For several weeks, NewsBusters has been reporting a number of serious gaffes and misstatements by Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama that his adoring fans in the media are diligently keeping from the American people.
After all, if your goal is to get this man elected at all costs, you certainly don't want folks to see him stumbling on his words while he's campaigning. Such coverage is only reserved for Republican candidates making the occasional faux pas.
With that in mind, Gateway Pundit found a couple of whoppers made by Obama while at a Town Hall meeting in Bristol, Virginia, Thursday that are guaranteed to be ignored by our supposedly impartial press.
Embedded right is the junior senator from Illinois having a hard time explaining war funding costs, while after the jump he seems quite clueless about healthcare issues:
Can you imagine the attention that would be given to such gaffes if made by Sen. McCain?

Blasphemy, I tell you, blasphemy!!!!
Anyone even thinking such a thing should be burned at the stake.

Yeah, doing lines at Feinstein's crib can have that effect. Even on "clean, articulate black men".
And you want to provide my national security?!?

June 7, 2008 - 12:09 ET by balboaI think we all know that for Muslim terrorists, days consist of 48 hours, not 24.
Well, he still did not say the right word
June 7, 2008 - 12:14 ET by DEVILDOCMOMit sure is not a "breathalyzer" and it is not an “inhalator” which is defined as “a device providing a mixture of oxygen and carbon dioxide for breathing that is used especially in conjunction with artificial respiration”. What he must have meant is an “inhaler”. Just to let bhoo hoo hoo know, some children can be treated in the ER and sent home, others are more serious and do need to be admitted. These are not wasted beds; they are needed by the child. Most of the children we see do have health care in some form…even the illegals. It is called the "people who work cover the others".
And if the kid is treated
June 7, 2008 - 14:06 ET by motherbeltAnd if the kid is treated and sent home, he would probably whine that he was "kicked out" and they should have kept him overnight to make sure he was OK.
Why does he assume that every kid who shows up in the ER with asthma is there because he doesn't have an inhaler? Most of the time, it's because the inhaler didn't work on that particular attack. And if he didn't have one, he was probably sent home with a prescription to get one.
I'm already tired of his explaining away mistakes with the fact that he's not getting much sleep! You know what, Barry? In a national crisis, you will get even less!
If you can't stand the heat.....
Yes, mother
June 7, 2008 - 14:42 ET by DEVILDOCMOMyour are correct that most have an inhaler, it is just as you say "it's because the inhaler didn't work on that particular attack". bho will go to any lenght to twist an excellent health care system to fit his needs.
BTW, did we all see how quickly teddy had his surgery for his cancer-if he was a typical person in Great Britian he would still be waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
Newsbusters need to
June 7, 2008 - 12:14 ET by Jack BauerNewsbusters need to institute a permanent OBAMA GAFFE GUZZLER resource/page/section... doing the job the MSM is determined not to do.
It can keep a constantly updated list of all this well-educated fool's gaffes, lies, mis-statments, stumbles, shady friends.
You do not
June 7, 2008 - 12:20 ET by 10ksnooker... question Comrade Obama. If the messiah says it, then the drive-by media sees their job as to make it so.
You want to end up in some Soviet reducation camp(otherwise known as the 'Gulags') just keep this up. You could also find yourself in the next batch of Soylent Green.

If that were McCain we would be hearing how he's had another "senior moment" and there would be 24/7 coverage about his age.

McCain Strategy
June 7, 2008 - 13:45 ET by BarkerIt's no wonder John McCain wants at least ten town hall meetings with Obama.
Give the guy enough rope..........
From what I've heard, John
June 7, 2008 - 14:00 ET by SchnikeysFrom what I've heard, John McCain has also been making some serious errors in what he says regarding the situation in Iraq.
That's the problem with having a shoddy candidate like The Mac. It should be easy to slice and dice Obama, but instead, the Republicans (a.k.a. indies, Dems, and street RINOs) grabbed for the candidate with the lower handicap.
While I am no fan of Romney's enthusiasm for gun control and his indifference on the passage of government health care, at least he was likely to see the Dems' crap for what it is and bring wide public attention to it.

