Despite all the global warming hysteria emanating from the usual media suspects and Nobel Laureate Al Gore, it's been a cold, harsh, long winter throughout most of America.
Apparently, some of the citizens in the small, Idaho panhandle town of Craigmont are so fed up with the cold weather that they placed a request to "Bring Back Global Warming" on the marquee of their local high school.
With this in mind, the following hysterical picture was first published in the Lewiston Tribune, and reprinted Friday by the San Francisco Chronicle with the caption "Burn more fossil fuels so we don't have to wear sweaters: It's 35 degrees in Craigmont, Idaho, in May. What more proof do you need that global warming has ended?":

Delicious.

Yesterday I got off the mountain here, went through Bonners Ferry and other small towns clear to Couer D'Alene...you wouldn't believe it, a planetary emergency indeed, I thought of contacting algore immediately, kids were outside in shorts and tee shirts...imagine that....in May!
We still hve snow here....I am pateintly waiting to work outside...it has been a record breaking long winter in all of this area...bring on Global warming indeed!
Great job Craigmont Lions...you speak for tons of us all over the area!!

It Is Chilly
May 3, 2008 - 12:25 ET by JoelCTI am sitting here in Central Texas, on May 3rd no less, pondering whether or not to close the windows for a while.
I always open up the house in the mornings in April and May. It's the reason I love living in Texas. Of course, by 11 AM, I usually have to close them up and crank the A/C, but at least some fresh air wafts through the house.
This morning I am shivering. Morning? It's 11 AM, normally the time I close the windows because it is too warm.
Today I may close them because it is too COLD, if it doesn't warm up pretty soon.
Somebody should give Al Gore's face a good slap.

I'd also like to bring up
May 3, 2008 - 13:28 ET by taterI'd also like to bring up that South Dakota, Western Nebraska, and Northern Colorado all experienced a blizzard yesterday and even where I'm at we had a few snowflakes and woke up to temps around freezing this morning. Darn all this global warming, climate change, or whatever excuses Algore and his cronies come up with...indeed!

Hi tater... Don't you
May 3, 2008 - 14:14 ET by bigtimerHi tater...
Don't you find it funny that the weather guessers on all the msm rarely mention these facts, they may just barely mention some of this in passing and quickly move on, but the global warming hypocrisy is completely ignored...they are waiting for summer, so they can really talk up global warming again...what better time of the season to do this?
Hypocrites...and they think we all are dumbed down Americans out here...there is not one single person I know of in a big stretch of my area, and I travel quite a bit once a week here lately, where anyone of any political stripe wants to hear those words again about global warming, unless they use it in terms like the Lions did here...
ROFLMAO!

Cause and Effect
May 3, 2008 - 14:17 ET by BacchusWell, since carbon emissions cause global warming (as the non-debatable theory goes), then a lack of carbon emissions explains the long, and cold, winter of 07/08. A carbon emission chart has been circulating around the web that has the U.S. leading the way with the lowest growth in carbon emissions and beating the Kyoto signatories combined by a wide margin, 6% vs. 18%. No wonder it's so cold.
Behind AGAIN?
May 3, 2008 - 14:33 ET by JoelCTHoly cow! People, I am sick and tired of the US falling behind the rest of the world all the time! I want everyone reading this to get outside and crank up your SUVs, Motor Homes, and lawnmowers NOW!
Here you go, Bacchus!
May 3, 2008 - 14:38 ET by Roger the ShrubberHere you go, Bacchus!
Thank you, Roger.
May 3, 2008 - 15:20 ET by BacchusThat's the chart and I stand corrected:
U.S.A - 6.6%
Kyoto - 21.1%
World - 18.0%
If only the USA was part of Kyoto - just think about what their percentage could have been. Sigh. But the good news is that the US has plenty of carbon offsets for sale. Good deal, eh?
It's been a record cold April...
May 3, 2008 - 15:24 ET by winston smith....but the MSM has been rather reticent about that fact -- people might wise up and reconsider the successful brain-washing tactics they've been spoon-fed about global warming and "climate change" theories. Better to inundate them with stories about tornadoes and local flooding but studiously ignore the April blizzards. After all, we're all trying to save the planet, right?

....a fact rarely mentioned too when the reporters are reporting their blather....usually all geared up standing in what ever the utmost of the conditions are in the area at the time...for me it would be humorous if it weren't so maddening at times the way they report, or better yet, non-report this information.
Maine is a prime example just recently.

May 3, 2008 - 15:40 ET by winston smithOn the other hand, if the April temps had been in the 80s or 90s ---- well, I don't think we need to guess what the media reaction would have been.

Gore's $300 Million ad
May 3, 2008 - 16:12 ET by SumricaGore's $300 Million ad blitz: I haven't seen any of the Pelosi-Gingrich and Sharpton-Robertson spots in some days in my market.
I'm wondering if he's saving his amunition until warmer weather. Or, maybe since the La Nina news came out, he decided to hold off until Hansen's crowd finds the right words to discount the PDO and potential effects of AMO.
You know what the MSM would say

We will have massive global cooling and in a hurry.
This particular volcano will not directly affect the N.Hemisphere but could very well help cool down the south pole. And, if it really blows its top...well, then you are talking about people relocating..like all of Australia!

hwm982xx May 3, 2008 ...Why
May 3, 2008 - 22:06 ET by hwm98264hwm982xx May 3, 2008 ...Why do the global warming alarmists always use the term "climate change" instead of "global warming"? The current frenzy is actually about only ONE debate - "CO2 causes global warming". ANY global cooling is totally irrelevant to "climate change" since there is not any hypothetical scientific "consensus" to justify any human connection to cooling. So; the term "climate change" is a meaningless expression as relates to current political/religious hysteria over anthropogenic global warming.
