democrat presidential nominee a tough question.
Potentially even more surprising, the question and answer were posted at ABC News's website.
Is this a rare moment of clarity for a press member, or is this a sign the kid gloves are coming off now that Obama has won the nomination?
While you ponder, take a gander at what ABC's Jake Tapper posted at his blog Tuesday (emphasis added):
ABC News' Sunlen Miller today asked Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, how he could "rail against Countrywide Financial Corp as an example of insiders and today's economy while your VP search is headed by someone who got questionable loans from Countrywide?" (This is an issue we wrote about earlier today.)
"And in addition," Miller continued, "another person on that same VP search team – Eric Holder -- has also been involved in the Marc Rich scandal."
"Well, look," Obama said, "the, the, I mean - first of all I am not vetting my VP search committee for their mortgages, so you’re gong to have to direct -- "
"But shouldn’t you?" asked Miller.
Crikey! Maybe even more shocking, Tapper took issue with Obama's answer:
Did I read that correctly? Did Obama claim that Johnson and Holder -- two of the three people heading up his VP search committee -- aren't "work"ing for him?
I suppose that's because they're unpaid, but my stars, that's a lot of high-level, time-consuming sensitive effort to not be considered "working" for Sen. Obama.
Double crikey!
Is this a foreshadowing of a potentially less Obama-loving media now that the junior senator from Illinois is an election away from becoming the most powerful person in the world? Or, are press members going to have to confront the Democrat presidential nominee every now and then just to give themselves some pretense of objectivity and journalistic integrity?
Stay tuned.

Obama's Connection Chicago Style Seems Luck Always On His Side
June 10, 2008 - 14:26 ET by ronny117The fact is, in addition to being his real estate fairy for the $2 million mansion, Rezko is Obama's political Godfather. His career in politics was launched on July 31, 1995, with contributions of $2,000 from Rezko for the Illinois senate campaign. Obama only raised about $100,000 for that race, with roughly $15,000 coming from Rezko.
After Rezko was indicted in October 2006, Obama claimed Rezko only raised $50,000 or $60,000 over his political career. This is the story he gave in the media for more than a year. But the total amount revealed during interviews with the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune on March 14, 2008, added up to a quarter million.
Several of the people who led Obama's corrupt finance committee for the US senate race with Rezko, and collected all the contributions from the people involved in the pay-to-pay schemes, are now running the show for his presidential campaign.

June 10, 2008 - 14:53 ET by MassConservBal, Bush isn't that great a speaker when he's "on" the script. That's something we've all known from the beginning and accepted. In fact personally, I find he's usually better speaking off-the-cuff.
The point is BHO is supposed to be this great intellect simply because his oration is outstanding when he's reading from a prepared script. Take that away from him and one has to wonder what's underneath. It's a performance he's giving and he's playing a part. Even actors can play geniuses when given the right words.
I find little difference

The application selections comittee looks at one of two things about an applicant, the depth of the his/her parent's pockets (endowments, endowments!) or how bizarre his/her background. June 10, 2008 - 18:26 ET by sarcasmoBecause Obama was Editor of the Harvard Law Review, which means I suspect you have none whatsoever. You don't get to be Law Review Editor with quotas, you get that with extreme smarts along with good political instincts (Obama would have needed to please conservative top Hahvahd law students along with lefties and maybe a libertarian or two to make it to the very top, and he obviously did). There are many issues to attack Barak Obama on for partisan Republicans who want John McCain to be President. Brainpower ain't one of 'em, so you'll need to "link or slink" on this one.