June 7, 2008 - 14:05 ET by Wildcatter1980Get that picture of Obama with the halo--from Reuters, I think--so that all the Obamaniacs can be reassured that he is still their liberal Messiah.
Of course, we know that had this been "W" or Maverick, they would be crucified by the sycophant MSM for such gaffs.
AARRRGGH!
June 7, 2008 - 16:04 ET by stratmanObama - No script, No good.
Not only did he screw up and say kids getting a "breathalyzer" in hospital for asthma, he then 'corrected' himself by saying
It's "inhaler" not "inhal at er". And a person in the hospital would get nebulized albuterol via facemask, not a spritz from a can like he mimed.
You'd think at this stage of the game, having given hundreds of speeches, that Barry would know his talking points by heart. What a moron.
This guy makes Bush look like a great orator.
And what does this say about the masses voting for him? No wonder most instructions are written at a fourth grade education level.
RRAM Tough!
It's now abundantly clear
June 7, 2008 - 21:19 ET by celatorIt's now abundantly clear that when Obama veers off the script someone has writtten for him, he is completely lost. This is a very shallow dude who has BS'd his way through life.
Some group, some interest, some fat money, all far behind the scenes, is paving the way for this guy. And it shows.
Commander in Chief? This guy is gonna get us all killed.
Shallow is a good
June 7, 2008 - 21:41 ET by stratmanShallow is a good description.
Inarticulate is another desription of his unscripted discourse. Joe Biden was, as usual, way off the mark wrong in calling Obama "articulate".
He is either shallow or a political snake when he says Wright/Rezko/Others Sure To Be Revealed were not what he knew them as. Either way, it is a serious indicment of Barry's capacity to judge people's nature and whom he should associate with, especially for someone wanting to be POTUS.
RRAM Tough!

June 7, 2008 - 22:48 ET by BEGRUNTor names are, George Soros, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid.....etc. He is a sock puppet for the above mentioned names. There is no other explanation. That and a willing MSM to do his bidding.

How can the messiah not hear himself in a room that's relatively silent but when giving a pre-written speech to an audience with Beatle-esque mania, he does just fine?

As I have said before about Obamanation.......
June 7, 2008 - 22:45 ET by BEGRUNTHE IS AN ELITIST, OVEREDUCATED BOOB, WHO NEVER HELD A REAL JOB IN HIS LIFE!! This man has NEVER experienced the real world, that is why he has such a hard time relating to common folks. I mean come on, tired or not, "inhalator"? It seems lately every time he opens his mouth, he sticks his foot into it, and has to revise his comments, or clarify. The biggest so far IMHO, was the Jerusalem statement. He is attempting to be everything to everyone, thereby pleases no one, a train wreck waiting to happen.

Obamisms - Gaffes Obama's Army of zombies don't want you to hear
June 7, 2008 - 23:18 ET by GameGridI can't wait to buy a book called "Obamisms" where we can laugh over the many, many gaffes this guy has, just like people have done with Bush. At the rate Obama is going, we could already compile one book and get started on the 2nd volume and maybe have a 3rd ready by November.
You folks on this board
June 7, 2008 - 23:40 ET by Cureboy675You folks on this board need to come to a consensus. Some call Obama a communist...Others call him a Muslim terrorist...And the rest call him a coke-head.
I just don't know if there's enough hours in the day to be all three.
take it easy
June 8, 2008 - 00:51 ET by respectfulconservativeYou all talk about how the media would pounce on McCain if he made a similar gaffe, and i think you are right.
Unfortunately, the way you make your point, by insulting Obama with personality based attacks and calling him a terrorist, communist and Coke head is ridiculous. We should exemplify the type of media we want the mainstream media to be. Do you really want the mainstream media to be full of such insults? Would that be a fair and unbiased media?
Lets maintain our credibility here. These posters are turning a great website into a place with all the civility and intelligence of a middle school locker room.
It is not the gaffe.
June 8, 2008 - 09:46 ET by JWFHe is saying that there is an army of children showing up at emergency rooms needlessly. If the had an inhalter, they would not be seeking emergency treatment.
Bull. Where is the stats, messiah? Why don't you wave your hand and cure them?
He will cure them JWF.
June 9, 2008 - 10:28 ET by MassConservJust like he will heal our wounded souls, and stop the rise of sea levels and the warming of the planet.
We just need to elect him POTUS first so he can work his magic. In this case a deposit won't suffice, full pre-payment is required before he can loose his super powers upon all mankind.
