Although it's been a constant theme of the Clinton campaign to accuse the media for being in the tank for her Democrat presidential opponent, it is nonetheless deliciously ironic to see the woman that coined the phrase "vast right-wing conspiracy" blame her campaign problems on the press.
Of course, as experience has shown us since this couple first broke on the national scene in 1991 that they both consider it almost a virtue to blame their problems and shortcomings on somebody else, we certainly aren't the slightest bit surprised.
With that as pretext, the Clinton campaign unleashed a new television advertisement in Oregon Friday pointing fingers at some of America's top political pundits as reported by Politico (video embedded right):
Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.
On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who’ll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee. [...]The Clinton camp believes a media backlash drove up turnout among her supporters in West Virginia, which last week delivered a landslide 67 percent to 26 percent victory for her. [...]
The ad, titled "What's Right," shows video snippets of a cadre of television show hosts who have dismissed or downplayed Clinton’s chances – NBC’s Tim Russert, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and MSNBC anchors Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.
Their voices are muted, and a narrator intones over their images: “In Washington, they talk about who's up and who's down. In Oregon, we care about what's right and what's wrong.”
Will this strategy bring out enough voters in Oregon for her to close what is currently a 20-point deficit? Stay tuned.

I Agree, Hillary
May 17, 2008 - 13:27 ET by zeestephenThe MSM has treated Mrs. Clinton like.....a Republican!
Welcome to the Party, Senator.
Whoops, I meant "party."
A Question For Mrs. Clinton
May 17, 2008 - 13:42 ET by zeestephenFifteen years ago Dan Quayle had a life threatening blood clot and spent several days in the hospital.
Tom Brokaw interviewed Quayle just after that. Brokaw's first question: "Has this made you appreciate all the Americans who don't have health insurance?"
Someone should ask Hillary if her failed campaign, mortally wounded by the MSM, has made her appreciate Republican candidates?
I agree to she put too much
May 17, 2008 - 14:59 ET by mjgI agree to she put too much trust in the media and now they have backstabbed her. That sounds familiar.
Lies, confusion
May 18, 2008 - 09:07 ET by docband fuzzy math.
Clinton is maning an all out effort to confuse the low knowledge voter about obama...and is getting little coverage for her outrageous claims from MSM or Cable so she has turned to the bloggers with this on Friday...
"But by confusing the facts and casting doubt on his legitimacy, she can encourage resentment among her supporters that will persist even if she drops out after June 4 and endorses Obama. If they feel that she was pushed out illegitimately, at least some of her supporters may decide to sit it out or vote for McCain in hopes of giving her another chance in 2012.
In addition to creating questions about Obama's legitimacy as the nominee, she played the gender card yet again last night. She said that she "deeply regrets the vitriol and the mean-spiritedness and the terrible insults and rhetoric that has been thrown around at you for supporting me, at women in general, at many of those who support my campaign because of who they are and their stand based on principle." This is not the first time she has claimed that she is being treated differently because of her gender, and it appears to encourage women who feel she has been mistreated because she is a woman to keep feeling that way.
This, like the talking points designed to cloud Obama's legitimacy in terms of the math, could be part of a strategy to fan the flames of resentment among her supporters, particularly women. Yes, she may bow out gracefully after the primaries are over, but she wants to make sure her supporters are as disappointed and even angry when she does. She appears to want them to feel that she was wronged, making it harder for them to turn around and support Obama. She'll bow out eventually and give a speech that will probably tug at people's heartstrings and make them wistful, with some people perhaps hoping that she gets another chance in 4 years."
My heart bleeds for Hillary
May 17, 2008 - 11:16 ET by jefflebowskiLive by the sword ...die by the sword. Betrayal by the liberal MSM is something Hillary is now experiencing. McCain is just a few weeks away from experiencing the same betrayal from those he has kissed up to for years. And my heart will bleed for him too!
Another note...Fox is reporting that Ted Kennedy has had a stroke.
More political jiu-jitsu from the Clinton mafia
May 18, 2008 - 11:26 ET by GalvanicWhile the media, to varying degrees, had been very soft on Obama (NBC was openly cheering for him), they were very soft on Hillary Clinton when it came to her record.
Here was a candidate with no public service before 2000, touting her 'experience' in Presidential business while First Lady, and getting away with it. In fact, when you look at pieces by featherweights like Campbell Brown and Andrea Mitchell, they usually refer to Clinton's 'experience' as if it's clear and substantial.
They finally got off their collective duffs when windbag Hillary told audiences about being under sniper fire at Tuzla -- an absolute and indefensible lie, of which she later said, "I misspoke," and no one in the MSM called it what it obviously was: a lie.
But as Clintonistas were pointing MSM eyes toward Obama's cohort going to trial, why didn't the media say, "Well, as long as we're looking at relationships, let's remind the public about Webb Hubbell, the Riadys, Johnnie Chang, Marc Rich, Charlie Tree, and of course, the notorious Rodham Brothers themselves" ?
Now that's some experience to talk about, because it's on the record. They even have plenty of B-roll for the stories. But to no one's surprise, the media was inexcusably negligent in allowing her to make outrageous claims about her role in the White House, and not challenging her to explain her roles in the criminal activities that we know she had her hands in.
Leave it to the narcissistic Clintons to paint themselves as the victims. They are black belts in the art of political jiu-jitsu.

