I'm crying as I type wondering if anyone will be able to watch this astounding video of an Iraq war dad's surprise reunion with his unsuspecting daughter without weeping like a baby (h/t Pat Dollard via NBer acumen):
If that didn't bring a tear to your eye, please explain yourself.

May 23, 2008 - 16:42 ET by radiofitz34Thanks Noel, that was emotional for me also. It really puts things in perspective. It's nice to find something joyful to see in the midst of such negative programming by most of MSM. Sometimes a gem shines.

May 23, 2008 - 16:57 ET by MeanderingNoel, thank you for this wonderful reminder of the men and women fighting to protect our lives and freedom. No matter what people here are bickering about, we are here able to voice our opinions thanks to these brave soldiers now and the ones who have gone before. Thank you to the best military in the entire world!

Only FOX News would do that.
May 23, 2008 - 19:02 ET by superconOn MSNBC they're busy smearing Gen.Petraeus instead of showing a heart warming story like that.
It it was CBS they would immediately follow with a story about that mans fellow soldiers who were killed or who committed war crimes.
CNN would profile the emotional return home of a Guantanamo detainee with Christiane Amanpour saying"Wolf...this poor man was unjustly locked away for more than three years by a brutal military establishment".

Just kidding. That is a wonderful video. I was also struck by the reaction of the girl's classmates. That got me almost as much as the reunion.

I don't even have to watch the video anymore. Just thinking about what these three must have been feeling. Kills me. ns

May 23, 2008 - 19:31 ET by RESTLESS 1I was teeming with anticipation as they showed the dad walking to the cafeteria. I couldn't wait to see his daughter's reaction upon seeing him. As I said, the reaction of her classmates put it over the top.

May 23, 2008 - 19:34 ET by Chris NormanNoel,
What gets to me are the stories about the big tough soldiers helping out a crippled, injured, or sick Iraqi child. I'm not much of an emotional person, but those stories (especially the videos) turn me into a big melted marshmallow.

Amazing stuff. The expression on the girl's face -- no director could ever capture that. The mom in the background breaking down. Amazing.
The dad floors me, though. Is this a military thing? I'd be balling, and he's pretty controlled. Can any of our military members explain his composure? ns

May 24, 2008 - 02:29 ET by TjexciteThe best reunion videos are the ones that the returning soldier(father or mother) hids in a box and having the kids unwrap them.

May 24, 2008 - 07:34 ET by ricklailOur local TV station does a crummy job of covering the local news except when it comes to showing the reunions of the Marines and sailors with their families. Because we live so close to Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune we get to see stories like this about everyday. It never gets old because the reactions of the families are all different.
