Last Monday, Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection launched its first television ad as part of a three-year, $300 million campaign to scare Americans into believing the world is coming to an end if we don't stop burning fossil fuels.
Data compiled by online communcations research company MediaCurves.com indicated that only young people and Democrats responded favorably to the section of the ad dealing specifically with global warming, while older people, Independents, and Republicans seemed less impressed.
The embedded video to the right shows responses of the participants by age, while the video below the fold is separated by political affiliation (h/t Rasmussen Reports):
Pay attention to what happens in both videos as the subject moves to global warming. In the first video, notice how only the 18 to 25-year-old bar goes up at that point, while the other three age group lines decline.
As for party affiliation, watch how the Democrat line goes up, the Republican line plummets, and the Independent line dips slightly.
Seem like Al and his group of not-so merry men and women are preaching to the choir?

Sort of the perception of the perception.
So when politicians (like a certain Senator from Arizona for example) see the media filled with Alarmism on Global Warming (AGW), he may have two reactions. One is that he may believe it himself. Or, two is that he believes the public believes it. Either way, the effect is the same.

This kinda reinforces one of my own personal tenets, that Democrats and liberals are emotionally and intellectually retarded. They are indeed like children, with an incomplete and malformed view of the world.

Global Warming no Death Ray
April 7, 2008 - 02:05 ET by tarunkjuyalA proof that the times we live in are
especially toxic is that even the take on the weather can lead to
family squabbles and talk radio hosts braying especially loudly into
their mikes.
Last month I
compared memories of Easters past in Salt Lake City with those of
Easter present. More specifically, my recollections about weather. It
seems that the Easters of my childhood were whiter and colder.

For the ignorance part, see Colin Powell's last week's story about education in America. Pay attention to the media's covergae of it -- Oh wait, skip the part about covergae, to cover the story would be to fault the governemnt school system and the unions it supports. Sorry, you are on your own to find out what was said. It was bad.

A TV ad never fed a hungry child.
April 7, 2008 - 09:30 ET by Jack BauerA TV ad never fed a hungry child. A TV ad never provided a poor third world village with fresh water.
A TV ad never gave a fat, kerosene guzzling, massive carbon buttprint egomaniac another platform to spout his dangerous nonsense..oh sorry, that's incorrect.
That's exactly what Al Gorp is spending $300 million doing.
Ignorance
April 7, 2008 - 10:16 ET by iveseenitallAlgore,et.al. survive due to ignorance. Our public schools do the same. They especially love the young with immature minds which can be molded so easily. What these "liberals" have done to the nation is criminal. Gore and many "teachers" are quite dull and ignorant themselves. Add to this a dull and ignorant media to spread the canard of global warming and you've got quite a mess on your hands. Sad.
P.S. It is noted now that both the Gores and the Clintons are worth $100,000,000+. It's amazing how lucrative public "service" is these days. Sad.

Raises an interesting question doesn't it? Last week Al Gore said on 60 minutes that those who oppose him on the global warming question are now a "tiny, tiny minority". If that's true, why spend $300 million on an advertising campaign?