May 17, 2008 - 11:26 ET by Cool ArrowBut you're not a man, and you're not African American.
The Dems know they have the vote of all those white women who bear baby presidents.
Don't get me wrong, Hillary. I'd much rather have you in the WH than Obama. Not entirely sure I wouldn't rather you than McCain.
But this is a done deal, and we're stuck with Obammessiah.

Totally pathetic. People really want this whiny ass elitist to be the next President? I don't remember, did Bush personally attack CBS for the fictitious Air National Guard story? I don't think so.
There was to be a Coronation!
May 17, 2008 - 12:10 ET by BufordThe Clinton camp went into this campaign knowing it was hers for the taking, as a result they were caught flat-footed when a well organized Obama campaign took hold. Lord knows if McCain doesn't pull it off, I would rather it be Hillary in the WH than BHO.

what a joke these Clintons are
May 17, 2008 - 12:14 ET by MrltavernToo bad Hillary. You and your husband benefited from the fruits of the liberal media your whole lives. They have a new boy this time. How does it feel to be on the outside looking in? How does it feel that the same liberal progressives who kissed your feet in the 90's have now stabbed you in the back for the phantom candidate Obama?
Perhaps if you showed a little personality and umph and attacked him last year instead of praising him you wouldn't be in this situation. You wouldn't have to resort to going to every campaign state and saying that "enter any state she visits, is the state that picks the president".

McCain
May 17, 2008 - 14:54 ET by iveseenitallLucky for McCain that Hillary doesn't get the nod. IMHO, Hillary would have stomped him. As it is, Barry may win, even though as the days go by more and more citizens are finding out what an incompetent, immature, ignorant, egtistical clown the boy is. He's not ready by any stretch of the imagination. If we're lucky, we'll be stuck with John. Not much there either. Sad.

The MSM is Just Starting......
May 17, 2008 - 18:04 ET by richard...to factually report, instead of shilling for her, what it should have been reporting since the campaign started, the fact that the majority of Americans can't stand (actually HATE) this lying, duplicitous b**ch and her philandering BOZO husband. They can't wait to sweep her large a** back to Arkansas, Illinois, New York or any other place she decides she's from. Game, set, match....it's over Hildabeast, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I bet the losers from New York that voted for her for the Senate wish they could take a Mulligan about now. But I have to give her some credit for all those jobs she promised for them four years ago, oh...that's right, she didn't make good on that promise. Oh well, at least Bill put up a charade of an office in Harlem, just to prove that he was the first black president. Wonder why he keeps bringing up all these racial innuendos when he's supposed to be so "right on" with blacks. Oh ya, that was phony too. Starting to get the pattern? If not, your stuck on stupid.
Plain and simple, the Clintons aren't for you, me or anybody else, just themselves.
